  1. Oh so you mean the Marvel intro similar to that of X-Men, Spiderman, Hulk, Daredevil, Electra and Fantastic Four was a hint that Ghost Rider is a comic book? Yes, I know what its based on. But the film did not make me want to go to a comic book store to hunt down Ghost Rider comics, nor did it make me want to know more about the franchise which, in my eyes, makes this movie a complete failure.
  2. Ghost Rider A strange rip off of Terminator 2 and Blade 1. Some nice parts but mostly very dissapointing. They could've exploited his chain weapon a lot more and I found it very pretentious to announce not just a sequel but a full series of this garbage with the half-assed ending. Oh yeah and the acting sucked really bad. 2 good things about Ghost Rider: Eva Mendes' ultimate cleavage shots and Sam Elliot. If I was gay and if he was Canadian(and gay), I'd have married Sam Elliot. I love that guy.
  3. As far as I can tell, the only rythm a newborn baby has is the grumbling of the stomach. Day, night, silence or noise it doesn't matter. She sleeps unless she's hungry and not even poopy pants wake her up(although she definitaly let us know about the discomforts of a wet diaper).
  4. She sleeps from 1 to 3 hours straight for now, which is not too bad. But it's fading. She's now beginning to step away from the feeding schedule imposed at the hospital nursery. She drinks a bit less but a bit more often and we can see her gaining some weight, which is a very good thing.
  5. There are rules against me reproducing. Part of the Geneva convention, if I recall. Laws of physics maybe?
  6. So Miami Vice sucks. Noted. Thanks Volo. Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace + Making Of Probably one if not the best Making Of ever made. This film changed the perception I had of GL, from a sort of Demi-God to a simple child playing with toys. I particularly enjoy the scene in which he shows Steven Spielberg around his lot and this life size model of a droid is just standing there in the middle of a huge parking lot. George then proceeds in describing what this thing is, what it does in the film, why its arm is broken off. Steven tries to fix it by inserting the hand end into the shoulder and George then takes the arm out of Spielberg's hands and shows him how its done. Like a kid showing off a new toy. Hilarious. But the entire documentary is actually very interesting and not completely filled with geeks modeling on computers. It is a real documentary on the making of a Star Wars film, not just a promo video like what we usually get. Its actually much better then Ep1...
  7. She is finally home!
  8. I used to share your sentiments on the subject. Until 52 hours ago...
  9. lol Thanks guys. Her name is Sophia, she was a bit early and I've spent the weekend at the hospital helping my wife as best I can. I won't go into details because: 1- They can be gross and 2- My wife reads this board often and she hates it when I post stuff about us for "strangers" to read. But the important thing is that both are doing very well, the delivery was surprisingly easy(I do mean for her, she slept through most of it) and we couldn't be happier. Oh yeah and EPIDURAL FTW!
  10. You should put some redish tones around the outer rings to create a "red, white and blue" shade and then sell your concept to Jerry Bruckheimer for his Armaggeddon sequel. If this works out for you I want 40% of your earnings from it please(since I said the magic word you have to cooporate).

    Pride

From dictionary.com: "PRIDE noun, verb, prid
  12. I'm not the one who brought up the "What if he's actually innocent" debate. I only said that the victim and her/his(yes, it happens) family should have a right to decide the guilty's fate, be it death, torture, castration, forgiveness, whatever. It could be a simple veto on a jury's decision, a veto given by the Judge. Being careful and not giving a full sentence, however cruel it may seem, to prevent innocents from paying a very high price gives the opportunity for the real criminals, of rape or other, to often walk through loopholes or live when they should die. By protecting the occasional innocent, we allow the guilty, the majority(of prisoners) to get lesser sentences. How can men like Robert Pickton and Charles Manson be allowed to live? Because they could be innocent? Because of jurisprudence(sp)? I don't understand. I really don't.
  13. Not necessarily. Perhaps she was mistaken, perhaps someone else entirely wanted to frame him, perhaps a mistake was made somewhere in the process. Why would they want to kill the judges or lawyers, when you are the one who sentenced him to death? You could have chosen a lesser punishment, but you chose to believe the justice system got it right. By giving the victim or victims family the right to do what they wish, you are making them a part of the justice system. By deciding how this man should be punished, you have made yourself a part of the system and as such you must be held accountable for the decisions you make. Which means his family gets to kill you, if they wish. I've said what I wanted to say. The details are in common sense, which seems to escape forumites everywhere. My problem is more with goody-goody people who still believe in the current overly corrupted justice systems and who seem to be willing to accomodate these slimes with leniency(sp). There will always be mistakes, some innocent person will always be caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. The point is to not be too nice with the majoraty of the truly guilty ones, just so that one innocent person, sometimes, can be accomodated with a lesser sentence. We might as well empty all jails right now.
