  1. If you take the time to read this thread in its entirity, you'll understand that the problem that I have (and a few other people too from the looks of it) with the double-bladed lightsaber is that it makes NO sense in the star wars universe to have a novice using a weapon that is supposed to be extremely hard to wield. This weapon, for the most part, is a gimmik. Still, it has always been described (even in KOTOR) as a weapon that takes a long time and lots of practice to wield effectively. The same can be said for the regular lightsaber, but it applies more so for the dual saber. Therefore, for the sake of immersion, this weapon should be restricted as a prestige weapon.
  2. I agree with that Victus. It's not that I hate the Sith Lightsaber, I just think it should be a prestige weapon and as such, I would love to have the ability to choose between having one side active or both and switch between them on the fly.
  3. I may be wrong (and if I am I apologize in advance) but I think it's like this: In Kotor, the Sith is like the Empire. After Kotor and during the time of Episode I, there was only supposed to be 2 Sith at any one time. This was the rule of duality started by Darth Bane. Dark Jedi, on the other hand, is a term used to classify any jedi that uses the dark side.
  4. I don't think Tyrell was trying to say that the Rakatans are as bloodthirsty as the Aztecs. He was tring to say (correct me if I'm wrong T) that they're alike because at first they both seem really primitive, but at closer inspection you realize that they are far more advanced then you would have ever imagined.
  5. You're splitting hairs. It doesn't matter if there IS a difference between the Sith saber or a double-bladed one (which I seriously doubt), the point is that there needs to be more restrictions for the usage of the weapon.
  6. I didn't know neutral FLAVORED the light... interesting.
  7. I agree with Tyrell, it would be cool to at least see the Rakata again, if not have them join your party. They had an interesting heritige and displayed an obvious prowess for technology. I can't see how you wouldn't want one around!!! And just becaue Bioware created their backstory means nothing. They have to get approval from Lucasarts to put any new race, location, weapon into KOTOR. And guess who LucasArts has to answer to???? The SW universe is diverse enough that we should expect to see different races in action, not the same ones recycled over and again. I'm tired of seeing hutts, jawas, and rodians everywhere I turn. In fact, why stop there? I would like to see a male Cathar. Juhani was a cool character, but at the same time she did get on my nerves. Make a Gamorrean playable. Maybe an Ewok. The sky is the limit and that's the beauty of the SW Universe.
  8. WHAT MAKES A MAN TURN NEUTRAL... LUST FOR GOLD? POWER? OR WERE YOU JUST BORN WITH A HEART FULL OF NEUTRALITY??!!?? -zapp brannigan :D :D :D :D :D I think most people are neutral when you really get down to it. It isn't greed or some self-righteous bs, but indifference that causes a man to be a grey character. I think that someone who doesn't really care about what happens one way or another would be grey.
  9. I agree about making lightsabers more deadly. I think it would add a touch of realism. It would also force the devs to make the fights more involved, much more parrying, counter attacks and so on. In the end, having the lightsabers more deadly would lead to raising the bar for all the combat in the game. (Of course that wouldn't be the case in a fight with non-Jedi vs Jedi....)
  10. He meant IMPOSING. I hate it when people have a flame-fest over a typo...
  11. Just did some more digging on this and found something interesting. (Acoording to StarWars.com and the Star Wars Databank) The double-bladed saber is called a Sith Lightsaber. It is called this because only Sith have EVER used this weapon. I'm not saying that it's impossible that a Jedi/Sith like Revan could have wielded such a weapon, but I seriously doubt everyone did during that time, especially the Jedi.
  12. All I'm saying is that the Sith came from Korriban, so it is possible for a few remnants to remain there, even if in secrecy and seclusion. Beyond that, check your facts before you go around flaming people needlessly.
  13. ---Just for you Seth Tansill Despite what Drakon says, the original Sith were NOT some kind of undevolped cavemen. They were a tribal race true, but no less developed than the ewoks or possibly even the wookies. Additionally, they were force adepts despite the fact that not one of them really had any idea what the force was or the tremendous power they wielded. Also, they were not human, but almost insectlike creatures. Once the original outcast Jedi discovered the Sith's unique ablities, they enslaved them on their homeworld of KORRIBAN. Over several generations the Human Jedi and the Sith began to interbreed until their bloodlines became one. (info courtesy of Star Wars Databank http://www.starwars.com/databank/organization/thesith/?id=eu ) This means that it would be possible to encounter Sith relics, artifacts, or even remnant Sith(the species) somewhere on the planet Korriban.
  14. If you check out the beginning of Episode I, you'll notice that the doors shown on the ship are exactly like the ones in KOTOR.
  15. IGN has 3 new screens which feature a Jedi fighting multiple Sith. I imagine this is only one variation of the Sith you fight in-game, but I have to say that I prefer the new look to the old. At least they look like actual people with different faces (assuming Hendar doesn't make an appearance) http://media.xbox.ign.com/media/679/679264/img_2174930.html
  16. I just mean that maybe it would be cool to have another jedi in your party that your character is constantly competing with. (Both trying to become the better Jedi but more to the point better than the other)
  17. Maybe it's just me but it seems that bioware seemed a little lacking in all aspects regarding uniform/clothing options. (and no this isn't queer eye for the Jedi) I think they need to get some of those artists to work!!! The new jedi robes look 1000% better so I'm sure they spent some time on the sith as well. Here's hoping anyway...
  18. I had a Dev post on one of my threads today. He said (in a way) that the jedi in KOTOR2 will be able to slice open locked doors (like in TPM) instead of slashing at them in the original KOTOR
  19. As much fun as KOTOR multiplayer would be, I think some things are best left undone. The guys at Obsidian are busy enough trying to nail down all the MUCH needed improvements in single player. I would hate to have the single player expierence suffer in anyway, even if it is for some really awesome multiplayer.
  20. Hey thanx a lot Raven! Just trying to maybe get some thoughts out there for the Devs and hopefully give them something to think about.... Anyway, what do you guys think about the use of two lightsabers at once? I think it should be restricted as well and maybe even more so.... call me old school but nothing beats one jedi one saber.
  21. While some of these thoughts have been posted previously on other threads I have to say I agree with them all. Particularly the part about the double-bladed saber. I just vented all my rage about that weapon on a seperate thread, but man it irritates me how over-used it was!!!!
  22. Exactly! I admit that I'm not crazy about either the double-bladed saber or using two sabers at once, but if you have to do it, then make it an ability that you aspire to obtain, not just something that any padawan can do after two days' training...
  23. Mandalore is a person AND a planet. The leader of the Mandalorians chose the title Mandalore for some reason or another....probably to confuse everyone. (And I would like to learn more about Exar Kun as he was supposed to be the greatest Sith Lord ever.)
  24. Thank you!!! I knew if I whined enough my cries would be heard!!!
