  1. I have no idea, sorry. Mine only occasionally crashes, so it's workable. I hope a dev or someone more knowledgeable can help you.
  2. I know it says allies, but heal spells heal the caster as well. Hmm, I guess it's still a tiny bit useful for my other tank, but not as good as I thought. Maybe Darkozzi is better for tank...
  3. I'd like to crawl these ".conversation" files as well, to find things like the highest value that is checked for each skill or attribute. Any way I can do that on a Mac?
  4. When I use it, the spell icon when you mouse over character portraits at the bottom of the screen only shows up on other nearby allies, not the paladin herself. MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014) OS X 10.10.3.
  5. This may seem obvious, but will it also do twice the damage? It should, but this game can be kind of wonky when it comes to Int's effects on DPS.
  6. First, how do you have 10.10.4? I just checked for updates and none available, I'm on 10.10.3. MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), 1.0.6 Mac GoG version. I occasionally experience a crash when switching zones, or right after I save, or when I start a new game right after the opening dialogue is over with Odema and Calisca.
  7. Thanks you for that. Sometimes it seems my Moon Godlike isn't being healed, but I suppose it's possible that she just took a colossal hit and is still low. I will pay very close attention from now on. BTW since you are playing on Mac as well, how are you taking screenshots that show up? Command-shift-3 results in an all black screenshot for me. I don't know if it could have something to do with the fact I'm using integrated graphics (MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014)). Mac OS X 10.10.3. PS I am still not seeing the Shielding Flames buff on myself from the Shieldbearer ability on FoD. It only appears on other nearby allies. Maybe I should make a new thread about this...
  8. Update: it's not just Silver Tide. The Deflection bonus from Shieldbearer FoD doesn't apply to herself either, only to others.
  9. I'm almost certain that DR bypass from talents and weapons stack, but I'm not the ultimate authority on this. There is also the wizard spell "Expose Vulnerabilities."
  10. How does Shatterstar compare with Measured Restraint in your opinion, a rapier from one of the early Od Nua levels?
  11. Now, as much as I'm still not convinced that changing stats around is necessary in the first place, I do think this is a very interesting idea. If the developers are determined to devote time to this, Crucis' idea is worth looking at. Though personally, I'd be much more excited about the return of auto attack and fixing my Moon Godlike's Silver Tide so it heals me and not just everyone else. PS in regards to something that was said in another thread, again if the developers are determined to devote time to this that they could be spending fixing bugs, also adding in a free respec would be about not feeling cheap using the console. I know it can be done, but it feels like cheating, and I've avoided using it so far. Thank you.
  12. Wait, how do you take a screenshot on the Mac GoG version that actually shows up? When I take a screenshot with command-shift-3, it comes out all black. I had a perfect example of this bug to show, I swear! Edit: A thought just occurred to me, that perhaps party order affects this. It's a stab in the dark, but party order affects other things you wouldn't expect, like the "random" items you get. Update: I switched party order with the tank in question either in slot 1 or slot 2, and Silver Tide fails to hit her either way.
  13. What happens is that when I find a story companion and swap out an adventurer for him, his place is incorrect in the formation. This has happened with both Durance and Kana. Everyone else's place remains fine, but the new PC ends up moving toward the front when I want him toward the back. Has anyone else experienced this, and would a save file help? Edit: Ok it seems that, with this one, it fixed itself. I don't know whether the trick was reloading the save file or restarting the game application. It's still a bug, but one that fixes itself is less of an issue of course.
  14. I have experienced it many times in combat that my main (a Moon Godlike paladin tank) heals everyone in the party *except* herself when Silver Tide triggers. It even shows that way in the combat log. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Has anyone else experienced this? I will take a screen snapshot the next time it happens. Would my save file help?
  15. It definitely stacks on steam currently, hopefully it will stack for you once the update hits GoG. Well that would be pretty OP, but I wouldn't complain lol.
