Movies You've Seen (or would like to see) Recently
Worried about the dog in 'The Mountain Between Us'? We've got good news That's totally me, if I know the dog dies then I don't watch It took me a few sittings to get through the first John Wick but my wife completely checked out after the dog was attacked but I was able to power through that when he starts getting revenge

I think trigger warning just has a negative connotation to some at this point so they may reflexively rail against it I think you may give people too much credit Call it something else and I'd wager you'd get a better reaction

Marijuana [Hallucinogens] Agenda Deception
I voted for both recreational legalization and for public use spaces, which aren't in effect yet. It's helping our budget. I think we hit a billion dollars of sales in like 8 months or something crazy this year. The only real change I've seen is that people are now more open about it and while I'm sure they exist, I don't personally know anyone who never used before and is now a regular consumer.

I dunno, I'm kinda glad that judges can step in even if I don't always agree with them. I think for me it's because we don't directly vote on anything at the federal level except our representatives who can then do whatever they want once elected. I know we can choose not to reelect them but that's after 2/4/6 years as I don't think we have a federal recall. I guess I just view it as an extra check.

According to this site California seems to have the worst property damage but Texas gets more fires and Oklahoma had the most land burned- Political Ocean's 11

This is true freedom- NFL 2017-2018 Season
Another week, another loss for my fantasy team. Even with Rodgers going out I thought I would win because my opponent is playing 2 people who have a bye week. I'm losing against a guy who doesn't even log in to change his lineup. Worst of all he's winning the whole league.- What's on the idiot box?
I've never seen any of those shows (Breaking Bad, Rick and Morty, The Wire) and don't plan to. They just don't appeal to me. I might check out the Vampire one for an episode or two.- The Weird, Random and Interesting Things That Fit Nowhere Else Thread

I don't know if this is the right place for this, maybe the random news thread would be better but I like to live dangerously Family held hostage by Taliban freed after 5 years I guess my biggest question is who goes backpacking in Afghanistan while there's a (never ending) war there? I don't mean to imply they got what they deserved but I have questions about their motivations and judgment.- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - DA REAL DEAL
Any of the old guard still there? Dunno, I think Hudson came back Is alanschu still there? I know he doesn't come around here anymore- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - DA REAL DEAL

We're magnanimous like that Slightly more on topic Donald Trump doesn't seem to understand the stock market. Or the national debt. Is it sad how entertained I am by this presidency? 4 more years!- DLC survey

ShadySands replied to PangaeaACDC's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Again, if that's your assumption of what small DLC from Obsidian is going to be like then so be it. I prefaced my entire argument on mixed DLC being comprised of all "good" DLC, dunno why he's changing the argument to make it a small = bad issue. I took issue with his assumptions because they all ran counter to my initial argument not that there is no historical precedent of DLC of any size that is bad. Again, let's just agree to disagree. *edited slightly now that I'm sober.- DLC survey
ShadySands replied to PangaeaACDC's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Your first paragraph you set up an analogy that assumes DLC or rocking chairs will be cranked out at lower quality. Not sure where your basis for this is and I reject this assumption. To steal a line from the promancers, just because some other companies have done a poor job doesn't mean that Obs will. Second paragraph, you lead with there not being a time to quality but then follow with the quick and small stuff being not very well thought out. Again, I've already stated assuming it's good stuff, because who likes crap, and you've started from a default of assuming it's bad. Third paragraph, more of the same, assuming big DLC will be of better quality than smaller and assuming the smaller stuff will be arbitrary weapons packs or whatever else. Why? Is this something Obsidian is known for that I don't recall? Off the top of my head I can think of several different types of smaller DLC that Obsidian could do that aren't horse armor or weapon packs/reskins. I don't think we will see eye to eye on this so shall we just agree to disagree.- The Great Game Giveaway: Tuesday Edition
I remember, I think it was the Gault part of the Bounty Hunter story that was the final nail in the SWTOR coffin for you. I don't blame you, I didn't like the BH story very much either. But yeah, MMOs are a different beast and even though SWTOR was trying to be KOTOR 3-whatever the MMOness of it was hard to overcome.- DLC survey
ShadySands replied to PangaeaACDC's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)You're relying on some of assumptions that I don't necessarily agree with Which is why I have "(who likes bad DLC)" there because I feel it's a little silly to argue on that level. So how about this, everything else being equal do I want (mmm) beefy DLC, small DLC, or a mix.... I'd still say a mix- What are you playing right now?
