  1. Hard is not for veterans but rather for players who touched any tactical game at all and liked it. Even PoTD is too weak for BG veterans. You might restart your character if you are a perfectionist and want to restart PoTD all of a sudden. (Like I did, lol)
  2. 1. Use War Bow. Since you are not soloing damage type matters less and war bow damage is nice. Don't take any bonus level spells, rather grab offensive talents like focus, penetrating shot and marksman.
  3. Yep that too. I didn't take Hold the Line this time like I did last time. People were saying its a waste of a talent. But I know I was not having this issue on my last run. Granted it was on Hard not PoTD so less enemies. Hold the line doesn't work if you don't attack. If you're prone, heal or similar it doesn't work. It truly is a waste of talent because you will always engage more enemies than you can. Enemies are mostly stupid and will engage your tanks if you place yourself well. With the bad pathing as it is right now you will find a safe spot for your squishies in almost any fight, you don't need doors.
  4. What other perspective do you feel that they use? If nobody complains we don't need to fix. I feel like high DT enemies are especially vulnerable to it, since the echo relentlessly rolls every second and sometimes with 50+ damage, nobody has that high DT.Ofc there are other too strong abilities, but can you spam them the same way? Most certainly not. DT clearly hurts beams more than any other types of attack, since it fully applies to each tick (unlike DoTs where each tick is only reduced by 25% of DT or single hit abilities where it only applies once). 50+ damage is a bit of an exaggeration, maybe on a lucky crit. Overall it doesn't do that much damage to enemies with 20-30 DT, Granted there are not that many of these. As for spammability - well, chanter's Dragon Trashed does like 160 aoe damage over time passively with good stats and some abilities like rogue's deathblows add a ton of damage passively as well. As I said, yes, it's one of the OP abilities, but there are tons of these in the game. So Mad, I just did the Cail fight with my 3 chicks group and again massively used echo. Killed all drakes with it including Cail Against Cailk who has a whopping 24 DT I regularly did over 20 dmg all hits no crits. One graze even did 16, the highest hit did 29. Crazy about it is the number of hits grazes I land on that mofo without any debuffs or accuracy selfbuffs I destroy him in the duration of 2 beams. The damage done by my bow and my pally + fighter is not even nearly on the same level. (cipher level 9)
  5. Or you just cast echo right at the start of every fight and recast only if either there are many enemies in line of it or if your squishies get attacked. You can build focus while Echo is active so it isn't really a waste.
  6. Cail the silent: https://youtu.be/zdLA6Pibl5w?list=PLzscMCQ3321tXXG7MbJa_j40-puzt3BAk
  7. I honestly never had that problem. Lol even if I get proned it happened like once to me. Probably depends on your attack formation. How close are your squishies to the front?
  8. The only "difficult" thing about ciphers is picking good powers which you actually use. Other than that they are straightforward and even dependent on being played like a mix of fighter and mage, since attacking builds focus.
  9. It's even worse than having to wait longer, you might get an opposite disposition point than you have to waste a talent to get rid of the negative effects on your F + C.
  10. How are you even sure, there is a diplomatic choice available talking to the animancer? I have no party right now, that could check for you, but if you have the option turned off, there is no way of knowing you actually can respond diplomatic, is there? For the paladins I played, there was always one disposition, that maxed way later than the other. Btw "I see" is definitely stoic, another choice you don't always have in dialogues and which maxes out way later than for example rational on a Goldpact.
  11. If you have a chanter then it's definitely worth using with summons, since they are unlimited. I sometimes even use it with figurines, summoning those nly to have a beam target. And as Mad said you don't need to run around too much.
  12. I know man I know. And you are right. I just cant bring myself to make a super dumb character. I know hes not actually DUMB in the game..lol. I am a frustrated RPG gamer as I want great results (Min/Maxer) but like SOME RP. These don't mix usually. Just split your points between dex and IN then, so none of them are dumped, like 8 each or something.
  13. Wizard is arguably the strongest class in this game. Since the difficulty is low, you don't need the strongest class and he is very rest heavy. Aloth's stats are not optimal, thats why he is slightly less useful, especially if you have autolevel on. You can grab more companions, so not sure which mercenary would be good for you, there is no thief or monk companion in this game for example.
  14. Yeah psychic backlash is ass. :D I used to use heavy weapons but since 1.06 hit I am officially a warbow fanboy. Borresaine is fun, though I hate, that the superb unique warbow has no unique enchant, not sure whether I want to waste two eyes on Borresaine.
  15. Lighthouse 1st floor, 2nd and 3rd will be up shortly, all done in one go, no resting. Dat Echo spam, tho. https://youtu.be/RycsR52J9DU?list=PLzscMCQ3321tXXG7MbJa_j40-puzt3BAk 2nd floor: https://youtu.be/NqKxevJRfGs?list=PLzscMCQ3321tXXG7MbJa_j40-puzt3BAk 3rd floor: https://youtu.be/c-0ULmw8-nY?list=PLzscMCQ3321tXXG7MbJa_j40-puzt3BAk
  16. The hammer is a lot of fun on hogh dex pally. I even go for 14 dex. You lose 1 point in per and res each and two points in ST, but I wekt with goldpact and got Gift + sacrificed Eder. *evil grin*
  17. The weapon does the most advantageous damage type according to the targets DR. Yes, a graze does 50% damage.
