I just do it for roleplay reasons, so I'm not completely evil and also get the Goldpact dialogues, one specifically makes a hard fight way easier because half the opponents leave before the fight. As for talent ability points those are quite rare as you already guessed, but at least now with white march you have 2 more to spend.

I went with 15 (Living Lands) 15 6 20 3 20 For the race I selected Wild Orlan, my first solo pala was Moonlike but he lacked saves for the adra dragon. I always go for Goldpact because he can get +2 ST by being cruel. Will could definitely be higher, but you can't have everything. The starting armour and weapon is really nice for Living lands, in Gilded Vale you might wanna grab the plate on the backer npc quite soon. I'd rather have multiclasses than classless. Reminds me too much of Skyrim, even tho it was fun there was no tactical depth. Also in PoE it doesn'tr make any sense, since you have a party with up to 6 chars and can put together so many classes. Tbh. multiclassing would probably **** up the fun fo many people since a lot complained about MC in Baldur's Gate.

Good to know, since that wasn't clear. My point was a different one though, when I was talking about how hard/easy it is to get attributes I was referring to the fighter itself, not any other class who might help him. Especially the priest buffs are not per encounter from the start and if you don't want to rest all the time you might not want to rely on spells for auto attack accuracy. Since you the op don't seem to play on PotD I guess this discussion is moot, since it doesn't always matter that much on lower difficulties with a full party. Glad your question got answered earlier, have a nice time with the game.

I haven't tried out all the talents so I can only comment on the two I used. Veterans recovery is REALLY good on a pally, even on a solo, where fights are longer than it's duration and more so with a group behind you to make fights shorter. Yes, longer duration would be nice, but I can live without it. As to the fighters durastion getting nerfed, it was not necessary but I don't mind at all, just another reason to make INT not a dump stat which I welcome highly. Gallant's focus is super awesome on a ranged fighter, even if you have a pally(not ranged) you cover more space with accuracy buff.

Even tho it get's really easy in Def Bay, these days I don't consider 3-4(5) really hard anymore. As soon as you know how to handle certain situations, the only restrictions are those you lay on yourslf.: Do I really want to be level 5 before Caed Nua? (4 works fine), do I really want to kill Raedric as soon as possible or leave him for later and so forth...

Intellect affects the duration of your regen. A 3 intellect lasts something like 58 seconds and a 10 gets something like 90 seconds. In my opinion the effect is pretty lackluster to start with so a reduced duration of a weak ability is not much of a penalty. For a good ability like Vigorous defense a dumped 3 intellect still gets like 12 seconds I think. It is less than the standard 20 seconds but if you place the 7 dumped stat points in resolve to balance out the Will defense you'd be ahead by 7 deflection all the time and behind by 13 for the eight seconds difference in the buff duration. A fair trade off in my eyes. You're joking, right, RIGHT?
