  1. Screaming Trees - Nearly Lost You just switched to Eels - Rotten World Blues
  2. Winamp for me.
  3. And vice versa. Get off my lawn you crazy kids!
  4. I'm never going to live that down, am I?
  5. Gonna go for 21-22. There are older people here, but the amount of angst makes me think they are completely outnumbered by depressed teenagers.
  6. Considering the actual amount of bassists that one actually notices, that's quite a lot. There's too many mediocre bassists celebrated these days, just because most people have never heard a really good one. Les Claypool for teh win. EElS - That's Not Really Funny
  7. Make You Feel Better is my favourite song off there. Flea needs to stop throwing in wah in the bass. EElS - Climbing To The Moon EDIT: Why do so many bassplayers call themselves by a nickname with an F? Flea, Fieldy, Fuzz, Frolt.
  8. As good a reason as any not to do drugs. I've always managed to use other excuses to convince other people to stop offering me pot (I live in Holland, the pot-capital of europe, my grandfather used to grow it in small amounts before he died) like asthma.
  9. Still 'low'-less here. I have an incredibly fast metabolism. I usually end up sobering up before I go to bed, and I've never had a hangover. Another fun fact - I have been drinking a kroatian liquor called 'Kruskowac' since I was seven. I swear, my family is insane.
  10. Strength? No. Bliss? Yes. It's not so much ignorance as being lazy. I know my problems, but I'm just not motivated to deal with them.
  11. So what? When I don't overthink stuff, I just go 'man, I shouldn't drink any more' and stop. I think 'no, drugs are lame' and don't do them. I think 'man, that sky/rock/tree/lake is awesome and beautiful and that's why the world rocks' instead of 'man, that rock is okay but everything around it sucks'. Playing dumb is the only thing that keeps me sane. Which is more than I can say about the rest of this forum. From what I can tell, sixty procent sounds like they're on anti-depressants. If everyone were like me, people would only be a dingo about being right.
  12. This is a stupid topic, because 'growing up' is a stupid concept. Just because you can deal with the world doesn't mean you're grown up. I'm eighteen and I'm immature as dingo, and so are most people I know. Heck, my dad is worse than I am.
  13. I must say I'm hypocritical about the same thing and quite happy with it. Drugs are stupid, booze is good. Deal with it. One of my personal mottos is 'don't overthink stuff'.
  14. The difference being that mine is still close enough to the original axiom that only nitpickers will give a dingo.
  15. No. I'm the guy who can't resist opening any door he sees, need to put any glass right in the middle of a coaster, and tries his hardest to make anything that is uneven into an even number with the exception of the numbers 1 and 3.
  16. No, you were just demonstrating the difference between what I said it was and what the axiom says it was. OCD makes me insane. Because it fits my definition of insane. I really couldn't care less what society says the word means.
  17. Bands like Sum 41 Blink 182 etc are pop punk, not emo. Pop punk and emo sound exactly the same to me. Mainstream emo, anyway. You know, crap like Taking Back Sunday. EElS - Restraining Order Blues
  18. The Radioheads? Don't you just mean Radiohead? Hate to be a bandwagoner, but OK Computer is one of my favourite albums ever. Modest Mouse - Trucker's Atlas
  19. I can't think of any actual speed metal bands, but I do know that speed metal is often used to describe trash metal. Also, The Clash and The Sex Pistols were punk. I don't see how Sum 41 fits in there. I'd lump them with bands like Blink 182, who are usually described as punk, but the subject matter often comes down to emo.
  20. Congratulations, astr0creep! Your day definately triumphs over the aforementioned ones. My best days are the days I can listen to loud music while lying in the sun. I'm fairly easily pleased (and exceptionally lazy). Naturally, I hate autumn and winter. Other days I love are days when me and my friends play crappy versions of other peoples rock songs and kick ass.
  21. Just because people weren't using the term at the time the band came up doesn't mean it doesn't retroactively apply to them. Metallica - Hero Of The Day OMG I SOLD OUT. POST BLACK ALBUM METALLICA.
  22. Modest Mouse - The Dark Center Of The Universe Another of my favourite bands that was recently accused of selling out. Bulldingo, really. Just because Float On became a minor hit doesn't mean they changed their music or style just to get more airplay. Float On is almost a typical Modest Mouse song, and the rest of the album is definately not geared to the mainstream. I have yet to meet a person that is not into indie that wasn't immediately turned away by This Devil's Work Day
  23. I think one can know if someone is insane depending on their own definition of insanity. If the axiom disagrees with me, well, then I guess I'm insane. If it doesn't, well, then I'm perfectly sane. I doubt I'm perfectly sane. I'm pretty sure my amount of obsessive compulsive disorders (which, thankfully, are harmless enough) automatically makes me insane.
  24. No. Reasons? First of all, it's their job. They get paid for it. Second, I'm staying as far away from service as I can as long as they keep fighting wars that don't make any dingoing sense. If they had an actual cause to fight for, sure, but now? They can take their war and shove it. It makes me sick to think that the dutch government can just pick a time and bring back drafting. There hasn't been a cause worth fighting for here in 61 years, yet they see fit to meddle in everyone elses business. America's lapdogs, the lot of 'em.
  25. I've played that game. It scared the dingo out of me.
