  1. Snake near Freedon Nadd's tomb? I've never seen it... well, then again, I usually don't go down to the water... I didn't think anything would be down there. I'll try it next time thru. There is the hidden "cheat" screen in the hidden base of the Jekk' Jekk Tarr, but I haven't done it yet, just read about it on Gamespot.com. I think it's in the room where you have to escape using the lift (when you're playing as Mira or Hanharr), which in doing so opens the door for the exile. Before you do that though, as soon as you enter the room, head towards the back wall and if your "target" appears on the wall, quickly press the talk/action button and let the character walk to the wall. Supposedly, you'll have a conversation with an Ubese soldier who is behind the wall, and it gives you a list of some random cheats... I don't know if they're any good or not, but from what I hear, it doesn't sound worth the effort. But, if you want to try it, feel free.
  2. Yeah, go here: Crimsonkeep.com Has tons of screenshots... maybe not specifically what you're looking for, but I'm sure you'll find some goodies there.
  3. You never really know. It appeared to have been because when the asteroids started to explode, the Harbinger was right in the middle of it. But then again, Darth Sion was "special"... he "couldn't be killed", supposedly. So, maybe he held the Harbinger together as Darth Nihilus did with the Ravenger. You notice when he arrives at Peragus, he's flying the ship using the Force. So, it could be possible the Harbinger survived the explosion... because Darth Sion definitely did. But, no official background on that, I'm afraid...
  4. Wow, Jediphole... that's a good interpretation.... and so exact with the dialogue from KOTOR II... especially Kreia's. I just actually went thru that part of the game yesterday, so that monologue is still fresh in my mind. But, Lord Miltiades has a point. Yoda says "Fear is the path to the Dark Side" in Episode I. So, if that's true, then what exactly was the Exile afraid of, and how did that keep him/her from turning to the Dark Side? I mean, the Exile could have been afraid of being turned, and to prevent that from happening, cut off his/her connection with the Force. Who knows?
  5. I've noticed that if you said Revan was a light side character (no matter whether its male or female), you get to see Carth during certain cut-scenes throughout the game (and in the very last cut-scene on Telos before you go to Malachor V, if the exile is light side, you get to speak to Carth... and when you leave him, Bastila appears). If you said Revan was a dark side character, you get some other black admiral instead of Admiral Carth Onasi. Also if you're dark side and said Revan was too, you'll find a Sith Holocron in Uthar Wynn's room (the one you have to blow open with thorium charges from the Library) in the Sith Academy that when you select it, Bastila appears with a little background info. Just some subtle differences, but nothing that really affects the overall gameplay.
  6. Dont get out much do you? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Seven times isn't as much as I've heard others have played thru it... and I get out quite a bit, actually. I don't sit there and play 24/7... sometimes I rarely get to play at all some weeks. If I had more time to play, then I'd probably agree with Master_Vrook... it wouldn't take as long to finish a time thru the game. I know pretty much everything there is to know, where to get it, how to do most things, etc., etc. And like Vrook said, I try to do things to spice it up a bit... make it more challenging. Like, on my next time thru, I want to use armor only, no Jedi robes or the "Jedi" armor. That'll definitely challenge me because I'll have to rely more on my melee skills than Force powers (since a lot of good ones like Master Speed or Force Storm are restricted by armor). The only Force power I rely heavily on is Master Speed, so it'll take a little getting used to. But, I tell you... I've never played thru a role-playing game and thought, "I'd like to do that again..." until KOTOR I. (Then I did go thru Fable twice, but it got old during the 2nd time thru) Then KOTOR II... only 2 RPGs I've played more than twice. No Final Fantasy, no Tales of Symphonia, no Phantom Star whatever-it-is, and certainly not Morrowind (I couldn't take 5 minutes of that game... took it right back to Blockbuster, said it was defective, and got to get another game )... or any of those others (including Jade Empire). So that's got to say something for the game. Even though it has faults, people still play it, multiple times over... and eagerly await word of KOTOR III. Smells like success to me.
