  1. That spell is so weird anyway as it definetly increases durations by more than 10 secs as stated in the description If anyone knows what it is affected by let me know :D
  2. yea the gear isnt up to date there are other weapons that are really good aswell such as magrans favor, chromoprismatic and sungrazer if ure still playing 1.1 cons ground is terrible though but u can switch entonias for the 5% spell dmg ring if u want to go shield vaporous grim + helm combo i dont like it at all @knownastherat i will reply when im home to ur post as i am on phone right now
  3. Wizard doesn't give a **** about PEN-AR unless he's just spamming missiles. A single-class Wizard has a rough early game, but the moment you get Noxious Burst you can clear waves of enemies in two casts at most. I don't know what you consider "strong", but in my POTD playthrough the only weakness of my Wizard was that I had to be careful about not destroying my own team members by accident. On casual lol The level 11 Wizard in the vid I posted earlier has this stats for Noxious Burst: PEN 8.8, 55-74 damage ACC 58 vs Fortitude, ok applies Sickened for a better chance on the second cast. How come Wizard doesn't give stars about PEN-AR? Oh on casual, I see. Show me the vid where you are clearing waves of enemies on PotD* as soon as you get Noxious Burst, else I call it bull stars. --- edit: with Level Scaling on
  4. This fight would have looked very different if you still had an empower and some better gear (which is very easy to get) Ningauths alone would have given you 3 shadowflames with empower and another pillar which would have been more than enough to win that fight Wizard is very strong throughout and becomes a powerhouse in the lategame
  5. All consumables are not scaled with charater levels, that's a big nerf imo. Ah alright must have missed that
  6. No nerf to Greater Maelstrom scroll? Aight :D
  7. Just no Console = cheating This guide has nothing like literally nothing to do with cheating lol what has this guide to do with testing builds anyway? Great guide btw thanks for putting it together
  8. Updated OT I will try this build on TSC, but only after patch :D I asked you because maybe you know something that I don't know, and may be you already try to go in melee. My assumption based only on your stats and buffs duration from video Well you probably want to drop priest as neither wizard nor priest offer any decent passives for melee combat.
  9. You can sneak past them Its possible without the leap boots although they make it a lot easier I might record a video for you when i get the chance but you can try yourself its not that difficult
  10. Hey man can you add my build please? Caster that combines both divine and arcane magic Subclass: Priest (Skaen) / Wizard (No Subclass) Author: araj123 Game Version: 1.1 Difficulty: PotD Solo: Yes (Deadly Deadfire) Companion: - Link: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/102648-class-build-solo-11-potd-thaumaturge-priestwizard/
  11. Hey man ive been rerunning this build since ive lost my original save once ive cleared the game with it ill be trying some other classes until the DLC comes out since ive been playing way too much wizard haha Why dont you try it and tell me how it is? PS Good job on that Queen fight ! Looked intense !
  12. You can also give everyone Captain Banquet food which makes them immune to the gaze. All the ingredients can be bought at the inn in dunnage (keep resting he will restock)
  13. You can get this bow right after you leave starting island if you have a rogue in your party with smoke veil
  14. Heres the fight against her with the Deadly Deadfire Mod Not a very hard fight tbh. If i would abuse LoS and stuff this would be a lot easier didn't really bother here though. Wasnt needed anyway. Shark Soup doesnt make you immune to the knockdown which is a pity but whatever. I am gonna try some others with this mod installed to see how difficult they've become. Lucia Rivan should be interesting as that is imo the hardest fight in the game by far.
  15. Gregorovitch, when he said: But there's also a broader point to be made about who the game is designed for, and how important high-level difficulty balancing is. It's more important for a traditional CRPG with a niche but fervent fanbase, but if Obsidian want to make ends meet, the bulk of their time is not going to be spent, at least pre-release, on tweaking numbers for optional side content on a difficulty setting that a tiny proportion of users ever try. I made this point earlier, and I'm going to make it again, because it's an absolutely critical question: what do people mean by "hard"? I think people are just saying "hard enough for me" which is not a good enough definition. What if only 1% of players could beat the game on PotD? .1%? .01%? My point about encounters just not being designed for level 14-20 isn't just my opinion, if you go look at the native levels for the quests, they are significantly front-loaded to mid-low levels. Obsidian went through the game with a power gamer on their staff and retuned accordingly, and barring an objective metric, I think this is "good enough" (and i await magran's challenges for further difficulty tweaking). The problem, again, is that they retuned all the quests/encounters that they currently have, which is heavily weighted to lower/mid levels, and there's hardly anything for higher levels. Scanning through this list, there are only two level 18 quests: Nemnok and Lost Grimoires, and those run concurrently (so you can't really count them separately). There's nothing higher. Paradise of the Mind isn't on this list, but I suspect it's level 17, 18 at the most. Considering that being at party level (quest_level - 1) is probably the right spot for a challenge at higher levels (due to super linear power creep thanks to getting more unique gear and better abilities), that means for levels 18, 19, and 20 there's literally nothing in the game that you can use your sweet high-level gear/abilities on in a worthy fashion. So basically, give me some DLC with a lot more high-level encounters, tuned in the same way that they tuned 1.1 PotD. I think that would suffice. People still complaining at that point will probably never be happy unless they're playing an original rogue-like. There is an interview with adam? that happened just last week or smth where he says that the first dlc will offer more high level content so theres some hope there. I find it crazy that the highest quest in the game is level 18 though haha
  16. Unfortunately once you've gained a certain amount of positive reputation with the principi there is no way to get it into the negative. No matter how many of them you kill. Basically only do furrante quests until you get the belt from him and stay away from anything else that gives you principi reputation so you can still get the armor. Or just screw their quests altogether and kill them right away but you will miss the belt. You don't need it later on anymore when you have high enough defenses however it does help early. Running this from 4-20 i can count the numbers ive been hit with dampener on one hand. When you're level 20 it wont hit you anymore because you simply have too high defenses. Im not sure what you mean with leveling scaling mod? Like mods that increase the difficulty? I am not sure as i havent tried any yet. Vanilla 1.1 there arent a lot of fights this build has issues with and that is without using potions and stuff so you can probably play it with a difficulty mod. Not sure how this would affect early game though. Thanks for explanation :D Such amazing reputation system How do you fight Akemyr ? In Vanilla he dispel all your buffs and has something like +130 Accuracy and +130 to all defenses without buffs Arcane Dampener goes against Will. This build has 172 will defense (167 with circle of protection) so even with 130 accuracy he has an hard time hitting. I dont remember it being an issue when i fought him. The biggest weakness of this build are HP sponges like Kraken and stuff because once you've used all your spells and it isnt dead you hit like a wet noodle. This is a pure caster after all. There are ways around that like actually picking a sword with the 7th power lvl spell (i forgot the name, the tensers like one) but it really isnt optimal. Thanks again for explanation :D I think with this build you can beat most of the fights from difficulty mod. You know it remember me about Priest's from POE 1, AOE spell, Stunlock, Such amount of buffs If you had a time could you record Queen fight with Difficulty mod (without Arcana/Alchemy) Just because i hate her so much Fck that character. Without mods though. Would have been a lot easier with Shark Soup food (immune to the knockdown if i am not mistaken).
