Movies you have seen lately
Ocean's thirteen: Nice movie, fun to watch, and no one dies. Which is a nice chnage from time to time. I am Legend: Absolutly loved it.

Is it finally here? The death of the fantasy genre?
No, that's called fiction.
-
Irony
The entire sci-fi/fantasy debate.
-
J.R.R. Tolkien
I wouldn't really call it fantasy, more of a medieval sci-fi. /sarcasm Happy Birthday, dead guy!
-
Mass Effect
I've only died a few times... and that's only when fighting the big four-legged geth or rocket towers. At least we get to see the oh-so-awesome desintegrating effect more often.

Is it finally here? The death of the fantasy genre?
True, that does make sense. The Force is never really explained, which basically makes it magic... Neither are lightsabers...

Is it finally here? The death of the fantasy genre?
It's you. At the very base, Fantasy is fiction that isn't explained scientifically while Sci-fi is fiction that tries to explain it's fictional part with science. The end result is of course impossible, but it has an explaination that is believable. With all the arguments about fantasy I've heard here, it sounds like sci-fi is fantasy itself. It makes it sound like something like "the matrix" is actually fantasy.

Mass Effect
Same here. Not only did I have an armor with about 800 shields (with mods), but I also had weapons that overloaded in 30 seconds, not to mention they never lost accuracy.

Is it finally here? The death of the fantasy genre?
Is it me or is everyone suddenly confusing fantasy with fiction?

KotoR 3: Ideas, Suggestions, Discussion, Part 24
K3 needs blood. I see blood mentioned on the Rating box thingy, but I don't see any blood ingame. Seriously. I'm not asking for huge blood spurts when killing an enemy (lightsabers have a tendency to heat-seal wounds), but at least some sort of blood from an unshielded enemy being hit with a sword. Though I have to admit, after playing Mass Effect, Kotor's sword combat looks a bit silly.

Happy New Year!
The aliens will force a meteor into our orbit that will spread the diease that turns everyone into zombies. Then a nuke goes off. Nah, you got it all wrong. The aliens will use a nuke to redirect a diseased asteroid towards Earth, splitting it into lots of debris so the disease that turns people into mindless zombies spreads faster. Either that or the Reapers come back. That would be cool. But what if you get a third arm? You'll be useless compared to the guy who gets heat-vision. In my case, I'm wishing for meat-vision *sprays sausages out of his eyes*

Happy New Year!
What I really want to know is wether we'll die from the zombie invasion, the metor, the disease, the aliens or the nuke rush?

The Truth about America
The religion one was very interesting... I was expecting something along the lines of "Jesus/God isn't real and here's why" but I was surprised to learn something. On youtube. On the internet. EDIT: The 9/11 vids are really disturbing... for me anyways. Especially the building that collapses for no reason. EDIT:

Happy New Year!
Happy new year and congratulations on surviving level 2007. Build some nuclear bunkers fast, or you won't stand a chance on level 2012.

Mass Effect
Just checked the game guide... and I've pretty much done all the side quests outside of the citadel (only about 9 or more in the citadel). But even then, 23 hours is a lot shorter than what I expected... I spent more time on Kotor's main quest.

Baby born in McDonald's toilet
Even as a joke, this is still ridiculously harsh.
-
Mass Effect
Am I doing something wrong? I finished my second playthrough, the one where I was looking for every side quest, and I got the completist achievement... in under 23 hours. Granted, I never really returned to the Citadel, so I might have missed a few (if not many things), but I still got the completist achievement... not to mention explosive ammo, Super-armor with ridiculously powerful shields and rifles that never miss. Am I missing something? How many side-quests can you find on the Citadel anyway?
-
Mass Effect
Same here. Start by doing lots (or at least some) side quests, then go to Therum (in the top-corner system in Artemis Tau) to get Liara. It's the easiest planet. No need for heavy weapons or armor. Feros plays a lot like a corridor shooter, so get good weapons first. Noveria is easy enough, except for Benezia... you need a decent level (and shields/health) before you can take her on. About the facial customisation... yes, it is a bit of a pain. My first character was nice though, and I recently realised he looked a lot like Vin Diesel. My second character (female shepard), is a bit weird. It's hard to make a decent looking woman in this game. They all have huge eyes and plastic hair.

Is it finally here? The death of the fantasy genre?
I wouldn't mind seeing Fantasy die... for a while. I don't think I'd enjoy an overload of sci-fi RPGs though. I say, bring on the steam-punk-1930-to-1960-alternate-universe-action-RPGs! Magic in a setting like Bioshock's or Crimson Skies would be awesome.
-
Mass Effect
More systems are available after the first few main planets... maybe more become available after another point in the game? Maybe after you leave the Citadel with the help of Anderson? There's probably a LOT of side quests in the Citadel though... you just have to find them.
-
Mass Effect
I've only started my first "main planet" (the one with Liara)... and that's AFTER playing for 7 hours looking for random stuff to do. I got to high levels fast and now have a specialization class (nothing special)... I didn't even get there on the first playthrough. Oh, and I found EARTH! YAY! Except nothing happens on it... Yawn. I'm starting to like the music more.. reminds me of the old Red Alert games. EDIT: My Biotic terrorist side quest is bugged. I got in the warehouse, but found no captain Kyle. So I shot an explosive barrel which was accidently right next to a terrorist, so the guy got angry like it was all my fault ( ) and then shots were flying everywhere until I killed them all. Still can't complete it though.

Mass Effect
I beat it in 13 hours by doing absolutly no side quests at all. Don't do this, seriously. Mass Effect is so much mroe fun when exploring everything.
-
Mass Effect
LOL @ Asari sex too. Virmire was awesome, but Ilos was the best. Joker is the best. Also, this game is amazing. The "walking on the wall" part was just plain awesome, not to mention the final boss fight. I've finished the game in barely 13 hours, so I'm going back in as a female **** renegade shepard this time, while trying to do pretty much everything. Captain Anderson is badass.

Mass Effect
I don't like most of the music... it's always "mysterious". Gets annoying. Also, the french version isn't so bad.
