  1. I think the PS3 and Wii are starting to shift places as the wii has over extended itself and customers are starting to get frustrated with the fact they need a grand in order to get everything up and running, and the PS3 is now cheaper and actually pretty dang useful. MUCH easier to sell. Xbox is still going strong simply because of the establisment of it's brand and the sheer size of it's game library.
  2. teehee I know, I just like to make people uncomfortable sometimes :D
  3. ... *points to bulge* I don't think women have that in ANY society.
  4. Working on ramping up my difficulty on Civ IV. My biggest problem is that I'm trying to ramp up my cities all at the same time, and keep forgetting to build up armed forces to deal with the inevitable invasion of 500 units by the random aggressive berk.
  5. well, they did have some jokes and references that only japanese americans would get (emotion mags for example) American+Crazy=
  6. nah, he was shot four times in the stomach by his girlfriend who was carrying his kid at the time under mind control
  7. it's only like one or two hours about a group of batarians who hijack an asteroid and throw it towards earth. Batarians were only mentioned tangentially in the main game.
  8. well, hey, when you gotta say something, might as well scream it.
  9. Voluntary vassaling is fairly common for certain AI civs when they are losing badly and have the tech needed for vassalhood. The more obstinate ones won't do it (Monte, Shaka, etc.), but the more peaceful, tech-focused rivals will do it surprisingly quickly. You've just got to be careful that they capitulate to you and not to one of the other Civs that joined in your war. (There is actually a "dogpile" variable in the AI's warmaking decisions-- they are likely to join in for part of the spoils when a rival is being crushed.) But if you're rolling pikes over with tanks, you'd probably be having more fun playing on a higher difficulty level. Well... it was Kublai Khan. But I'm gonna try a higher diff next time. It's just that when I do I usually get stomped or end up in a massive stalemate.
  10. WoW... I just realized I need about 560 badges of frost PLUS five tier tokens in order to have all of the best items for me. This is going to hurt (you get 2 emblems for a daily dungeon, 5 per week from raid, and 2 from every boss in icecrown(there is sixteen)) Also I've played a bit of Civ IV... I actually had a civ come to me and say "LET ME BE YOUR VASSAL MASTER!" after I used tanks to beat up his pikemen.
  11. I have NEVER played FF VIII and so far am enjoying it. I am NOT that far into it yet. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the card game (After I spent.... more hours than I will admit to on learning it.) The Junction system is.... interesting so far. Plot wise I've been enjoying the card game too much... perhaps tomorrow I shall advance with the story. I am honestly just playing this and looking at RPG mechanics in it that (from a game made in 1999) that are actually better than our "New S*^&" AAA RPG's, out now. The sheer fact you can COMPLETELY avoid all random encounters by walking on the road (In the beginning area) is..... mind boggling. A jRPG... with a no levelling area. *GASP*. I think that they were able to do that because of the way that leveling is done (everything is set around your level than having specific areas for specific levels). Otherwise they'd need to make it so you had to grind out levels as you walked between places.
  12. Well Mechwarrior is getting rebooted, and Forever finally died earlier this year officially.
  13. I think that was mainly You know, so it didn't seem like you reversed time.
  14. Although I own myself a PS3 and think it's a terrific concole, I only consider MGS4 to be a must-have in that list. Uncharted, while entertaining, is not the kind of game I'd get a PS3 for. What I'm really looking forward however are HEAVY RAIN and AGENT. That's where the PS3 will shine. The thing is MGS 4 is more an interactive movie than a game. Don't get me wrong I like it, but that doesn't mean it's worth having a PS3 for. It took me a very long time to actually convince myself to get a PS3, on paper, it's the weaker machine, funnily enough I have found myself using it more than my X-Box 360 of late. Uncharted is an excellent exclusive franchise. The problem is it's generic looking PC. Yeah, on paper the ps3 looks a bit weaker, but when you actually play I've found that the experience is smoother.
  15. Don't know about that. They have a lot of users with banned or probation tags (with reasons). Anyway, Escapist boards are probably good gauge of current "hardcore" player profile. For 'em PC is ancent relic, shooters started with Halo, CRPGs started from Oblivion (or Morrowind for those REALLY old skool) and Space Sims, adventure games or turnbased strategy games never existed. It's almost uncanny how many errors there can be even in a single post. There are some oldtimers posting in there but I have to wonder why they bother. there are posters like that, but they aren't as tough on their posters to stay family friendly about things and thus you find that posters can be a lot meaner to one another with less punishment.
  16. The music and art on VIII is great, but the story has a plot twist that'll make you stare at the screen and go BuhWAH!? It's a moronic twist that isn't even covered well by the story itself. Also the dungeons and levels are broken in that if you REALLY wanted to metagame and spend that much time in the first dungeon, you could hit lvl 99 there becuase the mobs spawn to your level rather than to a specific level bracket.
  17. I think it just suffers from having such a big user base that people either fall into the "I've been here so long my ass is rooted thus I'm elite" or "I've just gotten here!" catagory. The first ridicules the latter and thus you end up with a constantly swirling pool of hatred that keeps getting more and more powerful as time goes on. Probably part of this is due to the fact several skillion people joined due to the ZP section (which I think he's getting tired of and loosing his touch) and thus people join to make a comment that he might... possibly... look at and thus validate the guys existence. *shrugs* It'd be like what would happen if it was known Myamoto, Kojima, and Tim Schafer were known to post here with more than just "here's the new stuff guys!" the poster count would skyrocket so fast that it wouldn't be funny. Also there is very little visible moderating going on from what I've seen.
  18. I think it's more "no hay bales" to jump into.
  19. If we set up a liberal and conservative pair of states, who would survive longer?
  20. Honestly, I think this would be a good thing to a degree. You rarely find a country as large as ours being able to subsist with the population centers so far apart. *shrugs* It might also be good as it'd shake up the political system enough that the government can get something done that's worth it rather than just trying to screw itself over in a power play and argue over details that might ore might not be relevant to the discussion or even correct. >.>
  21. Uncharted Uncharted 2 Infamous Metal gear (if you're into that) FFXIII (you just know it's going to be better as it's native to the PS3) God of War 3 Ratchet and Clank...
  22. How about an assassin during the 60's? using the cold war as cover?
  23. Well, my guess is that it'll be set in "modern" times given Desmond can now fight
  24. nah, we're headed back in to 10's tonight, 25 is REALLY rough for the second boss (simply because the adds get so much more strength). And my horde guild cleared two nights ago. That said, my DK is ungodly on the dps meters (doing about 6.7k damage per second for the entirety of ToC25... Number 1 on the meters). It actually scared me a bit. Of course it was even worse on the first day when the shadow portion of scourge strike could crit individually for upwards of 10k (plus a 4-6k physical)
  25. They really need to get WoWspeak to English on Google translate ASAP he's enjoying the new content patch for wow which included 3 new dungeons and the final raid which will put an end cap to the Lich King storyline. In the raid there are currently four bosses released with 12 more to be unlocked, he's gotten 3 of the four dead on the 10 man version of the raid.