  16. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=416939844&insideModal=1 He gives good info and advice for min-maxers. It took me a while to wrap my head around it, but eventually I came around to building my Moon Godlike Shieldbearer paladin tank 15/3/4/18/20/18. This gives me good AOE healing from Moon Godlike Silver Tide, unshakable will (I'm thinking the very worst thing for a tank would be to be charmed, because this completely breaks his main purpose and makes enemies randomly attack anyone else), half-decent Reflex, and super high Deflection and Concentration. PS Silver Tide is broken for me on the Mac GoG version 1.0.6, in that it sometimes heals everyone except myself. I will take a screenshot and make a bug report about this. Still, it works often enough to be worth having, and it does reliably heal everyone else.
  17. Thank you very much. You are like the one go-to person for game mechanics info here it seems lol, I found some of your other info useful. Oh yeah, one possibility I didn't list is that Recall Agony might only be based on either the last hit, or damage done up to a certain length of time before it's cast. The tooltip doesn't specify that it's all the damage done so far in an encounter, but that's what I imagine the designers most likely intended.
  18. Outworn buckler doesn't stack. It looks like it does when you're out of combat, but as soon as you enter combat you see the items with defenses suppressed. I have written about this on other threads. Who knows though, maybe certain game versions are different. I'm playing the 1.0.6 GoG Mac version.
  19. Thanks for the strategy advice Wolken. I also don't know that you're in the minority about minimizing Con, at least among the people whose advice I've read who sound like they know what they're doing. It seemed pretty unorthodox and hard to swallow at first, but eventually I came around to making my main a paladin tank with maxed Per/Int/Res and minimized Con/Dex with the rest in Str. Moon Godlike, female dwarf body largely for the humor value. She's not doing too shabby so far :D.
  20. I'm not saying it'd be bad, I'm just saying I wouldn't be that excited about the change, I could take it or leave it. It's my personal feeling, nothing more, but the personal feelings of gamers are important to developers. From my point of view, I've restarted the game way too many times just to optimize my stats, so at this point I'd rather continue and enjoy the game instead of having to start over and rethink how to optimize yet again. I say there are tradeoffs, yes it would be a good change in some ways, just not that necessary IMHO, but if they do implement it they ought to give us a free respec.
  21. They can solve that fairly easily by putting shades, AoE casters and ranged attackers into all the encounters. Yeah that's brilliant lol... I like to relax a bit with some standard tank-and-spank after a lvl 3 visit to the depths of the Temple of Eothas on PoTD :D.
  22. Thanks for the explanation Hoople. Yeah, monks are funny guys. It's not a concept I've wrapped my head around or learned to embrace at this point, being a masochist who wants to get hit and feel the pain lol. To each his own I guess, maybe someday, but I have already lost too much of my life to this game haha
  23. I hope we'll get to respec if Perception affects Accuracy after 1.07. I second what Bubbles said. Please, if you're going to implement this much of a build-changer, also implement a one-time option for each character in your party AND stronghold besides the story companions, to reassign their stats. Personally, I'd still feel ambivalent about the leaked change as it appeared. It'd be a tradeoff overall, and I'm not sure if it'd be worth the effort to implement along with a one-time free respec.
  24. lol... just checked GoG.com and no update, at least not for Mac. Yeah it'd be real nice if we could all be on the same page here!
  25. As for the original topic of this thread, I would only welcome such a fundamental change if it came with a free respec for all your characters, meaning that you had the option to reset each of the characters in your party or stronghold one time to level 1, keeping their XP. Even then, I would feel ambivalent about the change. Casters already need to max three stats (Str, Dex and Int), leaving only a little leeway for things like good dialogue choices. This change would give them a fourth stat they "need to" max, which is impossible, so something would have to give just to have an optimal character for combat alone. On the other hand, it would give physical DDs another very valuable stat, which you could argue would bring them up to par with three stats they "need to" max. For tanks, it would be a real head-scratcher. Imagine a paladin tank who already has to make choices like minimizing Con in order to maximize Per, Int and Res. You may not need accuracy as much as DDs do, but you don't want it to be so bad that your Knock Down or Flames of Devotion never connect. The change would be a tradeoff for sure. As I say, the only way I'd welcome it is if it came with a free respec, and I'm not sure all that is necessary. Just my 2 cents.
