So your saying that The Sith War, Jedi Civil and about a thousand other brush conficts didn't cound because the government reformed? That sounds like saying that the Revolutionary war (american) didn't count because we had to rebuild washington DC after the War of 1812

easiest way to keep malak from regenrating is to get life drain and hit the poor jedi with your own attack.

In terms of MTG it's a different type of mana. @Yeti: ultimalty both sides of the coin of light and dark can become ghosts. Difference is that the ghosts look different in contrast to the world around them (dark side looks more like a human shadow with differences in darkness defining the features, light side is bright and shiney enough to distract a blond). And both can still join with the force, however the Jedi often don't try to contain the force and use it like you would a Jug of water, instead they let it flow like water over them because it's always there, The Sith like to contain it. thus when they get killed and can no longer contain it they explode. Jedi Just fade.

I think the problem lies in the question "what is the Old Republic?" Because, correct me if I am wrong but, continuity-wise, there is only the Old Republic, Galactic Empire (movie era) and New Republic (post-movie, Vong era). In a sense, the demise of Bane gave way to a "new Republic" but that term cannot be used because it is already in use. I think, eventually, we will see constructs such as 1st Republic, 2nd Republic, etc. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was just a reforming of the Old Republic. the New Republic was an entirely different structure, as was the Empire, Alliance of Free Planets, and Galactic Alliance of Free Planets. When the Old Republic was reformed it was still the same governement with a Chancellor and everything. Thus it's still the Old Republic. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And yet you claim that it was a different government. I say if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and fly's like a duck, it is a duck. same with the republic.

Ummm I'm going to ignore Boush05 because he has a 3000 year gap between characters lives.... anyway I would think the character could start on Taris like GOA suggested, but he should be blaming Revan for this and as the story move he become a jedi, but he's still obsessed with finding and punishing revan for Taris.(thus we have a plausable reason he would actually go to the darkside rather then the light) Taris is about learning the basics. you gain lvls but you don't actually lvl up (like the whole "save your stat points and Lvlups on taris so you can be uber jedi!" thing). the lvling up and such comes later at corecant where you are taught about the more complex things and the force. this is where you are first allowed to lvl. then you follow revan. except you start at the Star Forge planet then move to Korribon and byond. I'd have to be linear at least until you find a clue as to where Revan went after he left the limelight.