  14. All Braveheart speeches are terrible and cringy. Except for the original Braveheart speech and Aragorn's. You guys are way too hard on a summer popcorn blockbuster Hollywood Bruckheimer produced movie film. What did you expect? Lars Von Trier's next?
  15. So you kill the man who raped your daughter, but what if it is later revealed he was innocent? Does his family have the right to end the life of their sons killer? This system you propose is completely and utterly moronic. Only because the current justice system doesn't work. Besides, I didn't propose any "system". This would imply details regarding the law, sentences, investigations, etc. I barely propose a poll. If the court makes a mistake and gives me the right to do whatever I want with my daughter's allegded rapist and it turns out he's innocent(which would mean my daughter lied, no?) I would assume the man's parents could not have the same right. Maybe they could kill the Judge or the lawyers? If law makers and enforcers were accountable for such mistakes our justice system would work perfectly.
  16. I still have R-Type and the Sega Master System I played it on years ago. No reasonable offers refused(except for all those offers after the first reasonable one).
  17. Xenosaga 3 New Super Mario Bros. Final Fantasy 3
  18. I believe that in the case of repeating sexual offenders, especially when children are the victim, doing the wrong thing is letting a rapist go through the normal justice channels and letting him out after 6 months of jail time because of various loopholes and "agreements" between lawyers. It happens here all the time. Criminals usually serve a third of their sentence minus the time they already spent in jail awaiting trial minus the freedom bonus they get for an admition of guilt. From 6-10 years they get a few months. And it doesn't mean the victim's family will torture and kill a rapist. Many simply forgive, after a period of "mourning". The point is that the victim and its family should have the right to decide the fate of the perpetrator in such a personal crime.
  19. Why? "Rehabilitation"? Thats politically correctness crap. If a man rapes my daugther, I want the right to kill him. Don't you have the right, in some or all States to kill someone who breaks into your home? So why not your kid's rapist? Is property more valuable then life in the US? Oh yeah I forgot. It is.
  20. Huh. No. It works exactly as it was intended to. Morrowind is WAYYYYYY better NWN1, especially if one can forgive the many same faces and the way dialog was designed. Bottom line is, the dialog gets you where you want to go. The end justifies the means. Faces? Pff. Who cares. Most of the games we play and especially have played, show detailed faces in cutscenes only. No biggy. Plus Morrowind's graphics, at the time, were top of the line absolute gorgeousness. Even the faces, however limited the variety was. #4 seems a bit high though I wonder where I would put it. Top 10 for sure.
  21. At the moment TV is bleak because all the seasons are over. WTF are we supposed to watch this summer? Even saturday morning cartoons have been replace by fishing shows here.
  22. Cant, do you make up your own test cases or are you given some? I worked three years in QA, two of them as a Lead/Project manager. What I've learned is that usually, the work itself is quite chaotic. There is no established work process or methodology in testing. It seems to be pretty much every tester for himself, and management rarely cares as long as the product passes certification(in the case of consoles anyway), which is the actual job of a QA team. I found that testers had a much easier time when given a series of specific tasks rather then just being told "ok, you will test level 3 of the tower of Melchior. Just write anything you find." This was very bad for the testers, it reenforced that feeling of "we're at the bottom of this food chain and nobody cares". The worst days were when we were testing just to fill in the hours because we were waiting for a new build to download. Anyway Cant, I love this thread. Brings back memories.
  23. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Leave the rapist's fate into the hands of the victim's family. Let them decide what to do with the bastards. Slavery, torture, death, whatever. They all deserve it. Screw barbarisms and political correctness.
  24. And yet Mikhail keeps getting up. Anyway great finale. The flash forward completely took me by surprise. I think the corpse is Juliet. Why else would Kate say "Why would I go to the funeral?" Possibly Ben? Hurley = Data He always saves the day.
  25. Pirates3 : At World's End I remember being boared with the first two, especially the second which, except for the villain and the masterful performance by Bill Nighy, was a turd. But #3 was awesome. Non-stop action, very good pacing also, no character was underused(like Keira's in #2), the new characters(a bunch) don't take too much place, leaving the stage for those we already know, to let them finish this story once and for all. The only problem I had was that there is a plot twist but we can see it fifty miles away and the attempt to mislead the viewers is laughable. The ending is a bit strange also but not bad at all. Other than that, PoC3 looks and sounds great and is a lot of fun. I barely saw those 3 hours go by. A great pirate film, yarr! 8/10