  7. I have the XBOX version. And I think KOTOR II deserved some awards. Granted it has flaws... more than we'd all like for it to have, but I tell you, I never thought an RPG would have such an immersive story and replay value. I'm on my 6th time thru (currently on the Ravenger, so I'll be done with the game in about 1 1/2 hours... then I'll start on my 7th time thru (w00t) . You can't deny it rides the coat tails of KOTOR I... but there were some things added that improved on KOTOR's gameplay and introduced training your companions as Jedi. (Although I like that as much as the fact that the footlockers, metal boxes, etc. now say EMPTY after you've looted them. Its the simple things, but man, its helpful.) The frame rate problems cut into the action too much. The item randomizer is rediculous. But overall, it does bring a whole new chapter to the Star Wars KOTOR series that is quite addicting, despite its flaws. I agree that Jade Empire was "good"... but it didn't grab my attention like the KOTOR series. I was bored with it after the second "chapter", level, whatever. I didn't even beat the game. Don't really care to. But KOTOR II... I'm just an hour or two away from finishing my 6th time, and I'm going to play thru it again. Good job Obsidian... but if you guys are indeed on board for KOTOR III, listen to the people on these boards to make the 3rd installment the one to blow us away!
  8. I see. GL screwed "that" up, did he? According to whom? Some comic book? Also, stop using coloured fonts, it makes your already pointless comments even more unreadable. To answer the original question, the three colours were given meanings by Bioeare when they created the game. There is no reason to ascribe any subtext to the colour of a lightsabre beam (except red has only ever been used for Sith). Of course I don't expect it will be long before some zealous fanboy revisionist explains that the colours have always had deep, intrinsic meanings based on long-established principles. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, mrchallenge, I appreciate the gesture. Not all people have to be on the hate bandwagon. But since metadigital started, lets see if he can finish, shall we? First off, I want to see you come make me use a different color. What's that? Can't? Well, guess you'll just have to find somewhere to stick that thumb. " It obviously didn't keep you from reading it, then posting this weak attempt to cut on someone who has an opinion other than the mainstream... which is why I'm guessing you post in plain 'ol white text. Kinda boring, really. Second, I don't read comics, so I couldn't tell you. I just think George Lucas did screw that up, and I'm probably not the only one. That's the beauty of being a free-thinker... your mind is open to things outside of your ego. (Apparently, yours isn't, but we'll try to forgive you for that. ) I think its stupid that Darth Sidious killed 3 Jedi in less than a minute, yet has trouble against a Jedi that looks like he's swatting flies than dueling. My opinion... you won't change it, so save forum space and don't reply to my "colorful" posts. And last... I already addressed the topic at hand, and if some "fanboy" comes along and gives information about it, that's fine by me. It's called an answer, which isn't anywhere to be found in your mindless dribble. So, if you wanna insult others and rag people for having their own opinions or those who like Star Wars and the KOTOR series, then exactly what are you doing posting on these boards? I mean, feel free if you have to, but some people here just enjoy talking about this stuff. Wouldn't expect you to understand.
  9. No... I'd consider Kit Fisto more badass than Mace Windu... except George Lucas screwed that up and made him look like a pansy versus Palpatine/Darth Sidious. Mace is just a Yoda wanna-be. Shoot, C-3PO is more badass than Mace Windu... plus he's comedy relief... at least in Episodes I, IV, V & VI. Not that Master Windu isn't an interesting character, he's just portrayed too... bland. And I like Samuel L. Jackson as an actor, but he just seemed to be missing some "umph" that he usually brings to a character. And that lightsaber battle against Darth Sidious was horrid. Anyway, enough about that... Purple is a decent saber color... just not my preference.
  10. [Exile confronting Darth Nihilus on the Ravenger's Bridge:] Exile: Pardon me, but would you have any Grey Poupon? Darth Nihilus: weird moaning Exile: Ok... how about this one. Could you please pass tha' jelly? Darth Nihilus: weird moaning Exile: Where's the beef? Darth Nihilus: weird moaning Visas: What the hell are you doing? Exile: You said he was hungry...
