  1. Yes but the problem with the game is it's not long enough. It always leads to the same ending, so there's no point in playing even if you do whatever you want in it. "The end justifies the means." It not being long enough and it having only two endings are two COMPLETELY different problems. The game could have several different endings based on what you do and still be the same length.
  2. Ixon and Old School asked me to explain what I meant in an earlier topic within this forum. So I included my answer in this forum. That's all. My suggestion is stop saying that KOTOR needs to be longer. LOL I don't think I did...sorry....  I meant to say Steve. My bad.
  3. Perhaps that is not the cap for all Jedi's but it's how much better you can become from simple combat alone. Perhaps to advance past that level requires tutoring from a more powerful Jedi. Yoda for some and Palantine for others.
  4. But by that same argument a lightsaber would also limit your ability to submit to the force, since you are relying on something other than your force affinity to get things done. Whether it is to disable, kill, or intimidate your opponent. Or to protect yourself from blaster bolts or what have you. No offense, your idea is better than most others I have heard but it does not have everything covered. TripleRRR I have to disagree because, and once again I may be wrong, from what I understand you MUST have an affinity with the force in order to use a lightsaber. If you see a dead Jedi you can't just pick up his/her lightsaber and start swinging. Otherewise why the hell would anyone ever pick up a Viroblade? Plus when you pick up Bastilia you can't use her Lightsaber until you become a Jedi. Form my understanding lightsabers and The Force are connected and a saber is the chosen weapon of those who believe in the Force. It's not just some random weapon.
  5. I don't think so. Because it's not natural lighting it comes from the force. Because if that was the case it would attack any party members you have as well and it clearly doesn't. When you cast Insanity it would affect everyone around you including your friends. But since the force works through you I think you have more control over it's general application.
  6. Dual sabers is more effective because it's more "weightless" for lack of a better word. It requires true skill and effectiveness to hit with a single bladed lightslaber. But with a double saber you can swing that bad boy around and hack of a couple of limbs within seconds. The whole idea of mastering two handed fighting is so that you get better with it and use it to the uptmost advantage. Anyone who has mastered two handed dueling would know the faults of it and therefore they're not going to get into a lightsaber pushing match with someone who has one saber. They're going to keep moving, keep swinging and keep beating down the fools who use single bladed sabers. Darth Maul rocks.
  7. Spellmar says 'Ecstatic' /nitpick Thanks. I never did know how to spell that damn word.
  8. True but I associate myself with a character and I can't connect with being a woman.
  9. Hey thanks man I appreciate it.
  10. I tried to go through the game as a female but it was too weird. Coming on to Carth? I simply can't bring myself to that low.
  11. He was questioning if it should go into another topic because there was no suggestion involved. I think... It's true, there is hours of replay value. If your one of those players that tries to find everything in the game you'll be playing for a long, long time... and probably look like this: I'm not one of those players. I'll try and find everything in the game with one character but thats where I'll stop. I can't see myself playing again after that, even if I can choose a different class, weapons, powers, attacks etc. Then again, I do own the game and down the road I may want to dig into it again... But see players like that can't really complain because they're not trying to fully experience the game as it is anyway. You've decided what you're going to do and that's pretty much as far as you will go. So you can't complain if that only takes 20 or 30 hours when there's about 20 or so hours worth of replay value that you refuse to indulge in. Now if a person plays it at least 80% through and feels like it's really lacking in lenght(like say Max Payne) THEN there is a legitimate beef. Don't get me wrong. I love the game. I'll only complain about little things that may need changes, never the game though. It didn't take me 20hr to finish. I was too into it. I had to listen to all the dialogue and carefully pick my answers. Then when I found out I was Revan I couldn't decide which side I truely wanted to be on. I got right into the story. Finding out that I was Revan was one of those times when I wished I had more friends who played video games. I just wanted to call everyone who was playing SW: KOTOR and tell them I was Revan. I was so esthatic.
  12. Alright one of the topics that hasn't come up recently but that I've seen a lot refernces the relationship(or lack thereof) between armor and force powers. Some people felt like it was ridiculous to say that armor would block any type of force powers if the force is everywhere. I have a question that I guess slightly disputes that. But mind you I don't know anything about SW besides the movies and KOTOR. So I may be way off. From playing the game it seems like the idea is(at least to DS Jedi) that the more you submit to the force the more powerful you become. Yuthura Ban mentioned that the perfet Jedi are the ones who know there is no limits except those that you put on your mind. And that the whole purpose of training is to expand your mind more and more to the possibilities of what the force can do. To submit yourself to the Force's will. Doesn't wearing armor defeat all of that? Doesn't wearing armor automatically mean that somewhere in the back of your mind you feel like metal and leather are going to do a better job of protecting you than the force will. And therefore you're not really trusting yourself to the capablities of the force but rather to something else. Wouldn't that make you a considerably less effective or powerful Jedi? If I'm way off or just thinking this through too much let me know but this was my take on it.

  15. The replay of value of KOTOR is immense in my opinion because of your virtually complete control throughout the game. It's not just Darkside or Lightside. What class do you want to have. Based on that class what do you want to focus on. And even if you learn towards a particular alignment your choices STILL might change. Sure I may kill everyone in my path on Taris but I could also liberate the Wookies on Kashykk if that's the way I felt. I'm free to be as moody as I want to be. Sometimes I'm a blood thirsty thug othertimes I'm the epitome of a do-gooder. And sometimes this is all in the same game. You have choices about the character you play with and how you develop them as well. Playing with Mission is a hell of a lot different than playing with Canderous. Canderous is different from Juhani and so on. This adds another level of replay value depending on what you're trying to accomplish. Basically what I'm saying is that any game with that much freedom involved in it has a ton of replay value. Your control your characters, creation, development, alignment and look. And for the most part the same is true for the NPC's you travel with. Is it Final Fantasy? No but it's not supposed to be. I don't want a 80 hour game. I'll probably die before I complete it anyway. I want a game that I can sit down with for a couple of weeks and temporarily immerse myself in the Star Wars universe. And I think KOTOR did an OUTSTANDING job of that and I believe KOTOR II will follow in the same footsteps probably upping the level and taking things a step further.
  16. It wouldn't be good. Maybe a side quest that you do for him but not him as an actual member of your party. That's just terrible.h
  17. Keep your brothers and sisters away from the screen sounds good to me. The kids can go see Episode III, the rest of us can play a mature rated KOTOR II. Cheers! I second that emtoin.
  18. What worries me is that it looks like you're fighting with him. Please don't tell me some huncback old man is one of your party members. That would really be a let down.
  19. Take it back. Make me.... Take it back you will.
  20. But how personable are Sith Lords really supposed to be? I don't know, but I think he seems more...I don't know the word for it...it's getting too late... My sentiments exactly. But as wide, red and watery as my eyes are I simply can't pull them away from the screen.
  21. Keyshawn Johnson will bring them up several levels from where they were before. Just Give Him the Damn Ball!!!!
  22. But how personable are Sith Lords really supposed to be?
  23. Revan turns to the dark side simply for giving into his emotions. Sion needs the dark side and the dark side needs Sith members like him for more hate energy to feed off of. They go together like batteries and cd players. Darth Sion is a true Sith Lord. Sorry it's getting late.
