The problem I have with these missions is that they give you a new unit in almost every single mission. It's like "here's how you win", plus I have a few years of SC1 experience (I'm not saying I'm good, I'm a noob compared to most), but still add up these two and it equals extremely easy missions for me. Those missions, while definitely fun and well made, leave extremely little room for experimentation.
I'm fine with that kind of mission sometimes but I mostly don't want to be told what to do. I wanted them to give me the objective "do this", and let me figure out how to do it. That's what I'm hoping for in the final missions, and this drop pods one seems to deliver that.
I wasn't in the mood to multitask as heavily as the drop pods mission seemed to demand, I was tired. I'll try it later.
This is basically because of the non-linearity of the missions. The game cannot bet on you having any particular unit except the MOST basic ones and the ones you get on that missions so the ones on that mission it is.
