Why does this make you cry? It makes me cheer. I'm like "YEAH, ALRIIIIIGHT!" *pumps fist* ...yeah, I get into movies really badly.

Alice In Chains - We Die Young
-
It was a joke... since she's died and come back like 3 times revealing the one who died to be a clone. Yes, I know. I followed up on that. I guess I didn't do a very good job. So, guys, you guys seem to know about comics. I want to start a webcomic, but I want some advice/reading material on stuff like panel placement. Got any ideas on where to start? I hear Scott McLoud books are good for it.
-
About three years ago or something? As a kid I cried a lot. Something would happen, and it wouldn't even be bad, but I'd start crying just so people would leave me alone. It was basically a defense mechanism. I never really got rid of it until I just decided that enough was enough.
-
Well, they said Spider-man was a clone during the clone saga ("Ben Reilly's the real one! Peter Parker is just a clone!"...WTF?) too, so that might be the real Aunt May after all. Marvel comics continuity boggles the mind.

I'm pretty sure black people have been poorer than white people in America throughout history. I'm pretty sure that this is even still the case, though I haven't looked up any numbers. +Apologies for my rude behavior in my previous post.
-
That album had me in stitches throughout. If Anal **** is wrong, then I don't want to be right! Skyclad - Irrational Anthems
-
I still don't see how that makes me a racist. It was past tense. It implied that throughout American History black people were poor. BECAUSE of racism. You're just grasping now. What possible reason could I have to imply that black people are cheap? Heck, I'm dutch, I would never call anyone cheap because I know being called cheap sucks, I get it from everyone. Heck, splitting the bill is called "going dutch".
-
It did, but creative quoting is a good way to make me feel better about myself. If you listen to Modest Mouse, personally I suggest "The Lonesome Crowded West", which does not possess the obsession with death that the later albums do. I don't know why so many people call Modest Mouse an acquired taste. I was into them from the moment I first heard "Trailer Trash". Led Zeppelin - Over The Hills
-
Gnarls Barkley IS really good. It's really fun. And Dangerdoom, I like pretty much all of his new release except the one he released as the single. Finntroll - Slaget vid Blods
-
I said their SONGwriting was off-the-wall, not their lyricism (although it really is), everything sounds like Brock came up with it while heavily under the influence). Also, as for you being able to accept it, I offer: Because I love music. And I don't care about what you listen to in the privacy of your own sanity, I care about what you spam my cosy little thread with. The Flaming Lips - Mr. Ambulance Driver
-
You're forgiven on account of good taste. And really, isn't almost every social group a contrarian group in some ways? I bet you're contrarian about some things (who hasn't disliked something for 'being overrated'?). Although Dangerdoom is pretty much the 'big hot thing' in indie circles right now, isn't it? I can't turn my back without hearing about it. I liked it when Clap Your Hands Say Yeah was the big hot thing and inescapable, because I really like that band. They're so much fun to listen to. If that singer doesn't make you smile, you're too serious. Skyclad - No Deposit, No Return

I'm impressed by the tackles that cause people to spin around in the air. Not so much by the others (most of these are bull-charges, which they would never do if they weren't wearing helmets), but those are quite dangerous.
-
Bertrand Russel is terrible. You love music, but you can't seem to accept that other people can love music without loving the same things as you. I'm going to keep listening to Modest Mouse no matter what you say. I enjoy their off-the-wall songwriting. If that makes me an indie ****, so be it. It probably wouldn't even matter if I listen to things other than indie at all for you, does it? You can't seem to stop stereotyping people into social groups. Well, I've got one for you, hipster. Joseph LoDuca - The Deathcoaster (Army Of Darkness soundtrack).

I have not watched the 'older stuff'. Care to be more specific so I can check it out sometime? It sounds a lot like you're only making personal attacks instead of actually discussing. I'm not some troll, and I don't even know where you got a hint that I'm a racist. In fact, I used the racism as an example as to why American Football was lame.
-
Care to actually make a comment on the subject instead of just flaming? Or is that beneath you? Fine, I admit that I was wrong about it being a rich white kid's sport. That wasn't even a serious statement more than sarcasm about the state of affairs in America, but I guess people here can't take that.
-
Now, seriously, the only reason black people have been given the chance to play American Football is because it became a high school sport and didn't have to buy the equipment themselves. American Football is also a major reason to call America a bunch of hypocrites. They say videogames are bad because they promote violent behavior. Well, what about American Football? That promotes, trains people to use, and pretty much IS violent behavior. And not even fun at that. As for Rugby being less cerebral and less violent than American Football, I can't even begin to describe how wrong that is. The only reason American Football is so violent is BECAUSE they are wearing armor, not the other way around. It makes them feel safe enough to do crap like that. The cause for your effect is actually the effect. This is why Rugby looks less violent and dangerous. Taking into account that Rugby players don't wear armor, it's proportionally more dangerous. Don't even say Rugby isn't dangerous. I've seen at least two broken legs and four broken arms happen in person, and I've only watched five games in total. Also, more cerebral, the hell? Ten guys pussyfooting around for the ball for ten minutes is not my idea of strategy.
-
Haha, you people are so predictable and easy to rile up. Football is more dangerous than American Football because of how people react to it.
-
This can serve both. In America, Pro Football is their football, in Europe, Pro Football is our football. One you actually play with your feet, the other is a rich white kid's Rugby for people who are afraid of actually getting hurt so they have to wear full body armor. I don't really have a favourite team, not really into football, but all my friends support Ajax and I suppose that's as good a reason as any to support them as well.
-
Most indie people actually hate Bright Eyes. Conor Oberst is seen as an enormous whiner of emo proportions (and apparently there's some kind of hateful relationship between emo and indie or something, I dunno, I don't listen to enough emo to make an informed opinion, basically just a bit of Dashboard Confessional). Eels - Waltz Of The Naked Clowns (WTF?)
-
So, Spider-man is finally revealing his true identity to the whole world, going public. Does anybody else think they're gonna retcon this out of existence twenty issues from now?
-
You out-pretend me at every turn, so that's pretty much the pot calling the kettle black, isn't it? E - I've Been Kicked Around
-
As you grow up there is a strong possibilty your views on any issue will change, I think its unrealistic to say otherwise. The thing about college is that usually a freshman - through meeting loads of new people - will be exposed to many new ideas and experiences that will no doubt shape his/her world view. Then again there is always the possibility that your college experience will only serve to refine and harden your current view. I suppose this is because of a difference in our educational systems. I've already met loads of new people over my school career. I've been part of five different class groups. In fact, when I started my last year of high school, I knew nobody in my classes. I do really believe, though, that most of my shaping happened through the internet, specifically during my time working on the leftwing oriented news site The Noosepaper, which really put a lot of things into perspective for me.
-
Really? I'm going to go to college in a few months, but I feel that I've already had my shift. I used to be a crazy obsessive communist. Now I'm just a crazy obsessive humanitarian. I don't care about the economic side.

Modest Mouse - Gravity Rides Everything Isaac Brock is an interesting lyricist, and he's come a long way. After all "The universe is shaped exactly like the earth, if you go on straight long enough you end up where you were" is a far cry from the times he was singing about doing the cockroach. EDIT: (was that supposed to be censored or what? ****roach?)
