Let those with the most social, political and economic power freely dominate the globe without restriction. When they form an organized structure to protect their privileges and combat the inevitable dissent we’ll simply not call it “the state.” Orwell, here I come !

That's irrelevant. What they did with 4 people and 50k is far more impressive than what Obsidian did with 80X that amount. Of other people's money. Raised up front.

No clue whatsoever. Yeah you really enjoyed it. lol. Anyway you're alone in that. Or youre simply not a fan of crawlers. Either way you're really challenged when it comes to separating the objective from subjective. Just lol Heh. MMX had a very well done combat system. But not much else. Actually it was a disaster overall. It's only worth playing for its turn based combat.

Of course, they *can* do it today as well. I have four words for you Obsidrones. Legend. of. Grimrock. 1. 4 man team. In a basement. Killer content. Killer graphics.

There are video game budgets as high as 300$ million, so what. Most of the time those are trash. Far better games have been made 15 or 20 years ago, with low funds, laughable staff count, and faulty game engines. Anyone with half a brain would know that. If you're guided by passion four million is a lot. Otherwise even 500$ million won't do you any good. Considering its budget PoE feels sub-par. I must have missed the class that teaches how enough passion will pay the bills. Damn you Finnish school system, you have failed me yet again. Sorry for being blunt but that's BS. I'll just say it again. Far better games have been made 15 or 20 years ago, with low funds, laughable staff count, and faulty game engines. So why cant they do it now? Because they're not guided by passion as much as before. People get older. Most of the high budget games are trash. (also has to do with focusing resources on graphics)

Not really. Rather it has to do with their approach to game development i.e. when it's done it's done.

Possible Bug in Sanitarium
Luj1 replied to teh_elgee's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Thanks for posting a possible solution! We're all trying hard to find a work-around to this game-breaking issue. It seems this problem runs deeper than Raedric's Hold crash does. -
True story. I feel that old Bioware and the new one are light years apart. Oh well.

That's too bad. -
Giving up on the harder of the two speaks about yourself. In either case bad analogy is bad.

Aka Obsidrones :D Heh, we usually go by Obsidianites. But yeah, why else would we hang out on the forum if we weren't big fans of Obsidian? Some of us have been here for over a decade. There's a difference between a fan and a fanboy (drone). The latter destroys the audience criteria even though both equally love their games. But which one gets the shinier badge? Doesn't matter. The real fan is that who'll always find something to complain. That keeps the developers going forward.

Possible Bug in Sanitarium
Luj1 replied to teh_elgee's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
You can try avoiding the flesh golems. There's a workaround I used for Raedric's Hold , maybe it'll work here as well Make a save at the staircase. If they are hostile upstairs, reload and delete the .fog and .lvl files of the Sanitarium main floor. Those is compressed inside your savegame. Use WinRAR or 7zip to open. This will reset the upper floor which includes any loot, NPCs and the fog of war. But it shouldn't mess up any quest triggers. Its how I bypassed the Raedric's Hold issue (i.e. kitchen crash). Haven't tried it myself but its worth a shot. Cheers. -
It's beyond me how you don't understand Hurl.. The US doesn't have to win wars, it's enough that it starts them and the natives will have misery and suffering. Look at Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya etc. Life will never get back to normal in those places. US and NATO are the main global instigators. Edited post a bit

So your ultimate nightmare would be Ronald McDonald with nukes and a fervent following? I must admit. That scenario has never crossed my mind until now, and it is quite troubling. Haha agreed :D :DDDDD
-
Don't be. Such countries are not exactly a global problem.
-
Hello The game is pretty cool. Not as good as BG2 and PST, but better than BG1 and IWD. It's a good spiritual successor. Thanks!
-
Sorry to break it to ya Bruce but currently the biggest global threats are US, NATO and Saudi-backed ISIS. Not Iran. Not Assad. Not North Korea. Not even Russia or China who tend to mind their own business.

Cant set more than 1 trap (fix plz)
Luj1 replied to Luj1's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'll just say this again. Despite everything these are clearly not the same traps. The ones triggering on the player are devastating. Our own traps don't have nearly such an impact. These are clearly not the same traps. And if you think setting an outrageous number of traps before a hard encounter is imbalanced, you can already do that with all the summoning items in the game. And seals aren't limited to one either, and these are spells not items. -
The main problem with DA3 combat is that is just a console version of an RPG, which translate into butto smashing as soon as you found the most powerfull attack. Yeah. It's obviously a console port, plays like a console aRPG and has a consolish UI.
