That Photo is DEFINATELY heavily shopped http://media.cmgdigital.com/shared/img/photos/2012/03/31/e0/b7/PamBondi_946291a_7.JPG That's one of the better ones. And apparently she's single too for all your 40+ hound dogs.

As an american who mostly became aware of politics under Tony Blair, I get the feeling it's this. Much of todays youth could barely tell you about Clintons presidency, much less George HW, and you have the youth/mid-aged members of Britain crying about how amazingly horrific she actually was. She was removed from office in 1990... How many people can actually claim to have been aware of wtf was going on back then? I can't. As to the Three Day Week? According to Wiki (the best of sources I know) basically it was a set of 3 months where any commercial company could only get 3 days worth of electricity because the Coal Miners were refusing to work. After reading a bit of Wiki, I feel like the problems she had to deal with were more to do with the fact that the nation still had a Royal Family and less that they were "moving into the 21st century!"

I think, due to the nature of the internet, you can't be to sexist on here. Look, I'm gonna run out a parallel here so don't hit me. Gender on the internet is a bit like Religion in the physical world. Everyone knows that everyone else has an opinion on the subject and ascribes to SOMETHING relating to faith, but it's not something that's worn publicly. Therefor it usually isn't catered to in terms of choices and attitudes. When it is worn incredibly openly it's usually because somebody feels passionately about their religion and almost instantly conversation starts swerving around the topics like a drunk is driving. I mean, in terms of normal conversation and news and narratives, the Bible is primarily referenced due to the fact that America has had a predominantly Judeo-Christian path. By the same token, online interactions are mostly handled as if it's just two guys talking, or that gender/sex is a non-issue. Yes, half of the gamers currently active may be female, and the culture doesn't necessairly represent that fact, but the interactions between two gamers are often without any real gender subtext until gender becomes an issue. I do think one thing that's harming this and the industry at large is how stupid the production companies are about how they deal with their customers. I mean there's obvious fetish-bait in things like Lolipop Chainsaw and Onichanbara. But then there's the PR for Record of Aragast War ), and THIS

I think this is really the crux of it. I mean your profile may say you're female, but I normally don't go into somebodies profile and instead just post back to their posts and know them by their Avatar. So I Hurlie as the Hocky dude, Enoch as a Muppet, and Bokoshi as a Hutt. I don't see why it's a terrible thing for gender to always shade online interactions.

I've seen that...it's not actually theirs tho. Just some guy who used to post snippets on YouTube then created his own site to upload his entire recorded collection or something. You can tell it's VHS recorded and I'm fairly sure there's some missing. I'd still rather have it on DVD. It used to be at SiskelandEbert.com they had the full versions of the reviews up from the original film.

I'm not sure what you're experiencing. When I quote stuff i get a quote box and a scroll bar on the right and no problem room-wise. Also the quote box has an arrow on the right that allows me to expand the box. Perhaps this is a browser issue (or I'm misunderstanding your problem)? I only use BBCode to clean up quotes (because doing it outside of the code doesn't seem to work right always). It's mostly trying to do quote splitting, with the forum software hating anything more than 3 three separate quotes, and being tough to get those separate quotes.

On this note, New version of Teen Titans coming out, that's more superdeformed/cartoony than the last. Learned that when I went to see GI Joe Retaliation. Honestly? Pretty good flick IMO, self contained, and did what it needed to. Although I could see them releasing an unrated/R version of it, because NOBODY is killed on screen... officially. You do hear the death screams and see people obviously stabbing others who are just out of shot. It is what it wants to be, a popcorn flick to kill a couple hours with over the top action and fun. It's not gonna force you to question anything. Best part is that the main villains actors seemed to have a complete ball with their roles, particularly Jonathan Pryce.

I know this is old but they have their entire video library up on a site. http://siskelandebert.org/videos It's slightly busted right now but *meh*

Watch replays? Ultimately I don't think most of us will ever get out of the "Bronze League Hero's" level Simply because of the required "APM" and level of control of micro/macro. And Drowsy, You'd probably want to avoid this campaign. It's got a better structure to it than the last one, but they couldn't decide on the tone.

Can we please adjust the board to be easier to manipulate? I'm getting very frustrated having to fight with quote boxes and a tiny reply space just to post. Particularly with magical quote boxes that appear if you hit enter, and won't let you reply beneath them. And don't tell me to switch to BBCode mode, because that just kills my eyes trying to read anything with dark grey on grey background.

Yes and no. There is a quad of flashpoints where Revan turns up and basically ends up impotent because he's limited totally to those flashpoints. Dun dun dun dunnn duh dunnn... Best Star Wars games ever. Not all that effeminate lightsaber swishing stuff. So, I better hang on to my DVD trilogy with the original cinematic releases, including irrefutable proof that Han shot first. (downside was, you could only buy them bundled with the crappy ret-conned versions, but nobody forces me to watch those) HA! Got you beat, I still have my VHS tapes from the 1996 release before the first Special Editions.

