  1. Perhaps I'm completely ignorant and out of touch but what does EU stand for? I've heard this acronym about 10 trilling times now. -Samori
  2. Apparently none of them do. I was just joking around. Although in all seriousness I do hope there is a better selection of robes and armor. -Samori
  3. Well that's the easy part. They can merely shift things however they want to after what happened in KOTOR. For example you may have been completely on the light side of the force. But then one of your companions is brutally mudered and you go into a vengeful rage and in your quest for justice you turn back to the darkside. It's not a complicated matter at all it's just a matter of how they want to play it out. -Samori
  4. Your comments me nothing to me! You're an insignificant SPECKKKKK beneath my gaze! I have accomplished what you cannot and become what you never were! Do you think I want to play another KOTOR game with more hoochie robes around my male Jedi?! I would rather DIEEEEEE!! -Samori
  5. Yoda is a completely different example. He NATURALLY looks like he can't fight just because of his size. He was probably born looking feeble. That's not the same for a regularly human who became a Jedi and turned to the dark side. -Samori
  6. LMFAO I'm an imposter because I don't think like everyone else who has posted on this board? I didn't say it was a revolutionary idea but damn it wasn't THAT bad. If I could put a whip in Bastilia's hands I'm not so sure I wouldn't do it but that may just be me. I don't care one way or another. Jeez. -Samori
  7. Madalore is a planet it is mentioned several times in the game. Mandalore is a person. Canderous mentions that Revan kills him. I've played the game about 3 times as a light side jedi and about 5 as a dark side jedi. Never once is Mandalore mentioned as a planet. That's not to say that it's not but that is to say that the game doesn't mention it in such a way. I have a couple of questions however. I'm not very well versed in Star Wars lore. I've only seen the movies and now played KOTOR. So here's my questions: Are the Mandalorians a race or just a jumbled group of people? Were they created just for the KOTOR or have they been involved in Star Wars for quite a while? And last what was so great about Exar Kun that he deserves so much mention in KOTOR when he has nothing directly to do with the game? If somebody could answer these questions for me I'd appreciate it. Thanks. -Samori
  8. It's odd. The Star Wars universe encourages this concept that using the force to injure someone is inherently dark. However, using your skill in the Force to augment your ability with a lightsaber to kill is fine. Don't ask me why. It's not odd. Maybe I'm not thinking about this deeply enough but it seems to me a clear issue. There's a difference between PURPOSELY going around and robbing and assaulting people then there is EXPLORING and only attacking people and animals that attack you. The only person you attack that doesn't attack you first is maybe the female assassin on Taris. That's it. Everybody else you much less attack then you do defend yourself. But as a dark side Jedi you go around looking for people to kill and rob. As a light side Jedi you only kill when it's absoloutely necessary. What is odd or conflicting about this? -Samori
  9. The faces aren't too big a deal for me. The selection was mediocre but doable and the developers have already said they're going to add new faces. The helmets and masks could use a larger quantity but unlike a lot of people I wasn't that unimpressed with the look. The head band things look pretty gay but the actual masks(especially the sith mask and vaccum one you get at the end) were really cool to me. But those Jedi Robes have got the f***ing change. And I mean this in all seriousness. I'm going to know very soon if I'm going to be able to appreciate the upgrades in KOTOR2. Cause I swear to god if I have t see one more skin tight piece of cloth wrapped around my Jedi i'm going to puke. Please let this be upgraded in the next game because it is seriously in need of it. -Samori
  10. I fail to understand the logic behind this. You give Revan his personality. Every line of dialouge from his comes from you. If he doesn't have a sparkling personality it's through no fault but your own. Revan doesn't even move without you telling him too. You speak of him like some sort of outside presence idependent of your actions. If you don't like the personality that you gave him then for godsakes play the game agian and give him a different personality!! LOL And by the way HK-47 and Canderous are far superior to Bastilia. She's only good for getting a kiss and watching her run half-naked for the back. -Samori
  11. My sentiments exactly. -Samori
  12. LOL Yeah you have a point there. I see what yo're saying. -Samori
  13. It's not silly my friend. There's a difference between poisoning someone's sleeping pills and stabbing them to death in the throat. If a Jedi absoloutely must kill someone defend him/her then it's done as quickly and painlessly as possible. The idea of powers such as Kill and Insanity is that as a Sith not only do I want you to die but I also want you to either bow in fear while I do it or I want it to be as painful as possible. Neither is a method that a member of the Jedi order wuold employ. Also if you're a lightside Jedi you don't just go around killing people. You kill those who attempt to kill you. It's clear that you're going to defend yourself as a Jedi so the council wouldn't object to this. However as a Dark Side Jedi you can go around collecting bounties, killing and robbing innocent people, and even start skirmishes with people who would've otherwise left you alone. These are the things that bring you closer to the dark side not defending yourself against evil Jedi that are sent by Malak to kill you. And on one last note if there is any way whatsoever to avoid conlfict then usually you have to do so in order not to receive a dark side hit. You must bargain with the Sand people, you must at least attempt to settle the dispute of the two families etc. etc. etc. Otherwise you choose to accept the dark side. -Samori
