  1. Watched the new Terminator and well, i did kinda enjoy it for the dumb action and the nostalgia. The actors seem to get a lot of **** for their performance but i like them, and of course i like Arnold. But the writing is very mindless, convoluted and illogical with lot of plot holes. Still i enjoyed it for what it was, but i also didn´t expect anything from it. It would have certainly been a better movie with a more simple story.
  2. It´s interesting isn´t it. Worth a study in human behaviour. As long as we don´t directly feel it and politicans tell us "we" are all doing good, people close their eyes. If something goes wrong -> blame someone else. It´s not Greece that is the problem, it´s the EU and it´s currency itself. And you are right, noone plays by the rules, but as long as Bruessel and the banks get their money it´s ok. I wonder what would happen when we default. Austria is dip**** in debt too and has broken EU debt law on a constant basis. But then..the EU also bails out "countries" which was against EU law from day one. Anyway well said^^
  3. I liked Sacred 2 and it´s on my list of games i want to replay in the near future. But i remember hating the controls and the game suffering from performance problems. :/ I wonder how the first Sacred aged, probably trying it out today.
  4. Are you seriously using Spain as an example of austerity working? There is over 20% unemployment and real wages have been declining since 2008. If that's austerity working then it doesn't seem to be able to help workers. Ireland has an unemployment rate of 9.7% and real wages have been declining since 2009. Not doing as badly as Italy or Spain is a rather weak achievement. http://stats.oecd.org/Index.aspx?DataSetCode=AV_AN_WAGE Not to mention the effects the cuts and regressive taxes had on people: http://www.irishexaminer.com/viewpoints/analysis/irelands-austerity-success-is-no-model-for-greece-340662.html Comparatively we have Iceland which did not pursue austerity and has an unemployment of 4.7%(less than half of Ireland) and has seen real wages increase since 2008. http://www.statice.is/?PageID=1251&src=https://rannsokn.hagstofa.is/pxen/Dialog/varval.asp?ma=VIS04004%26ti=Real+wages%2C+index+1989-2015+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++%26path=../Database/visitolur/launavisitala/%26lang=1%26units=Index/percent It's pretty clear that austerity measures don't help the economy. And that was after Germany attacked Greece and killed a lot of them. Thanks for pointing that out. Italy, Spain and Portugal are on very wobbly feet and would be in so much trouble if Greece defaults and they would pay for the debt. Irland is an interesting case, they refused and fought against any IMF/ECB help, but in the end they were pressured into it and accepting the money and austerity along with it. Which they clearly didn´t need as they paid most of the money back almost in an instant. Irland was and is not a problem. I love how Bruce keeps posting links that actually disprove the points he's making. He can't read, he's impervious to facts and logic, and yet, despite taking a sound beating in every topic in which he participates, he's never afraid to remind everyone of how ignorant he is. Trollish regeneration at work, I suppose. Why people keep engaging with him is beyond me... I do it because it´s funny sometimes, but also frustraiting, he reminds me off smart ass kid, that sounds clever only to himself in his mind, while everyone else is facepalming around him. But you said it also very well Not only early on, also during the bigger part of the war. They played him. But there is no chance in my opinion on a war scenario between european states today. Most even have nothing that should be considered an army and would lack any support from the people.
  5. Opening the intra-European borders (for both people and goods) was a great idea. But they could have done that using a straightforward multilateral treaties, without establishing the undemocratic and totally-out-of-control bureaucratic monster that is Brussels, and without establishing a common currency. No the borders were a horrible idea. It just opened the gates for smuggling and crime. We see this now in the current immigrant crisis on how easy it is to get into countries. Crime rates have been on a constant rise here since we opened the borders. The funny part ist that the G7 conference is a good example for this. In that insanely short time, they made controls as they did before. The result, they catched 135 with open arrest warrants and registered almost 11 thousand(!) violations of the residence act and other things. I would rather take the nuisance of controls on borders than just open them up like this. Thats the point a lot of people forget. We allready had treaties across europe, building upon them, in- and export could have been easier. But it also has a negative side, because of the easy import now we get a lot of cheap stuff, but that also has a backlash on the local small and middle economy. Unfortunally we can´t really do anything about it because the EU dictates these rules. Awesome. And the common currency...a country without it´s own currency has no saying on the market and has no direct control on it´s economy. A currency can be used as a tool to stimulate your economy directly. Elrond here should know that, Finnland has devaluated it´s currency in the past very often to help them out of hard times. Can´t do that anymore, just like Greece is stuck with a Euro that is way to strong and hurts them even more. A common currency for so many different countries, with as many different GDP´s, wealth, laws etc. was the dumbest thing ever. If i could go back in time i would strangle our politicans for tricking us into it.
