100% agree. I also wanted to have full control over companions builds and attributes. But without losing their banter and quests. In v2 I simply used console to redistribute their stats. But in v3, they reset back to default values on save load. Heh, before I noticed that, I've got quite puzzled why the hell did Kana start to go low so fast. Really? That sucks man...Maybe I have to think twice about starting a new playtrough... What a shame... Can anyone confirm this?

Looks very familiar! That's almost the way I play Kana - my Jack of all trades and master of pulling enemies. Obviously I make good use of the Island Aumaua racial, so my talents are a bit different on that part (Quick Switch, Arms Bearer, Weapon Focus Ruffian ----> Fellstroke for the Alpha Shot with Runner's Wounding Shot -----> 1 Blunderbuss for some mid-fight burst in combination with Ring of Searing Flames/ Combusting Wounds ----> Bittercut and Redfield for the main weapon set) and less defensive. But just like you suggested, I make good and frequent use of Munacra Arret, Ring of Searing Flames, Ring of Changing Heart and Redfield on him. I use the Aru-Brekr armor (+1 movement speed and ranged deflection bonus) - which also happens to look nice in combination with Redfield - for pulling the foes (out of stealth with Fellstroke) and than run back to my parties position. Once in position Kana switches to The Dragon Trashed & Aefyllath and use spellbind items and fire damage scrolls. One weapon slot is for all the spellbind enchanted weapons (so I change them from fight to fight): The Flames of Fair Rhian together with Scath Gwannek, Taluntain's Staff and Curoc's Brand. Because of the frequent use of all the scrolls and spellbind items I prefer a DEX score of 10. Redfield is very nice for an off-tank, more so if fighting side by side with a Paladin using Outworn Buckler. Funny that you use chanters in the same way than me. EDIT: Imo Bittercut is the better spellbind weapon for the main weapon set (different damage types) and it changes the colour based on the primary and secondary colours.

Some class-specific stuff: Time Parasite is a late game ability but absolutely sustainable (Time Parasite 50% + speed enchanted weapon 20% + durgan steel 15 % + Gauntlets of Swift Action 15% = 100%). Wizards have no problems reaching this either. Also wizards can stack Dexterity as high as it gets (thanks to Citzal's Martial Power) on top of that. Also ranged combatants obviously suffer way less from wearing cloth only (or durgan steel enhanced robes). Another spell worth mentioning is Nature's Bounty.

Alternative: Strike Hard (Exceptional*, Burning Lash*, Durgan-Refined*) & Badgradr's Barricade (Exceptional*, Durgan-Refined) Pretty good combo thanks to Sworn Enemy! Poor, poor casters... But then we need some color changes (White Crest Armor looks nice together with Badgradr's Barricade) and don't look so evil anymore: So we go for the Goldpact Knights (Enduring Flames instead of Remember Rakhan Field). The tradoff here would be some serious melee oumpf (!!!) for a reduction in movementspeed speed (-2 or -1 with Fast Runner). I'd then rise INT a bit (at the cost of RES) and spec into Sacred Immolation (to make good use of all the fire damage). To complete our mercenary team (and our fire power) we then hire Kana Rua. Boeroer you are a pretty damn good muse.

I've tested Tempered Helm a bit, because I planned on making a non fighter build with durgan refined medium armor and durgan refined shield. I wanted to keep the recovery penalty really low, while keeping the DR high. It seems that +5 DR per kill buff gets suppressed by either fine, exceptional or superb quality of the armor. EDIT: Nevermind...

No it has nothing to do with Coil of Resourcefulness. Even if you exploit like this with just Quick Switch (.5 weapon switch time remains) this is completely overpowered. Coil of Resourcefulness is only the tip of the iceberg. I mean, you could exploited the heck out of games like BG2 too, if you like the cheese, but this here is a whole new dimension. EDIT: Hahaha this is not even something new. Just found this old thread: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/76665-quick-switch-talent-ranged-weapon-no-recovery-time/ EDIT 2: I have to agree with Luckman:

Found some pretty overpowered ****. Completely and utterly removes all fun from the game, so be warned. I hope they fix it somehow. Used it only once for testing purposes and will never use this trick again. For maximum destruction use a Dwarf (doesn't matter, but we want to hit slow and hard) Barbarian (doesn't matter, but Carnage is just too good) for this (attributes without race/ background: 18 9 3 18 18 9): - equip 2 slow two-handers (doesn't matter; whatever you like the most) - spec into Quick Switch - equip Coil of Resourcefulness - engage combat and hit with your first weapon - pause immediately afterwards before the recovery bar shows up! - switch to your second weapon - hit and pause immediately afterwards - rise and reapeat Net gain: You attack with no recovery time (fully armored) and become the destroyer of worlds. You basically just hit, pause, switch, hit, pause switch... (zZzZzZzZ) Please tell me this has something to do with me using the IEMod and this is not possible in the unmodded game. It works with firearms too, but its much harder to maintain. If you are to slow, you have to reload them and are screwed... It works without Coil of Resourcefulness too.You then have a 0,5 second delay between your attacks (not a big deal), so it has nothing to do with this item (this belt makes it only slightly more op). EDIT: In the first place I wanted to test how good Coil of Resourcefulness and Quick Switch synergize together. I used pause to make use of the nullified recovery time. Was pretty shocked that you can rotate beween you weapons endlessly. EDIT 2: Or imagine a ranger using this exploit together with Sabra Marie and Stormcaller + Twinned Arrows. My, my...