  14. I'm not so sure. Take The Emporer for example. It definitely looks like the Dark Side coursing through him is taking it's toll. However it also looks like that's all he has to offer from a combat standpoint. Nothing about him says that if yoda steps in front of his seat he can pick up a light saber and defend himself. If someone is able to fend off his lighting attacks he's basically done for. I don't think that's fair or even legitimate. To me if you have the power of the dark side coursing through you, you should be an even stronger and more vicious fighter. Bodies with the light side going through them would be less adept at that level of viciousness and aggressiveness. -Samori
  15. There were gray areas it's just that these responses didn't give you a dark or light hit. For example when you're on Taris you run into a lot of people that have bounties on their heads. If you want a light side hit you can help them out. If you want a dark side hit you can kill them and collect a bounty. However the gray area is simply deciding to leave them alone. You don't kill them but you don't bend over backward to help them either. But I do agree that this could be implemented slightly better in KOTOR2. But hell anything can be upgraded no matter how great it is. -Samori
  16. Once again I must disagree. There's a hell of a lot of difference between choking someone to death while cutting them down then there is between paralyzing someone to the point that THEY CANNOT ATTACK YOU and then doing what you feel is necessary. The mere fact that the name of the power is kill should tell you it's a dark side power. And droids aren't human so I don't put it in the same category. And the power is neutral if I remember by the way.
  17. And now that I think about it considering that you can kill his son once again it might be hard to implement him. So I'd venture to say it's just Carth. -Samorib
  18. Carth will be in the game no matter what you choose in the original. There isn't a way to kill Carth whether you're on the light side or the dark side. On the light side you fight with him and on the dark side he runs away while you're on the unknown planet. There was something mentioned about Telos that someone was starting a reconstruction effort. I can't imagine it would be anyone else but Carth and maybe his son. I've already said my piece about Bastilia in another part but suffice to say I don't see how she can really be completely implemented in the game. I guess we'll see. -Samori
  19. I can't see how the developers could really implement her character. In this first game you had a clear cut option of killing her. With that in mind how could the developers immerse her in the guy and still add a sense of continuity from the first game. My thoughts are that neither Bastilia, Juhani, Jolee or Mission can really be deep in the game because of this fact. Even Big Z is suspect since you can kill him too. Only Canderous, Carth and the droids could be added without there being a completely different experience for the light compared to the dark. And somehow I think that would take more time than the developers have. -Samori
  20. That's one way to look at it. Another way is to say that perhaps some of the other jedi felt confined by merely using a sword or saber. There are many different types of melee weapon's such as swords, nunchucks, sai's and the like. What if before a person became aware of their affinity for the force they were already well taught with a specific type of weapon? Woule they be so quick to abandon their nunchucks and pick up a sword? No. So they tailor it to their own benefit. It especially fits in the case of a member of the sith who wants to completely step away from the jedi and therefore not only accepts the dark side of the force but also steps away from their weapon of choice as well. Do I like the idea or do I feel like it should be implemented? No. But is it some horrific blasphemous statement that should be damned for eternity? No. -Samori
  21. Then I was wrong. My apologies to everyone who had it right. -Samori
  22. Black is the culmination of all colors. White is completely devoid of color. I'm not a genuis and I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure about this. There are many different colors available for KOTOR not limited to but including orange, brown, teal, aqua blue, gray, silver(which isn't necessarily the same as gray), gold, black(I think white only works in dark settings), and cream(which might work better) just to name a few. It has also been mentioned several times that the workbench will receive a thorough upgrade. Perhaps we will get the ability to combine regularly colored crystals(such as blue and red) to form a new color. This would be more time consuming but it would also make for a much more customized lightsaber. -Samori
  23. I don't think it's a particularly good idea. It's not the horrid idea that some of the other people have tried to make it out to be. But I think Quun hit the nail on the head when he said that there's something about a lightsaber that just shouldn't be mucked with. Changing the hilts is somewhat passible. But beyond that I think some things need to be left well enough alone. -Samori