  6. Yes because destroying the economy and causing citizens to suffer because you accepted terms to impose austerity on an already depressed economy so you can get a loan you couldn't pay back is a very responsible thing to do. The former finance minister spoke of three ways Greece could pay off its debt in a sustainable manner in the video Messhugger linked, if you don't think he's right feel free to argue why he's wrong. But it's good to know you think democracy is bad when people don't vote how you want them to. Yes, Germany has really been ****ing things up the last few years. Anyways the referendum has plenty to do with self-rule which is a key component of freedom. Which given the posts the last few pages is what people are talking about ITT. Ah yes the famous and fallacious " its Germany's fault and the Troika for insisting on terms and austerity " Yet as usual this argument overlooks the obvious, why did the the Greek government need the initial loans? Because the government was about to go bankrupt...so once you again you cannot avoid the whole mismanagement of state institutions and finances by the previous Greek government Nice perspective KP, lets attack the Germans for having a strong and growing economy and believing that for the EU to succeed its member states have to adhere to certain rules and regulations. And lets also blame them for supporting austerity when needed You are right that Greek was broke, but they were allready broke before and should have never been accepted into the EU by their standarts, didn´t bother germany much back then. I think you are right, that blaming germany is silly, there are way more factors, but germany is one of them. Besides that, your last words...austerity doesn´t work. That is not a new revelation, infact they knew this 2 years ago as IMF documents showed back then: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/01/03/1176099/-Austerity-doesn-t-work-New-IMF-report-details-the-damage You are not wrong, but their standart of living has allready been run into the ground thru years of austerity. How much can you cut until the majority of people are living in poverty? Where should the money come from? Looking at the planed payback and greece´s budget it is obvious they can´t pay. And if you lend someone money, who clearly can not pay it back, then you are as responsible for for the loss as the guy taking the money.
  7. Well that question is also kinda pointless, i mean Greece can´t pay it´s full debt. It´s not possible, especially with austerity that cripple them even further. But anyway, the debt is just to high. A debt cut is unavoidable one day. Even recent IMF documents show that they are aware of this. If it matters, well, Germany and the bigger banks can stomach a Greece default. The problem is that under the ECB "help program", the other countries also stand in for the debt and that includes Italy, Spain, Portugal...countries who are also in high debt and have serious problems. They fear a domino effect. Not to mention that when one country leaves the EU/EURO, others might follow. So called euro-sceptic parties are gaining favour on a constant level for years now and i don´t see that trend going away. (nor do i want to)
  8. I would be surprised if Tomb Raider doesn´t change the date, otherwise they will cry again how the game isn´t doing well. *rolleyes* Not that it effects me, i don´t buy games on day one
  9. This^^ Voted for the Witcher 3, it´s overall a better game in my opinion.
  10. it´s 16 in most states if that graphic is correct:
  11. That does sound kinda scary. But...they allready had EU friendly technocrats and that didn´t work out either, they just forced greece into even more debt. Personally i believe that greece should default and go back to their own currency. Thats the only way they can go back on their feet. In the long run of course, such things take time. But more and more debt doesn´t work out in the long run, it´s just draging out the unavoidable. But thats just my opinion *shrug* the people who vote yes deserve whats coming for them.
  12. To be honest, if that would have been my teacher and willing to do me, i would have zero regrets. Whats the problem really, it´s sex...most natural thing in everyones life. Sure, if it interfers with the profession it can be problematic, so... fire her. But 22 years in prison for sleeping with 17y olds? This is just retarted. I did worse things when i was that age.
