The Lighthouse of Democracy In the World: Sweden!
astr0creep replied to mkreku's topic in Way Off-Topic
Are you speaking of Canada? If "yes" then I laugh with you. :D -
I'd like to see a picture of a hardcore fight... "

Isn't Donny Darko a kind of Cult favorite, with Evil Bunny action figures and the like?
-
No I don't. As pathethic as it sounds, these Obs boards are the only forums I post, along with SCI-Fi's BSG and Gamespot, under the same name but less often. On topic: I can't wait for next week's flashback episode either.

I wasn't trying to convince anyone of anything. They're just theories and speculation. <_<

Maybe those victims weren't Sylar's. After all they thought Radioactive Man was Sylar.

HP: Prisoner of Asskaban. Slept through parts of it. Again. I just can't get into these films no matter what I try to tell myself. The secondary actors are great(career wise I mean, because in HP there game is average) but the main ones are very amateurish. Daniel Radcliff looks the part but I've seen more emotions in my sleeping Pug. This particular film I found particularly sleep-inducing for some reason. Could be the lighting, the darker tones or maybe it's just horribly boring.

The professor mentioned Sylar before though, like he was one of the first he found, if not THE first. So maybe they worked together a while and he(Sylar) fled with some research.

Volourn's Gothic 3 demo Very Early Impressions
astr0creep replied to Volourn's topic in Computer and Console
this might be the hundreth time i read this same post. nice going on topiv, i'll never be abled to run this game. not that i mind, i dont really like FPRPG's. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Unless they did a MAJOR change, Gothic has always been Third Person. -
Does Sylar have more than telekinesis though? Seems to me all his "powers" are related to that single one.
-
He did? What I saw was Sylar unconscious at least one foot next to Peter who was lying dead in a pool of his own blood. We never see them hit the ground(do we?) so how can you say he landed on Peter, especially since Sylar was unconscious? Why didn't Sylar just fly away as they were falling? Anyway, we'll find out next week, same bat-time, same bat-channel.

I've got some weird virus i can't get rid of!
astr0creep replied to Lare Kikkeli's topic in Skeeter's Junkyard
Has anyone tried NOD32? I had a demo version a while back. It's a very small program that constantly runs in the background but barely takes up any power. I found it very effective but I could never find it in stores, only online which bothers me. -
Volourn's Gothic 3 demo Very Early Impressions
astr0creep replied to Volourn's topic in Computer and Console
I read that G3 was extremely buggy. Is the combat scheme the same as in the previous games in the series? Is the first chapter overly loooooong with a quest that involves finding herbs in the wilderness? -
Hum... may I ask what battle? They fall off a roof and it's a battle? Peter didn't even use his power(he could've used telekinesis). And what, Sylar regenerates too??? It was still one the best episodes so far. By the way I'm dropping my stupid Evil-Hiro theory because my wife made me realize that the slashing sound I heard when the waitress died was her dropping the can opener. :"> But I have another one! Syler could be Zach(too obvious but why hasn't he killed Claire yet?) or even Evil-Future-Peter(when the cops arrive he "fixes" his foot even though Claire is far away, leading me to believe he can keep the powers he absorbs...). See, usually in movies or television, when you can't see the face of someone it usually means it's because we know him. So I'm trying to figure out who we know that could be Sylar. I guess we'll know next week. (w00t)

I say back up whatever you can and do a full format ASAP. Then, when all is done, scan your backup with a fresh system/antivirus and hope you don't lose anything. Or, you could do a print out of your massive collection and acquire it some other cheaper way after the format. As gamers I believe we should do a full system format every 3 to 6 months because of all the pathces, mods, wallpapers, etc that end up on our machines. That's what I do and I rarely have any problems with viruses. By the way, a full format also resets any registration that you might have with a legal copy of, say, Norton so your 2005 copy will still be valid by the end of the decade, providing Symantec still supports it. Anyway, that's what I'd do if I was in your shoes. -
Interesting. Have you ever played Spellforce? It mixes RTS and RPG very well. Not the extent you write about though but it's a start. And dialog is horrible. :'(
-
Exactly! (and as for myself i also like to give strategy options to the mix, the keep in NWN2 comes near it, but creating a city and expanding + politics would make it superb ) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wasn't Torment exactly like that? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Storytelling and dialog was like an adventure game, deep, involving, magnificently written. The gameplay was RPG, almost exactly like BG and the combat was just as strategical as any IE game before it.
-
I smell promotion.

So what we want is the of storytelling and dialog of adventure games with the gameplay of RPGs! (w00t)

Cool! Thanks LC

It's a general impression. First of all, if I had proof of commandos doing these things I'd have disapeared already... :'( Second, I admit it's not fair for me to imply these things because I have no proof. Third, I play too many games and I watched too many X-Files and I often see the possibility of conspiracies where they are possibilities of no conspiracies. Sorry, I'm messing up the thread now. To explain my impression, It feels like they(not the soldiers but whoever is pulling the strings) are using "Aid" as a reason to be there to do other things like, say, attacking Iraq. Soldiers have my support because I think the reason they think they're over there is not the real reason, I think if they truly knew or realized why they're there they would all leave of their own free will. I think if we knew the real reasons, guillotines would make a comeback. I will now leave this thread because I'm in over my head and I've already been flamed enough today(somewhere else). Thank you. :">

Isn't the mission power projection through aid and protection? It feels like a telethon, where 90% of the funds raised go to pay the performers, the location, the equipment, etc. This seems wrong to me. It's like :"Look, we're aiding you!" While commandos, under cover of night, fake an attack on enemy soil so that a retaliation ensues and the war continues, filling the coffers of arms dealers and manufacturers. It's just the impression I get from this whole thing.

Reading some of the posts here and finding it very interesting. Would a romance that is not openly, mushily romantic be possible? Like a deeper relationship between the PC and a companion of the player's choice. Maybe greater healing or attack combos that are more powerful if a relashionship is stronger than the others. Levels of relationships dependent on dialog options or risk taken to help a particular companion, for example I really need to open this chest in a limited time frame but "my girl" is fighting 4 Liches and she needs help, so I forget about the stupid key to the next level for now and go help my friend, we'll just clear that dungeon tomorrow morning at 5am when the secret gate opens. *bing* Relationship Lvl +5. ^_^

There's only two pages. And I prefer the fiber of whole wheat because, you know, I'm full of sh*t. :D