  11. Heh... purple isn't my version of "bad ass", but everyone has their own preferences. But, they do have meaning: The purple, silver, cyan, viridian, orange, and bronze lightsaber crystals mean that you have more colors of lightsaber blades to look at other than blue, green, yellow or red. :D " But really, if Mace Windu was one of the prime examples of a true Jedi Master, then purple couldn't possibly mean borderline darkside. If I had to choose a color for that, it'd be orange, cause its closest to red.
  12. Heh... or in Nihilus's case, he downs single planets for the main course, sprinkled with Jedi.
  13. This is about as bad as that topic about someone couldn't kill Kreia/Darth Traya. That battle isn't any harder than fighting Master Vrook, Master Zez-Kai Ell (the "Nar Shaddaa Jedi"), or Master Kavar... or Darth Sion and Darth Nihilus (HE is a total joke.... big mysterious Sith that doesn't say anything and may come across as creepy... I "struck him down" like Darth Vader did to Obi-Wan in Ep. IV. You know, when Obi-Wan decided NOT to fight... it was that easy.) :D
  14. I guess my question is why is she so difficult? She wasn't any harder to beat than anyone else in the game? And why so much item-usage and Force usage? Stims are useless, shields are useless, medpacks... well, they might be ok. I use Master Speed... that's it. And I kill her quite easily. Make sure before you go out to the Trayus Core that your lightsaber is equipped with only the best crystals, lens, emitter and power cell. (Anything that raises your attack modifier or energy/physical damage is the best to use.) There's a workbench in the Academy Proving Grounds or Training Grounds or whatever, so use it to beef up your lightsaber before going out to "strike her down". (If there's something you need to build and you don't have a lot of components, then break down everything in your inventory until you have enough... not like you're going to need all those blasters/rifles, armor, grenades/mines, etc. anyway... its the end of the game.) And hopefully you spent your feat points to get Master Flurry, because when using Master Speed, you'll strike 4 times with a single hilt or 2 lightsabers, and 5 times with a double-bladed lightsaber. I usually use a single hilt lightsaber. Call me old-school, but I'm not big into the double bladed lightsaber, and I got tired of 2 lightsabers from playing KOTOR I so much. So, my main character uses only one lightsaber, and I get the job done. Although if you are having problems with the floating lightsabers, take Jediphile's advice and try to split them up and take them on one-on-one. You can beat her.
  15. Never happened to me before, so I dunno. I usually save it before I get to Jorran incase he sells me junk I don't want, I can reload it and he'll sell me other stuff. If you still have a save game before you ran into him, that'd be your best bet and buy it off of him again. (If you're specifically wanting a silver lightsaber crystal, it might take a few times before he'll sell you one again... just the stupid randomizer thing.) Also, have T3-M4 with you so when you complete your transaction with Jorran, you can use T3 to change to the new lightsaber color crystal. If it doesn't show up when you do that though, then I dunno what the problem is. Never did that to me... then again, I play the XBOX version.
  16. And lets not forget the Silver lightsber crystal you are guaranteed to be able to buy from Geeda (in the New Trade Routes sidequest) on Nar Shaddaa after "liberating" Dantooine... unless you sided with Oondar. (Which is usually not a good move, lightsaber-upgrade-wise) Try Adum Larp's shop in Khoonda on Dantooine. Every time I've been to him he's had a red lightsaber crystal in stock. If not though, go to the Scavenger's "settlement" near the Jedi Enclave ruins and talk to the blackish/grey haired lady in the Durasteel Heavy Armor (can't remember her name off-hand) and she'll sell you Jedi artifacts, which she usually has a nice variety of color crystals, so try those and you should find one no problem.
  17. Darkside is right, there's always an orange lightsaber crystal in one of the footlockers in the dormitory section of the Sith Academy on Korriban. I've been thru the game 5 times, and each time it has been there. I'm working on my 6th time thru, so I'll let you know if its there again, but I'm pretty confident it will be.