  13. ...I always forget that I'm not supposed to talk in political topics so I don't make myself look like a bigot and make everyone hate me. Shoot. Oh well. The trick is to not give a **** what others say. Respecting an opinion goes both ways. You are not a bigot by sticking to your opinion, no matter if i, or anyone else disagree/agree´s with you. Your opinion is as worthy as anyone else.
  14. Aus dem tiefsten, dunkelsten Eck vom Mühlviertel. Du? Don´t feel sorry o.O He has a lot of health problems, and tries to just enjoy life..i can understand that Süd-Burgenland ...kleiner Ort,,,ehemals Steirer ^.^ aber im Burgenland ist es schön
  15. I hope you don't mind my asking, but whaaaa? Does he have a condition that impedes his ability to swallow? As i said, he suffers from COPD, which is nasty on it´s own. But he is also "that old guy" meaning he does what he wants..smoking like a volcano, and well coughing fits aside, stuffing himself full with ****y treats despite diabetes (which ironicaly is still fine). etc..well things get stuck. >.< It´s really like taking care of a child, a child that knows very well what it does I can´t blame him. Servus, wo kommst denn her?
  16. Maybe it's because of its age, or maybe it's because I had to play it on my crappy laptop as compared to playing TW2 and TW3 on my big screen TV, but I just didn't enjoy it nearly as much as the second two. I finished it once, but have no desire to go back to it. Meanwhile, I've played TW2 and TW3 more than once and will likely play them again in the future. It didn´t age well considering the engine/graphics. Also the combat system is so "alien" that it takes time to get into it. It´s very unique. It´s very much QTE in terms of "just hit the right button" but at the same you can do much more latter on in the game, depending on what traits you choose. However it doesn´t control well. But the story and world are just too good, especially how people react to you (or not depending on how you treat them). You may miss out a lot of quests just for sticking to your believes. (and in return get others) Thats RPG for me. I know decisions don´t really matter in the other games (sadly) but the story is good enough to play thru it and thats what i´m doing ^,^
  17. Because it is, this is no "socialism" law. This only works for in favour for the companies. Thats the real funny part. America will never have a decent health/education/Prison/Police>"insert what you want"<"system until they get rid of their 2 party oligarchy system. Thats a fact supported by the last 50 years at least.
  18. Good question. I wouldn't know, since i once thought that it meant something uh, else. +1 for Garbage
  19. The pain I can't stand at all is headache, it interferes with my sleep and makes me feel desperate - fortunately headache is an extremely rare occurrence for me. (Hats off to those who have to deal with migraine) Any other kind of pain is quite tolerable, and I've had my fair share of injuries. Interesting, headaches are no business for me, i can deal with them very well. Hard migrane attacks like i had in the past are difficult to handle...but the moment it goes into my mouth i´m a terrible "****" (no offense to pussies ) i can deal with all but my mouth is something other...but then i have a real phobia of dentists i guess....i have less fear from death than from a dentist lol. Anesthesia helps. He suffers from COPD. And a lot more things. Makes my day interesting.
  20. Hm. The Fallout series are not action games...sooo? Looking better is not difficult, but graphics don´´t make a good game experience. So we will have to see if that game is any good.
  21. This. If you are against this, you are an idiot. There is no other option or argument against this.
  22. Started Witcher 1 yesterday, and while i had a hard time getting into it again (just like the first time), i´m enjoying the hell out of it now...and it´s my first step on a complete playthrough of all three games. And if i´m not in the mood for it, it´s Cities Skylines..very relaxing.
  23. Thank you for that true statement. Obamacare, is a joke for every country with a decent healthcare system. Which means pretty much most of the "west" and "east". Kinda funny.
  24. Respect...the only pain i can not endure is in my mouth...well that has changed a bit. but still. But no painkillers? Ugh... What did i today, nothing, just preventing my dad from chokeing (again -.-) taking care of some stray cats..the usual..and now..drinking!
  25. Oh well, good i guess. Personally i don´t care who marries. It won´t affect your marriage or your rights, and as long as that is not the case you might as well marry a sheep as far as i care. (if you don´t abuse the poor thing ) Marriage these days is more of a state contract then a symbolic band between two people, sadly. I fail to see why anyone should be bothered by this, unless you are some religious nut.
