Paying homage to the old thread... I want people to collect whatever plot "floors" in KOTOR I they can find. I'll start with the obvious ones: 1. Bastila is a Padawan whose task is to stay in the background and do Battle Meditation. How did she end up in a Jedi strike team sent to capture the Dark Lord of the Sith? 2. Calo Nord survives the destruction of Taris, even though Davik's estate was falling apart, the only ship capable of evading the blockade was gone, and he was buried under a pile of rubble. 3. It takes several weeks to retrain Revan as a Jedi. All these weeks Malak is doing nothing and then chooses to destroy the Jedi Enclave after Revan and the company left it. 4. How did Revan and Malak reach the Star Map on Tatooine for the first time if there was a krayt dragon guarding it? (Well, unsure, maybe the dragon came later.) 5. The Dark Jedi in the Temple - they sort of remind me of that one Dark Jedi on Bespin in Jedi Outcast who was sitting in a small 3*3 m room locked with a security key from outside... 6. HK-47 says he was built after the Mandalorian Wars, yet he says that one of his masters (a Mandalorian) sent him to assassinate Mandalore. Was there another Mandalore between Ultimate and Canderous? 7. None of the Sith ever recognize Bastila. Even when the heroes are running around with lightsabers, the Sith on Taris and Manaan are totally ignorant. Only on Korriban Bastila suddenly gets concerned about being recognized and stays behind. People who should have recognized Revan include Carth, Juhani, possibly Canderous (maybe he knew, but decided not to tell Revan), and at least some of the townsfolk on Dantooine. Well, unless Revan never took off the mask during the Mandalorian Wars and during his training.

Well, interesting speculation about Mandalore and the Ravager. Possibly in the dark ending, you and Visas were to infiltrate the Ravager and kill Nihilus while Mandalore would blow the Republic flagship (Sojourn). Then the Sith, even without Nihilus, overwhelm the Republic and destroy Citadel Station (malmov06.bik).

Kreia didn't voice-lock the navicomputer, Revan did. If it had actually been Kreia, Exile would have asked HK-47 to mimic her voice. She simply need another reason for Exile not to dump her.
-
Mandalore. However, if Mira uses the Force, the others simply don't stand a chance.
-
Plain and simple: the possibility to unlock the navicomputer was cut. Besides, it's not that important, since in the end you learn about the Ebon Hawk's trip to Malachor anyway.

KOTOR 1 and 2 Comparison..which is better?!?!?
Sikon replied to droidean's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
There were so many revelations in Star Wars, starting from "Luke, I am your father"™, it isn't even funny anymore. The romance thing is just something I dislike and think the game would have been better without it. But it's just me. -
If you do DS things, Kreia equally despises you.

KOTOR 1 and 2 Comparison..which is better?!?!?
Sikon replied to droidean's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Actually, K1 has more plot "floors" (paying homage to the old thread) than K2. I think I should resurrect that old thread. -
She does. Not much of a backstory, but it's not nonexistent. Hey, it's not Bao-Dur's fault that hearing "Yes, General?" causes Exile to lose their tongue and be unable to say anything but "Never mind".
-
If you consider what HK says about himself in K1, then definitely his is the best. However, if we only consider what's seen in K2, then it will be G0-T0.

Main K2 Plot Devices & overall KotOR Universe

I think the concept art was deliberately made that way - showing the audience a false protagonist and a false antagonist. And why do you say Bastila may not even be a Jedi? The "rag-tag Jedi" you mention are not Jedi, but Bastila is. -
Setting Revan's gender and alignment (and your previous lightsaber's appearance) through conversation smelled a bit like consensus reality (like telling everyone that your name is Adahn in Planescape: Torment, only to discover the real Adahn pop out from nowhere). Considering the decisions, I've just realized that Kreia may have been subtly breaking the fourth wall (you obviously can't openly break the fourth wall in Star Wars) during the Rebuilt Enclave sequence. "Never doubt what you have done. All your decisions have brought you to this point." This may be referring to the player, unsure if they picked the right dialogue options throughout the game. Like on Malachor, when Kreia says "Perhaps you were expecting some surprise <...> There is no great revelation, no great secret. There is only you." A not-so-subtle reference to K1 (and ESB, for that matter), and the first "you" (I'm not so sure about the second "you") obviously refers to the player, not the player character (Exile).

