It was one of the first things I tried, since as I said above I didn't expect Instinct to raise defenses, so I cast Shield first and then Instinct. Just retried it, this time I cast Instinct first, then shield, still no difference, the deflection part of Instinct gets suppressed by Shield. It's no biggie, tho I find the other defenses much more interesting than deflection and + 20/25 deflection is still huge compared to paladins deflection bonus.

So I just reloaded my pre Thaos save, since 3.04. hit GoG Galaxy right after I finished the game. Instead of doing 33 max damage my dual bittercut now do 31, 2 damage less. The corrosive lash amplified by me having the corrosive talent is not even shown in this damage, yet it is only 4 damage less than Tidefall, with which I have attack recovery, while with dual bittercuts I have none if I use either Time Parasite or Alacrity. If I'm not missing anything the nerf was on one hand much needed on the other sabres are still the best weapon ingame for pure damage. If you use a barbarian even before the sabre nerf you were probably better off with spreading afflictions via AoE, so I guess barbarians got an indirect buff.

Having just played through with a three char party consisting of Chanter, Paladin and Cipher I would either go with chanter + cipher or paladin + cipher. Every other combo already mentioned here works perfectly well, too. But having two classes who support each other is always awesome. Many of the ciphers abilities are based on allies and both paladin and chanter are support classes. At the end of the day everything is valid since even solo play has become rather easy once you know all tricks. But I would definitely pick something with synergy and not two classes based off how good they are seperately.

So after a week of illness and not being able to record I finally ended my Trio run. It was a lot of fun to see how powerful mindweb is, but also how universally useably it is My personal favourite thing was to not do any kiting, pulling or usage of figurines vs Thaos, just stood right where the encounter starts, stopped one judge with my paladin, the other with Kana, so GM can build her 80 focus safely., once mindweb was cast, this was just another random encounter as I did many before. The same was true btw for the bog dragons. Can't imagine how powerful mindweb is in a full party.

So I just had a random 188 accuracy in the bog dragon fights and wondered what is the highest you can get? I didn't have warpaint or Eldritch Aim, also it was GM who doesn't have max perception. What was the highest accuracy roll you ever had? Over 200 should be easy but I'm interested how far it can go.

As to Kana I would sing in the following order: Wengridh first, then Comrades, then come sweet winds. That way you get + 10 to all defenses but deflection, and the movement speed bonus. Your winds will then do the raw damage. You can also go melee with Kana but I would recommend to keep him in range at low level, especially when you use a chokepoint soft winds is an awesome damage source and you don't need to be close for it to hit. As to your cipher: Focus your ranged attacks on the softer targets for easier focus gain and then charm the plate armor enemies.

Yeah, if you use the door even a 3 char party can do this fight on level 4. You could also use wizards double on Eder, once the enemy wizards are out of spells, which happens pretty quickly in this fight. If you're still having trouble after following Boroers very detailed post, if you wish I could dl your savegame and make a video for you on a possible way to do the fight.

Well you can easily build a chanter that survives most encounters without withdraw, solo chanters defenses are not that much worse than paladins if you use Wengridh and Comrades and for an endbuild you would also have little saviour. If you don't go for any challenges without consumables topping that off with Llengrath's and Moonwell makes you pretty much invulnerable. As far as I understand the challenge should not be about the most difficult bounty so you're strill fine without consumables.
