IMHO : BPM Barbaric Smash + St Omaku or Veilpiercer or Frostseeker BPM Crushing Blow + Rod modal or Frostseeker (with a good multiclass, you can burn your rage into an instant AoE) I'm absolutely fond of rods in general. Rod of the Deep Hunter is especially great because its debuff makes it as good vs crowd as vs bosses. Amira's Wing is just too cool with its devastating spells with weapon quality bonus and focus regen.

Yeah, clear out attack twice the main target. It is known (at least by me). Clear out does the following : 1) weapon attack main target vs fortitude 2) attack all targets (including first) vs fortitude, only to push and prone with zero damages 3) if 2) is successful, all targets (including first) get a wepon attack vs fortitude super weird BPM : - basically fused 2) and 3) which are now resolved by a single roll. - kept the main target attacked twice - applied a -25% damage reduction for all attacks to compensate for the double attack. It was the best I could do.

It's a different topic but similar, I have just realized after all that time that barbaric blow & upgrades can be used with ranged weapon. That is not super interesting because you loose the carnage bonus and these abilities are any way very meh. But with BPM mod changes, this is super interesting. The no recovery BPM upgrade is even enough to sell a ranged (or semi ranged) barbarian (the Rod modal is especially good, the reload weapons much less since reload has a absolute minimum).

I would indirectly alter a lot of other abilities with an arguably more potent effect except for the said purpose. It's a way more radical change than the current one I would say. I won't fix the problem of Persistent Distraction making other Distracted inflicting abilities redundant. Also I'm quite satisfied with the current effects, so I won't change them.

Nope, it is always a random used slot within the define max level. High tier spells are quite hard to get back, but IMHO that is quite balanced. Remember a martial class only get 1 point, so by getting a high tier spell, even rarely, you still gain more. And no, it is not possible to make any kind of priority or to force a regen between tier 6 and 9.T he only existing effect is "regen a random used slot between tier 1 and tier x" where x is parameter. Note the best way to get extra mileage from BPM Brilliant is to use exactly 1 tier 3, 1 tier 6 and 1 tier 9. You'll regen the tier 3 at 3s, tier 6 at 9s and tier 9 at 15s. New instances of Brilliant will restart the cycle at 3. But if the same effect is reapplied before it wears off, you're basically EXTENDING the effect so the counter isn't reset (the same trick applies if you reapply an effect on en identical but empowered effect : the Empowerment gets extended).

You like Eld Nary ? You like Bellower ? Then you'll like the new BPM minor version that basically does only that : Deadfire Balance Polishing Mod at Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) The Bellower Power Level bonus lasts until next invocation (when it is replaced by the new, even if worse). So you'll get the full benefit of Power Level (Acc, PEN, damages, slowing effect duration, additional bounces) for Eld Nary and its upgrade (I haven't found another Invocation which would get similar benefit). Okay if somehow you manage to recast an invocation before the end of Eld Nary (or more likely its upgrade), the PL might be altered (to worse or better), but shouldn't change much the result. (e.g. If you cast Eld Nary with 5 phrases Empowered by Sasha's and then immediately a 7 phrases Invocation, you'll even get a couple more PL for Eld Nary, but it is marginal and even quite fun I think). Sorry for the minor versions spam. I could have waited more, but due to personal constraints, I prefer to do it this way this time.

Me too. You just keep repating the same arguments about Troubadour being the most versatile subclass, which everyone agrees. Which translates automatically in your mind into Troubadour is the best. Which isn't that obvious, because other subclasses are just better at what they do. I took time to give you numbers about raw power, that you didn't even answer to. That's quite hard to discuss, because it is my main point : Troubadour are like the most versatile, but they are not the best at combining both aspects of the subclass. They HAVE TO choose one side. The context of this part isn't clear to me. Everyone in this thread suggests other subclasses. You mean other threads ? Simply, because without BPM nerf, it is undeniably the most OP subclass. Doubling the phrase generation is just soooo broken. Extending linger is just the icing on the cake. Without BPM nerf, I have a hard time not to recommand Troubadour for almost any build. It works better for everything that isn't a niche. To swap everything, you need to pick a tons of abilities. To have best invocation abilities, you need the base and the upgrade. Chanters, esp mutliclass ones tend to end up with less abilities than you want in my experience. Like 3-5 chant, a couple of generalist talents, 4-5 upgraded invocation, a couple of unupgraded ones = your chanter half. Some possibilities, but you're not a wizard either. If you pick more, your other half will suffer a bit. That's why more specialized version aren't so bad. I don't even get the point of this sentence. Like it feels you're being ecstatic about the sheer number of possibilities the subclass. Which is... legit, sure, but... seriously do you realize the subclass just fit your playstyle which is about adapting to the situation ?

Yep, it should work. No you don't have to manipulate the translation files. Without the main files, the game won't point to the new text. Modded text is harmless on its own. And a wrong manip within the modded text file can lead to : That. This a symptom of text file erroneous manip, not a symptom of main files manip. By the way the instructions are on the mod page.

Let's not forget OP and I are discussing about BPM Troub, whose Brisk recitation only has 4s chants (not 3s). And BPM Great Soul give +25% chanting speed (-20% phrase duration) which indeed benefit more other subclasses. So let's put number in comparison, for MC Troubadour / Chanter with 20 INT (reasonable value) each. For 3 Phrases chant : Troubadour without Brisk is pulling 33% less invocation and 14.3% more phrase duration. Troubadour with Brisk is pulling 12.5% more invocation and 42.9% less phrase duration. It becomes better with higher level invocations, of course. But that was my point, BPM Troub is quite lame with low level invocations. And there's a couple of chants that just benefits faster chanting.