Is revan stupid or smart for leaving his friends
Sikon replied to Masta Revan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I always presumed Revan went on a suicide mission - maybe realizing that he would bring doom to the Republic by staying its servant... This is why he went alone - he didn't want to bring doom to his companions as well, as they were innocent. And frankly, given what the developers have done to Revan, I hope I'll never see him again. I can imagine a possible scene in K3 where you find Revan's tomb and the ruins of what was once the Sith Empire in the Unknown Regions - and Kreia's Force ghost saying: "Perhaps you were expecting some action, for you to fight side by side with Revan, and finally understand his decision to leave his friends behind. There is no great revelation, no fierce battles for you to fight. There are only these ashes." Just kidding... -
Well, I was fond of the idea of "not knowing what you're answering"... It felt like generating the game's backstory on the fly. The character knows more than the player, so the player can learn something of the character's possible backstories from the available responses - and then choose what backstory they like. For example, choose the reason for joining the Mandalorian Wars during the conversations with Bao-Dur and Malak's vision.

Main K2 Plot Devices & overall KotOR Universe
Sikon replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'd say the True Sith thing is stupid, however, it feels like a forced decision from LucasArts. Kreia's mumblings let me under the impression they were reluctant to even mention the True Sith. The two other options may be questionable to be appropriate, but not stupid. The compulsory doom of the Jedi and the Sith doesn't seem so strange when you consider that Kreia was manipulating you into revealing and destroying the remnants of both. And the ultimate fate of both orders does depend on you: if you're LS and set Revan to be LS, you know there are some Jedi left (like Atris and Bastila), if you're DS, you become a Sith and use Malachor as your residence, while all the Jedi are apparently obliterated. -
What do you mean why you know about Nihilus? Kreia and Visas tell you, huh. Now about the navicomputer. It's strange why so many people don't understand it. The Ebon Hawk has never been to the Unknown Regions - Revan left it on Malachor, then took another ship. The sole purpose of the navicomputer-locking thing is to prevent you from learning the Ebon Hawk has been to Malachor, until it's the time. What happened to Atris? This depends on you. Either you kill her, or leave her to rethink her life.

Well, it could have been Exile themself who activated it, if the controls were very simple. After all, if Exile simply retold Revan's order to Bao, why was it Exile who suffered?
-
The Mandalorian Wars lasted from 3,963 to 3,960 BBY and ended with the Battle of Malachor V, where the MSG was activated for the first time. KOTOR II takes place in 3,951 BBY. So there are nine years.

Well, now I have no choice but to complete the fanfic aimed at redeeming Malak...
-
When the chances of being blasted by a Death Star or a crazy Sith Lord (or a crazy Sith Lord operating a Death Star) are minimal. Therefore, I would say some time after all of the above, under a stable government, be it the Galactic Alliance or its Nth successor.
-
Jerec was not a Sith Lord, he was a Dark Jedi. I'd say Maul, judging by what's seen in TPM, although I heard he's wiser in the books. Malak... well, maybe in the end he was, destroying Taris and believing he is invinclble and all, but he's actually wiser than Revan in the dream movie. And he did quite a job in recruiting Exile for the Mandalorian Wars.
-
Storyline-wise, it was K1 that was closer to the films. The first part of the game (up to Dantooine) pretty much follows Anakin's story in TPM (with some ANH elements), while the ending (after arrival on Rakata Prime) is almost a copy of ROTJ. The K2 story felt more unique, at least, even if we consider the "last of the Jedi" factor that doesn't quite suit the KOTOR era.

Vandar is confirmed by Vrook to have died on Katarr. He could return as a Force ghost, though, but this would only prove that they have run out of ideas. Exile is technically a Padawan. Considering Bastila, it was theorized that she was promoted to Knight after K1, or maybe even during it - after all, she tells Revan that she presumed her quest for the Star Forge to be an opportunity for her to reach the rank of Master. Someone even suggested that Revan was her Padawan. Wild speculation, I know. Besides, we still have one Master to lead this "ragtag group", although she will probably refuse to have any deals with the new Jedi. And actually, having a Master isn't even necessary, having a Knight is enough, as most Knights gain Masterhood after training their first Padawan into Knight status.

Kel Algwinn, for that reason. Although he and Yuthura were probably killed in the bombardment.

No, you can count me as well.