  18. Some of those "answers" are actually quite obvious. Like, as far as your character goes... the Ebon Hawk doesn't grow a mind of it's own and leave you there, yet at the end of the game you see it flying away from Malachor V... no doubt your character is in there. What I don't get is why it doesn't look as bashed up as it was before it fell into the pits of Malachor V? Also, in her drawn-out death, Kreia/Darth Traya tells you what is to become of your allies, so you know they are alive... most of them. (Not real sure about T3-M4, HK-47, or Bao-Dur though...) You just don't know where the hell they are. Well, except Mira is on Malachor V if you have her instead of Hanharr... and you know she'll make it out alive, but you never see her board the Ebon Hawk before Malachor V meets its fate... again. And Bao-Dur's remote & G0-T0 are on the surface... other than that, who knows? If G0-T0 bit it when Malchor V exploded, I personally wouldn't be that upset... matter of fact, I'd be quite satisfied. He's worthless, and ugly as hell. The same applies to Kreia. (Although you KNOW she kicked the bucket...) I would like to know what happened to everyone else though: Atton, Brianna (the Handmaiden), Mical (the Disciple), Bao-Dur, Mira (after her encounter with Hanharr... if that occurs for you), T3-M4. HK-47... I wouldn't mind it if he was somehow on the surface when Malachor V exploded... I don't have much use for him either, and I'd personally like to have a "protocol" droid accompany T3 in KOTOR III instead of an assassin droid. They don't mesh well, but C-3PO and R2-D2 do. But, maybe we'll find out all these things in KOTOR III.
  19. When you get there, you're already supposed to dance for him. Then once he falls asleep, you put the Juma juice in the kath hound's watering dish. Once they're asleep, then you can loot Vogga's stash. Like I said the first time... all you have to do is go to the flophouse to the next to last door on the left, and Lootra will be there. All you have to do is kill him to get the lightsaber part... you don't have to go to the Exchange to do that... that's only if you're wanting to do get a light side result from that quest, and it shouldn't take you an hour... 20 minutes maybe. (Should only take 2 minutes to kill Lootra though.)
  20. I was typing this out when the topic was locked, and I spent a good amount of time on it, so I'm posting this to answer her question... Quickest way to get your lightsaber parts (I've found, at least) is to go this route: 1st part: Telos - After completing the Ithorian Diplomacy quest, Chodo Habat gives you the first lightsaber part as a token of the Ithorians' appreciation. (That's for light side players. For the dark side, once you complete the Czerka Under Attack quest, head for their shuttle bay and a Duros will be waiting for you there to give you a "gift" from Jana Lorso... the 1st lightsaber part.) 2nd part: Once you're done in Atris' hideout/"Jedi Academy" and get on the Ebon Hawk, choose to go to Nar Shaddaa. Once there, don't really do any quests/side quests that will draw the attention of the Exchange. (Unfortunately, the Exchange bullies on the walkway are unavoidable, but if you dispose of them, you really don't increase your standing with the Exchange much.) Head for the docks and sneak into the first apartment in the Flophouse (using stealth) to overhear 2 "thugs" talking about how to get to Vogga's secret stash. Then go to the Cantina and use stealth to overhear the thugs on the right. Then go to the bartender and get the Juma juice the first pair of thugs mentioned. Then go talk to Domo, the Twi'lek who is looking for a dancer for Vogga the Hutt. You can either send the main character (if female) or the Handmaiden (if main character is male) to Vogga's lair. After you dance for him, pour the Juma juice into the kath hounds' watering dish, then go loot Vogga's secret stash. There's a lightsaber part in one of the bins. 3rd part: By now, you should be either almost fully light side or dark side, and had the cut scene of Visas and her master (Darth Nihilus). Go back to the Ebon Hawk and Visas will be on the ship. Fight her for the 3rd lightsaber part if you're light side. If you're dark side, after leaving Vogga's Lair, go back to the flop house on the docks and enter the next to last door on the left. Lootra will be there. Kill him and take the 3rd lightsaber part off his corpse. (Although do that alone... if you have any party members, you'll probably lose influence with them when you kill Lootra.) Ta-da... now you have all the parts. Talk to Bao-Dur and make your lightsaber. (Although make sure you have a color crystal before you do, else you can't complete the lightsaber.)
