  1. Has this been fixed yet for anyone? I loaded up my game today and installed the 2 patches I missed but it seems to be the same not sure if it's just my game.
  2. Ciphers are still top tier with amplified wave given the few item changes and new abilities. Once you get the Durgan steel that just makes em faster and their time leech emphasizes this which you get enough to start battles with at level 14 which they will have around 50 focus by next expansion to start with. Forget about it if you find gauntlets of swift action. Set an arquebus on them and you get a ridiculous amount of focus to spam amplified wave with and keep enemies pinned especially if you choose good talents like both whips and baby sneak attacks. The ridiculous range and fast cast time on amplified wave is what makes them great everything falls to the ground and takes damage even off screen and you don't have to get close to cast just aim at a teammate. Given accuracy and high levels of perception, dex and int cipher is a wrecking ball. Start off every battle with that and after the next volley or so the enemies practically beg for mercy. My go to class given that arquebus is great against ancient death Knights.
  3. Since PoE 2 is their next main focus, white march part 2 is likely the last bit of support the game gets. We will NEVER EVER see tier 9 and 10 spells in the spellbook (those slots should be removed in the grimoires) and tier 6 + invocations/phrases from chanters (you can see the placeholders go up to tier 8 in the level up screen for phrases/invocations) What do you think led to this decision? Do you think you will be satisfied with everything once the PoE 1 ride ends? Will PoE 2 still use that unity engine and have long load times?
  4. My guess is they are like soulbound weapons where they count as all weapon types when comes to talents like those that give +6 accuracy to certain weapons. So if you have say a weapon focus on soldier, you would still get +6 accuracy with any universal weapon type that aren't in that category which I think now includes all summoned weapons.
  5. Well one guy made a thread about this a while ago on 2.01 so I tested it on 2.01 myself with the arbalest, war bow, and scepter that had speed mods all of which were working faster compared to companions with normal variants with the same dex. Then again for every patch I make a new game so perhaps it broke on older save games.
  6. Just tested this after a reload and can confirm as well. Only adds a base +3 at any level once you reload.
  7. I notice that labels like apprentice's sneak attack shows up in the log as well as merciless companion when they activate but predator's sense has no label. Also does it stack with merciless companion as it would have to show 2 labels if both activate?
  8. Oh I thought you said ambushing replaced draining. My tank/support pally depends on that for health since no shield means I get mopped quickly and I like using two handers.
  9. Ha ha no. But don't shields slow down recovery time on spells? Or is it only on a melee attack? Either way I use a wand, bow or scepter depending on which I have is better. Rods are garbage due to being slower than the other three in my opinion.
  10. Was this announced somewhere? Not seeing any info
  11. How interesting I will need to look at perception again next time I go through this scenario since like you said you need to be high enough to see. Having high perception didn't notify me of anything like the other checks did.
  12. Usually you can hire companions 1 level below yours but I can't seem to hire say a level 13 when I turned level 14. Only up to level 12. Is this working as intended?
  13. The chanter's timed summons are not affected/increased by int. Is this a bug or working as intended?
  14. It isn't I tested it with the wryms and they lasted 25 seconds. Considering I timed it on a chanter with stacked int at around 25, it should have lasted well into 40 seconds. Not sure if if it's working as intended so I asked in the tech support forums.
  15. Seems you only get one shot at the death ray spell being in the book. In 2.01, as soon as you go to durgan's battery for the first time, you should retrieve the black pages ASAP and copy the spells right there. Even if you take the book with death ray in it, as soon as you reload, it will be gone. Basically once you enter durgan's battery, don't reload/leave without taking the pages and copying the spell in another grimoire or you will lose it. I think you can take the pages and move to other areas while still having death ray but as soon as you reload it's gone so better to do it right then. From the start of the area, you just keep going straight up the path and at the second fork it's in a hidden stash behind the rock and before the cluster of trees. Not sure how much mechanics you need to see the stash of if you need to get the map/see the little side event in russetwood of the guy who hid it there to access the stash. At least that's as far as my tests went.
  16. Hm I don't like the idea of removing per encounter mostly because ancient death knights are wrecking me even after exhausting my per encounter spells. In fact clearing the mercs would have been a pita without per encounter to fall back on and even then I had to keep resting as they sapped my hp. If it's gone all that means is more loading screens to rest. Plus load times drive me insane and put me off from playing. Also you only reach per encounter when you trudged through a good portion of the game without. Tier 3 per encounter comes at level 13 meaning you won't be wrecking a lot of the game with it and cragholdt seems to step it up. Basically future expansions should all be like cragholdt where I had to drop high level spells to avoid getting run over and cleaned up with per encounter still needing to rest for health and higher tier spells.
  17. Non generic companions don't seem to be able to have the option to take the ring on the woman even if they have the required stats to save both. I tested kana and hiravias. I run a full generic party so that's how I saw the option. Ring is frigid claim with +5 dr to fire and +10 defense vs spells. As far as I know, that scenario is the only option to take the ring and she doesn't give you it after you save her. Well aside from killing her after you save her and taking it which might set everyone on you.
  18. The time limited summons was uncalled for considering the time it takes to build up phrases. It's not even fun to play as one anymore.
  19. Is that a party without Druid or wizard? I always thought the interdictions cost 3 talent points to strengthen but the effect is what 7 seconds base of weakened and dazed? I mean with extremely high int it can go 12-13 seconds but that's 3 talents for a debuff that other classes can easily cast for no talent spending and for far longer. The accuracy buff and per encounter is neat but you only get 1 roll at it. I just wish it was longer. I really only use weakened on tough fights with certain enemies that I need to targe with fort or will and 7-12 secs isn't worth it for me.
  20. Yea that's what I love about this game. I tend to try to get the scenario I want no matter what it takes if it's possible. Like if someone has something I want but getting it through dialogue means I get a disposition I don’t like, I just kill them. The best part is when the gibs go all over the place after popping them since npcs have almost no defense. Though I generally try to keep people alive. It's fun since like you said most games you have to be a good boy to get everything. Heck some quests are far better when you stop doing jobs as charity and demand more rewards or poke for more pay. Though it depends on the quest as sometimes getting coin means you miss a decent or good item. My only complaint is when you kill certain npcs outside from the shadows, the entire area turns hostile. I mean what the heck.
  21. Doesn't seem to work. I can save them both but having 3 CON doesn't allow me to jack the ring and carry her out without dying after I save the other guy and I tested it by boosting athletics to 6. Oh well at least you can easily boost CON from 3 to 12 with food/watcher ability that boosts stats temporarily, stronghold bonus, brothel bonuses, CON from equipment, and +1 CON from that pike weapon bought from guilded vale. I also wish the boots of speed counted for something in this scenario. In my game, named companions seem to not be able to steal the ring off her.
  22. So I see I can save the woman and guard or take the (Frigid claim) ring and save the guard. Well I saved her but didn't get jack squat as a reward. Is there any point in not taking her ring and bolting other than having her around at the inn telling you how the ring is the only thing of value she has? My chars don't have enough constitution to save them both really.
