  1. That's a really good idea. If the Devs can do it this time around, it would be awesome.
  2. It's really touching to see the power of love at work.... *tries not to cry*
  3. You're so right about that it almost hurts. KH really started to snowball after its launch. When it released I managed a gamestore while working through college, and we just couldn't believe how at first noone bought it. After about 45 days, we couldn't keep it in stock!!! I really think Obsidian is doing the right thing by letting the fans voice their opinions and concerns. Not many, if any, of the "big" devs really do this in the same manner. I think that if you come up with a unique idea, then find that it will be or already has been implemented, it makes the fan feel like he's made an impact on the game, even if it is in the smallest of aspects. I like that.
  4. To say that KOTOR is an homage is a cop out for lacking any real imagination. Fact is, it happened because they lacked any real vison in designing the characters. The game was great, but much of it, we've seen before. How many times can we see Tatooine before we realize that it's just a sandpit and there's nothing of interest to see or do there? Don't try to make excuses.
  5. I did exactly that, on the xbox version, and Juhani was nowhere to be found.
  6. Again, sorry guys. Especially to Akari who has more important things to do, I'm sure, than to read posts about things that have already been fixed.
  7. I searched for something like this, but found nothing. If I missed it then I apologize for spamming.
  8. I've seen people talking about this all over the place but noone has dedicated a thread to the topic. Until now!!!! One of the problems in the original KOTOR was that many of the characters had little or no real usefullness. I'm talking about Mission, TM, and to a small extent Jolee. These characters were basically outclassed by the others due to their lack of real firepower. Sure, TM could hack like nobody's business, but if you have the spikes, you don't need him at all. Mission had stealth, but so did Juhani. Jolee had a great selection of force powers, but many times his lack of health made him more of a liability than an asset. Many times, it was very easy to train your character (even to a small extent) to learn the abilities of the weaker characters, (like stealth, comp. use ect) making them completely useless. Not one to point out problems without proposing solutions, here's my fix: Give the characters special abilities and/or weapons unique to that character. For example, I read that the new female bounty hunter has some type of wrist mounted rocket launcher. A step in the right direction. But don't stop there!!! Continue with this and give all the characters something unique like this!!!! This really is important for the balancing of characters!!!
  9. Also, I think the same should apply to dual saber wielding as well.
  10. I think that guy was an Iridorian (or something close to that). He was pretty intense... A must have for any Darksider!!!
  11. KOTOR wasn't intended to be a copy of the origional trilogy. The devs simply drew on characters they knew wouldn't fail, instead of taking a chance on too many new characters. What is this crap you say about the game was not meant to be origional? The devs made it 4000 years before the movies to try and tell a new story and be ORIGIONAL. It's ok...better luck with your next post newbie. OWNAGE!!!
  12. While a wrist-mounted rocket launcher may sound kinda out there, it might be cool. If the rockets are very small, a little larger than darts, it might turn out to be very cool.
  13. I think this is a step in the right direction. They NEED to give ALL the NPC's their own unique abilites or weaponry. They hinted at this in KOTOR with Canderous' bio implant. This would give each character something usefull to contribute to the party. In KOTOR, I would think of taking someone like Mission along but stop myself saying, "she'll just get owned, better take HK or Canderous". But if she had something unique to offer, she might not have been warming the bench all the time.
  14. I'm not so sure that they were trying to draw a parallel to the original trilogy. If they were, IMO, it just came of as being unimaginative and recycled. Truly orginal characters are what everyone wants. At the same time, wookies and R2 units have become a staple of Star Wars, in video games or otherwise. These type of characters give people that sense of familiarity. So what's needed is to strike a balance between bringing back different versions of familiar characters and coming up with totally new ones. Its important to keep moving forward with new types of character to keep the SW universe fresh. Otherwise our great great grandchildren will be stuck playing as re-imaginings of Chewie and Artoo.
  15. Ooh, yes, it can be like the overlooked Monster Garage game. Tighten some bolts here, cut some siding there, add a new power source there. Wait, now I remember why the only people who bought that name were named 'Zeke', 'Jedediah', or 'Billy-Bob' and lived in or near the Mississippi Basin...IT SUCKED! LMFAO :D :D
  16. Yeah, I think that's really where the line gets blurred. Once the Sith go from being a species then to a group of elite darkside Jedi then to a militant group similar to the Empire all using the same name, things can get confusing. Maybe, just maybe, they should've thought of a new name when the group evolved like this :D
  17. If that's true, I'd be royaly impressed. As much as I loved the first, each party member was interchangeable to me. I mean, they were different, but for the most part I just picked the guy who annoyed me the least (HK) If this is true then obsidian is trying to create some characters with truly unique abilites and usefullness. Sweet
  18. I have to admit that when I posted this thead, it was just something that occured to me and I didn't really think much about it before posting. But from what you've said, I've kinda switched views on the thing. I think you're absolutely right about the force not having any sort of middle ground. Any real effort to create that sort of neutrality in the force would come off as a cheap ploy or a gimmik. And that's why we are limited to dark or light
  19. I really like the idea of adding fear to the combat system. I know I would be intimidated to say the least if I had to fight against a saber wielding jedi! As far as the Devs go, the only way I know to tell if they see your post is if they reply. I'd be willing to bet there was another way, but I don't know it.
  20. THANK YOU!!! Finally!!! I was really wondering if I was speaking Greek or something. That's all I've been saying--in a nutshell of course. (BTW--Victus, if your signature is about my earlier comment, it was directed toward drekron not you )
  21. Being an apprentice to the Dark Lord of the Sith is not the same as being some sort of Jedi Newb or anything. He's basically number 2 in the ranking of the Sith....the only person more powerful is the Dark Lord himself. Hence, Darth Maul being only an "apprentice" doesn't mean much IMO. That's exactly what I'm saying. There's a definitive difference between Maul's apprentice status and the apprentice status used in KOTOR. Maul was THE apprentice to the Sith lord. That's a title only held by one person. The dark apprentices appearing seemingly everywhere in KOTOR were NOT unique in their status.
  22. D---My arguement validates itself. I tire of trying to explain to you why it makes sense. Just accept that it does and chalk it up to one of those things you can't manage to fully understand and hope that one day you might be able to. Now leave the important stuff to the adults and don't interrupt daddy when he's talking.
  23. Ok listen carefully and I'll try really really hard to use small words so you can understand. We're talking about KOTOR 2 not the first one, the next one. The one that's still in development (that means they're still making it). There will be more than 20 levels, this much we already know. In fact they are discussing (that means talking about) removing the level cap altogether. (that means that you can raise your level as much as you like) Once you meet the requirements to "graduate" to a prestige class (do stuff so you can be a badass), you should be granted the feat to use this weapon along with one of these prestige classes.(they give it to you along with your badass status). There. I really hope this helps you understand.
  24. I don't know about kicking them off, but the devs said that party members will leave your party based on your actions and force orientaton.
