Is Bruckheimer producing? EDIT: Nevermind.

Wow. So what's the Pope waiting for to invoke the Power of God and smite his enemies? Wouldn't that solve all the troubles in the Middle-East? <_<

I usually sleep for 5-6 hours max during the week and on weekends it's very rearely above 9 hours.

What religious group(s) has ever been "best friends" with Muslims?

Will the Horses be playable in the original campaign of Neverwinter Nights and the expansions? If I export my character from Wyvern Crown of Cormyr, does he/she keep the horse and can the character be imported in, say, Shadows of Undrentide?

It's also ironic that many Muslims(extremists) believe the West and pretty much anyone who doesn't believe in the same things they do to be devils bringing only Hell to earth, with a need to eradicate us all because of that belief. But when one of our religious leaders(well ok, THE Leader) criticises them it's oooooOOooooooOooh. The Vatican even apologizes. Have Muslim religious leaders ever apologized for calling us Demons of the Underworld? Religion makes them all completely nuts. Muslims and others alike(extremists that is).

Well, yesterday my day didn't go so well. However when my wife came home she surprised me with a rented copy of Lego Star Wars II and we played it together for an hour or two. It made my entire crappy day shine with happyness! How good was your day and why?

I like Wiki a lot. I wouldn't write it as a source of information for a "serious" research project but I will use it often to give me direction, pointers, ideas, etc. It is a tool and, for me, a good one as long as I don't completely rely on it. It is the sum of human knowledge, with all the flaws that this statement implies.

I remember reading an interview with Ian McEllen(he was being interviewed by a magazine, I wasn't actually reading with him) in which he was saying that he would really like to produce and co-star as Gandalf in a Hobbit miniseries and he was trying to get Peter Jackson involved. That seemed very interesting but it apparently went nowhere.

There has been a shooting in a school in Montreal around 1pm today. 4-5 victims so far, 3 of them in critical condition. I live in Montreal. And no, I was not one of the shooters!

If you like the show why encourage people to steal it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How is it stealing if I pay for viewing the station, like cable or satellite or whatever? What is the difference with using TiVo or VCR and downloading an episode that I missed? As long as they're not on DVD it ain't stealing. It could even be argued that in the event that I was stealing, in promoting the show and the Sci-Fi network I would be paying my dues. Kind of.

That sounds waaaay too much like Star Trek. Which I absolutely loathe. Also, I like series with closure. A dragged out plot is lame. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Aside from being in space, it is nothing like Star Trek. There is a bit of the "Giligan's Island syndrome" but the quality of the writing and the acting outstrips the show's minor flaws. The third season begins in less than a month and nothing has been dragging on so far. The series is a story, it's not like each episode is independant from the others, they all follow each other at a quick but steady pace. You may still not like it and I'm not forcing you or anything but it certainly deserves a try, at the very least.

Try BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!!! You can start buy renting the season 1 DVDs if you like. And it's definitely worth wasting bandwidth on.

I like the Star Trek teleporter. It transforms matter into energy into matter and during transport it keeps a record of the exact genetic code and subatomic particle layout of everything in a "pattern buffer" so that if anything goes wrong during the teleportation they can bring a person back. The thing is, humans need to know everything about the human body, for example, what makes up the soul, is it matter and/or chemicals or just energy. And what about memories, skills, knowledge, etc. Things that for now don't seem to have any material to them. We need to make sure we know these things before we start teleporting stuff and people.

The state of my marriage is fantastic and my mother does live on the west coast and we communicate mostly through emails. I was wondering if the teleporter would also scan and reproduce the clothes on my back or do I have to go through this naked? Oh and thank you Narty for reminding me that although my previous post was purely hypothetical it could've cause some trouble at home. FIXED.

My guess is that hey won't. The hero(hero as in Leading Character, not hero as in he/she saves people) in the story is the boy, not Optimus. Therefore, Spike will kill Megatron. From the review linked above: "Why they didn't bring Arcee into the picture and make Prime and Megs fight over her sweet, pink, angular @$$ instead I'll never know."

Let's say Timmy needs to go to his mother's for the weekend. She lives on the west coast and he live on the east coast. Timmy need to be there for friday night dinner because she wants to intriduce him to this hot babe that was just hired at her workplace. So, around 5:30pm Timmy prepares to step into his own private teleporter situated in a corner in his apartment. He cleans off both the ceiling and floor of the machine and makes sure there are no insects crawling anywhere. Timmy also makes sure there are no bacterias of any kind or particles in the air inside the teleporter. Then, when all is ready to go Timmy steps into the machine and presses the little red button. At that very instance... ...is Timmy naked?

Bush uses 9/11 to Justify Iraq War
astr0creep replied to 6 Foot Invisible Rabbit's topic in Way Off-Topic
Well Democracy is democratic only when we vote. After that, there is very little that is different from a dictatorship. There is just a lot more bureaucracy(sp?) to hide the corruption. A year or two ago there was this big scandal here in Canada involving sponsorship, public funds and high ranking politicians apparently in the Liberal party(most of the culprits were Quebecers, which did not surprise me at all). It became quite apparent that democracy is an illusion and politicians are in power only for the opportunities, legal or not, to make money and the lifetime pension that comes after the 4 year terms are over. The good of the people, wether it be in Canada, the US, Irak or whatever, is the last thing on a politician's mind, Democrats, Republicans, Liberals, Conservatives alike. They're all the same. I would say Americans should take advantage of a certain amendment of the Constitution and use their right to bear arms in a more active manner. I would say we all should. For the good of the people and our children's future. But I won't say it. -

No I do think that. I think he is in the wrong. I also think he is a puppet reading a text on a teleprompter and that he has no idea whats going on anywhere, just like most leaders of democratic countries. -

Usually, with terrorist attacks, the group who did it proudly takes credit for it. This was never done with 9/11. Al-Qaeda has never said they did it, they never took credit for it but they were happy and impressed by the attack(I remember this from a video broadcasted by Al-Jazeera on 9/12/2001 and retransmitted over here on the news). Also, Al-Qaeda was a relatively minor group in 2001 and it was debated multiple times that they did not have the means to execute such an attack. Bin Laden is supposed to be an exile from the Saudi Arabian Royal family, allies of the US. Also, no one seems to remember this and please, correct me if I'm wrong but shortly after the first week of attacks in Afghanistan, GW Bush was given "Emergency powers", giving him full control of the military with the option of declaring Martial Law in the US if the need would present itself, among other things. I'm just tyoing stuff from memory so please, correct me if I'm wrong and don't hold it against me. :"> -
He would be taking us all with him. For his bliss. Although it could be a great thing and the intention is noble, I would not want to forced into someone else's bliss. Anyway it was a stupid joke and don't worry, nobody gets my posts.
