Indalecio replied to kitty518233's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
They're are very few games, books, movies I'll play, watch, read again and again. Afterall, once you've seen everything, there's nothing more to it. There are a few though, that are just great fun to go through again and again. This is my list. Novels: I, Jedi The Summer Tree Honorable Mention: The Dragonbone Chair Trilogy. I would, but its very, very long. Movies: Men In Black Empire Strikes Back Anime: Azumanga Daioh Haibane Renmei Serial Experiments Lain Games Romance Of The Three Kingdoms VIII Unlimited Saga Breath Of Fire: Dragon Quarter Dragon Warrior VII Skies Of Arcadia Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together -
Darth Sidious and Palpatine
Indalecio replied to Darth Sun_Tzu's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well what about Darth Vader then I think he is accepted by the public at large because he killed the Jedi, which will probably end up looking like the source of all the Republic's problems in Episode III. Just a guess, though. -
The thing here, nowhere in KOTOR does your success rest solely on one use of Affect Mind. You have plenty of ways of solving puzzles and overcoming obstacles. Qui-Gon had very little recourse. Watto's was the only shop that sold the hyperdrive he needed, and he wasn't taking Republic credits.

Should Jediism be banned?
Indalecio replied to OrganisedChaos's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Distracting the Emperor wasn't quite it. He got rid of two Sith Lords who could've potentially escaped the Death Star and threatened the Galaxy again. Except, it wasn't Malak who destroyed Taris, it was Saul(who wasn't Force-Sensitive in the least) who pulled the trigger. Seems like only a slight difference, right? Think about this. The people who joined Revan, as a Sith, many were just as evil as Malak, just lacking in Force-Sensitivity. One Sith Lord, by himself, couldn't have wrecked the havoc that Malak did. This reveals weakness in integrity among the those members of the Republic. They bear just as much guilt for that as Malak did, because he would not have been such a success without them. -
We're trying but it's eating up so much mem that I doubt it will make the final build Sorry... Strictly from a programming standpoint, but how about two robes that act as one? One for when the hood is up, another for when the hood is down. Is that feasible?

'The most sublime victory is one achieved without firing a shot.' - Loosely paraphrased from Sun Tzu. I usually do this myself when I can, but I guess we can only wait and see. -
Would you like to see a Gungan in Kotor 2?
Indalecio replied to Your Execution's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
For anyone familiar with the anime 'Gundam Wing', I present 'Gungan Wing'. I didn't write any of this, so I take no credit. -
The Jedi who completely masters himself is the most powerful. :nods sagely:

Not really. The lighting was a bit dimmer, but thats about it.

Who wants to see a Sith Yoda-creature?
Indalecio replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You have to know who master Vandar is from KOTOR, but this other one there talking about, I have no clue. Somebody said they were the protectors of the LS of the Force, even if they are they can still be turned. Look at the quel-droma family(or however the hell you spell it). It would be a nice twist to see a DS "Yoda thing". P.S. we need a species, calling the race "Yoads" isnt gonna cut it. Well we could call them Yoda-lings. Just an idea. They're Jawas, without the hoods or robes. Think about it. -
Well, these signals are encrypted, and I'd imagine that, prior to battle, they'd take inventory of what ships they had, tag them as friendlies on the command ship, and send that as message out to the rest of the fleet. If a vessel surrended during the middle of a battle, and powered down its engines and weapons, it'd probably marked as non-hostile on the command ship, and the update sent to all the other ships in the fleet. As for representing your people, the only thing that really told me the Leviathan was a Sith ship was that the lights were dim on the command bridge. Other than that, it could've belonged to either side, and it'd be believable. IMHO, that is.
-
Well, probably they have a few contractors. Maybe one for large capital ships, another for mid-size capital ships, and another for small support vessels, or any combination there of. Given that, it would not be surprising if there were differences in interior design. As for recognizing who's friend and who's foe, they have computers and electronic sensors to display the friendlies and foes.
-
No offense taken. None intended on my part either. I still say it doesn't matter. These differences are meaningless. If the Republic buys a few capital ships from a ship-builder, do you think they're going to waste time painting them so that they all have the same color scheme? What if they buy ships from different ship-building companies? Will they look the same either on the inside, or outside? I really don't think so.

Should Jediism be banned?
Indalecio replied to OrganisedChaos's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well, the thing is, there are probably trillions of people in the galaxy, and maybe a third of those are children. Maybe one in 100,000, or maybe 1,000,000(just throwing out random numbers here) are force sensitive. Of those Force Sensitive, the majority will probably become Jedi and establish justice and peace throughout the galaxy. A few will go bad, and of those, a maybe one or two will go spectacularly bad. Weighing that against putting children into camps, I think choice is kinda obvious. -

What if there skills dont manifest themselves until they are much older?? Anikin was about 9 or 10 when he was discovered and was not levitating objects via the force!! And what about way subtler manifestations of the Force? Mind or emotion reading. Seeing the future in dreams perhaps? Quick healing? -
That means nothing. Remember the Empire? Imperial, Victory and Super Star Destroyers? The Endar Spire was only a small support vessel. I am sure the Republic had something at least as big as an Imperial Star Destroyer at its disposal. As for interior design, the Leviathan looked fairly generic to me. As for interior design, whether its Sith or Republic, that probably has more to do with its origin, whether it be the Star Forge, or a half dozen companies the Republic probably contracted to build their ships. Remember, the Sith and Republic care more a ships offensive capabilities than the interior decor.
-
Thats not a very good comparison. The Endar Spire was only a frigate. I am sure the Republic had bigger ships than that. Thats like watching SW:A New Hope, and saying that because Leia was only on the Corvette, that was only the type of ship the rebels had. I doubt it was that. Probably there was some sort of mechanism in the Star Forge that could differentiate which ships to knock out and which not to.
-
Seconded. The Jedi Investigator is just great.
-
Except, the Leviathan was a former Republic Warship, so the architecture is probably not going to tell you anything. Its probably standard for most warships. Leviathan was star forge made...ie not republican Was it? Where did it say that? I am curious.

But by that same argument a lightsaber would also limit your ability to submit to the force, since you are relying on something other than your force affinity to get things done. Whether it is to disable, kill, or intimidate your opponent. Or to protect yourself from blaster bolts or what have you. No offense, your idea is better than most others I have heard but it does not have everything covered. TripleRRR Except, for the Jedi, killing with the Force tends to lead to the Darkside. So using a Lightsaber allows the Jedi to do the one thing he will not do with the Force, that is, kill. I've never bought into that because the Ligthside kills too. I'd put money that there are several Sith who have died at Yoda's hands. Being on the lightside on the force doesn't exclude you from violence. It's the type of violence that seperates you. They're Jedi not Monks. Umm..I said they don't kill with the Force. Not that they don't kill at all. Thats what the Lightsaber is for. Oh I imagine quite a few Jedi have Force Pushed Sith troopers into oblivion. Your thinking of Force Strike. Which in the D20 rules nets you a DSP when used against a living being. Obi-wan and Qui-Gon used Force Strike up the wazoo in the Phantom Menace against the Battle Droids. But Battle Droids aren't living.

Questions the the Devs - Take 2
Indalecio replied to EnderAndrew's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'd imagine the Jedi Watchmen more being more along the lines of Cop. A Cop with super-powers, mind you. -
True, but you don't get to be a really powerful Jedi by being careless. The Jedi have Farseeing, Danger Sense, and other powers to avoid being caught off-guard. Such a thing (rarely) might happen, its not going to be an everyday occurence.