Got the C&C 17 collection... Started playing Red Alert 2 (overall my favorite game simply because of the over the topness of it), but the fact that it shutters when you try to widescreen it kinda drove me from playing to much of it. Instead i installed Tiberium Wars and have been working through that. I gotta say, the pathfinding in that just HURTS. I just spent most of a "commando" mission (where you get your first Obelisk as Nod) fighting with the pathfinding. Similarly, the AI is overagressive with your units, and if they see an enemy they'll start marching towards it to kill it, leading to your army slowly stringing itself out to kill 2 dozen different things and dying. Still, playing this makes me wish that EALA would go back, say "C&C4 never happened" and give the game a proper sequel. Suppossedly C&C4 was just designed to be a sort of F2P multiplayer game in the universe, but one of the suits decided to order a campaign and single player tacked on for money's sake. It's.... stupid.

Well, I doubt Warren Spector would do that. As to the actual adventure games? I think that's more a matter of interest. Disney is really good at making 100 million dollars, not so good at making 5 million. Games might not be something they want to really start digging into because of how much money they'd have to pour into a development cycle to get something good out of it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Disney_Interactive_Studios_games And it's not like they haven't done ANYTHING. Split/Second, and Tron 2.0 are pretty good standouts overall. And LucasArts wasn't known for it's stellar internal development either.

Eh, that's probably due to the fact that Disney is VERY focused on their image. They can't let Mickey be "Dark" in any way because it'd damage his image. Kingdom Hearts had all of the darkness in the story be from the "New" or Final Fantasy characters. Star Wars characters wouldn't have as much image issues.

Were I an exec right now, I'd probably use the Star Wars license to test waters for different genres. An old school adventure game under the Indiana Jones name, a new Xwing game... but I'd have to make sure they were low budget and that the controls were working properly. Probably couldn't rely on everyone having a joystick anymore.
-
Well, the biggest things that people can remember from Disney in recent memories is Kingdom Hearts and Epic Mickey. I'd say that this gives the licensed devs a lot more freedom because they don't end up in the "Look, do it or we can your project" like Kotor2 and XWA were because their publisher isn't going to be as strapped for cash. Like I said though, LA was at that point where it didn't know what it wanted to do. They stopped and restarted internal development, what, four times? Were I in the industry I'd not want to go near a LucasArts job because I'd think it'd be lost in another 18 months after the suits decided to kill internal development... again.

i'd have killed the studio too. They couldn't seem to understand what their customers wanted.

Since when did "That 70's Show" become a nostalgia trip for kids born in the 90's?

http://kotaku.com/the-stunning-debut-trailer-for-hardware-a-game-by-some-464366720 Dude, FRIGGIN HOMEWORLD! It's made by the guys who worked on Homeworld, and a lot of the "wrecked stuff in the desert" and just the "desert planet" look exactly like Homeworld.

Probably because it didn't feel like the sequel. It could still use the Brand, but it shouldn't be a direct sequel, like you said. I think it'd be interesting to see the games industry run by gamers who wanted to make money, but also could have a little bit of personal indulgence for "chance" projects. Right now our developers are scared of trying to sell a new IP simply because names bring in a fanbase. If there was somebody in charge who wanted to be more friendly to his customers, and was willing to take chances on newer IP's you'd probably see a few changes in how that company was viewed. I do think we're gonna see some interesting things happen in EA with Ricatello leaving.

Neither are Latinos. Seriously, there's a reason why "Latino" is not marked on your census or official forms you have to fill out for the Government. In the 50's and 60's they pursued a "whiteness" strategy where they were getting themselves listed as "White" on all the cenus forms to get around the fact that (at the time) there were only to races "White" and "Black". In fact, if you look at most of the legislation made at the time it was made, it only ever refers to Whites and Blacks. And, for the record, it took until 1971 for women to be recognized as a "minority" group that could not be discriminated against. Personally, I think it would fall under Equal Protections given that they've set the precedent for them to "add" minorities to the list. And GD: I'm not entirely sure what you're saying got bypassed in this case. And it looks like Prop 8 isn't the only thing currently being heard Windsor v United States is going under the gun tomorrow. It deals with the economic issues I pointed out earlier. And the Prop 8 fight has the District Court also saying that Due Process Clause was violated, as well as Equal Protection. Specifically Substantive Due Process. Edit: I donno... it seems like all the appellate judges were shrugging at each other about who could actually appeal this. Mainly because the named defendants in the case (Arnie and the AG of CA at the time) refused to defend it. And the California courts ended up allowing another group to file the appeal. The overturn decisions seem to be based on the idea that Marriage, in government terms, is a social construct, and to deny marriage to any couple is to deny the social and economic benefits of that construct. As such, Prop 8 has as much substance to it (beyond "I don't like the gheys!") as the law that brought about the Loving case.

There is a scale difference going on. With all of those listed, probably the closest to what SC is is Sins of a Solar Empire. Your scale is MUCH smaller overall from all of that, with each fight being in small parts of the worlds and bases not being persistent between levels (except in maybe one VERY Special case in the original I think... >.>). The campaigns are good, although HotS does suffer a bit of "not really sure what we're gonna do here" syndrome. Just to warn you SC2 is going to require you as "always online" or close to it. Mainly because everything that Blizzard does is tied to Battle.net. As part of that you create a "real id" with your name and a "Battletag" with a handle that show up in game. Both of these can be used to befriend players like Steam although the integration is FAR less obtrusive.