  21. Yeah, basically when your acceleration meter is full, you let go of the button and quickly hold it down again to go up to the next gear. (I dunno what it is on the PC, but its the A button on XBOX) Its as easy as that... although I do have to admit, I don't think I've really done any swoop racing in KOTOR II... there's really no side quest for it like in KOTOR I. I think in KOTOR II they focus more on Pazaak than swoop racing.
  22. Just wondering if either E_Motion or Lady Crimson might have done some more of those wallpaper screenshots I requested. Not getting impatient, just trying to keep the topic fresh and on the 1st page of the General Discussion forum. " :D Don't really notice it on the 3rd page.
  23. That's stupid though... I mean, he's an assassin droid, yes, but protocol is also one of HK's functions. I'd think being able to speak to other droids would be a given... if he can talk to Sand People without a feat for it, surely he can talk to a machine. <_< I mean, it's common sense really. So, those feats are just a waste, it seems. Then again, I rarely use any other droid besides T3, so its a waste for me to even level up HK-47 and G0-T0. I'm hoping that their imaginations are more expansive in KOTOR III instead of "rip-off-the-movies"-ish so that if they add a new droid as your companion, it won't be a Gonk droid from the original trilogy.
  24. Ok... Vagrant66 made the original post here... and there are 25 pages to read. After page 2, I decided I didn't care if anyone already commented on certain aspects of Vagrant66's vision of KOTOR III. Seems like certain things were commented on multiple times anyway, so why not beat the horse again, shall we? This statement is quite redundant and incoherant. Plus, it takes away from what I consider to be an improvement on KOTOR I. The ability to gain influence with your companions to further explore their backgrounds is great, especially for the ones that you can eventually train as Jedi. I think this should be expanded upon, not limited. Instead of going through individual things, I'll just say I agree with those who said this is too much like KOTOR I. Because it is, with subtle differences. The whole Max, Martin, or Mike thing... one, those are too common of names in real life to be Star Wars-y. Yeah, there was a Luke Skywalker, but how many Hans do you know? Or Obi-Wans? Or Yodas? (They could have called him Bob in your version of KOTOR III... ) Secondly, although I like that idea, the whole Scout, Scoundrel, Soldier thing was axed in KOTOR II... no reason to revert back to it. But the whole thing is way too similar to KOTOR I's opening... oh, and there's certainly no reason to have a name on a ship. No ship in Star Wars has its name on it... that's Star Trek. Do you see "Ebon Hawk" painted in hot pink on the outside of it?? I don't think so. Ok... first of all, I have the same complaint with "Ben" as I do Mike, Martin and Max... Not Star Wars-y enough. Second, which is bolded (and then the orange bold for the partially correct statement) is Master Dorak. You were correct that he did survive the assault on Dantooine by Malak... BUT, he was killed on Katarr with Master Zhar and those other Jedi that gathered there when Nihilus destroyed Visas' homeworld. (Master Vrook tells you this when you speak to him after the Defense of Khoonda on Dantooine in KOTOR II.) So, that little oversight would have to be corrected. No Master Dorak in KOTOR III. Then that whole conversation after you describe the Jedi Masters on Coruscant sounds like a horrible rough draft of the exile talking to any of the Jedi Masters in KOTOR II. And if the new main charater is a soldier, scoundrel or scout, WHY are they calling him/her a child?! You can't be serious... like, desert wraids from Tatooine, except now they're jungle wraids on a planet that doesn't even have a jungle. I think they can come up with better creatures than palette swaps of ones they've already created.
