Do you mind if the devs had more time?
DarthShad replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
They don't complain much? Haven't you seen all the posts about bugs in the Xbox version? -

But the bugs present are all on what amounts to the exact same system specs (ie. the Xbox). Therefore, they should be easier to fix since it's not like they are caused by different system configurations. I can deal with the odd bug that eventually gets patched. But after all the issues with the XBox version, and the extra 2 months, most of the game stoppers better NOT be present. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes Ghost , I agree. But we already know that XBox version was rushed, so bugs are to be expected. Futhermore, maybe the Xbox hardware is way out of date, and the new additions to the engine, made by Obsidian, lags the console a lot more now...I remember hearing the KotOR 1 lagged a lot when there where particles effects and/or a lot of NPCs around... -

Er...well...my reply still applies...flushed out, fleshed out....they can't chang the story now... -

That wont happen. They already released the XBox version and there is no way in hell that the Xboxers will buy a new and improved (storywise) KotOR:TSL. I can't comment on how the story develops and ends, because I'm waiting for the PC release, but I'm sure I will love the game and I will play it a lot of times, like I did the first KotOR. -

Agreed to an extent. Remember that it is imposible to fix all the bugs, specially since the PC plataform can vary in hardware. What works with a nVidia card, not always works with an ATI card. So yes, I hope they fix the bugs the plagued the XBox, but that doesn't mean that the game will not have bugs in some PC systems... -

:D I guess I will take my faith and optimism somewhere else... No but seriously, let's give Obsidian a chance. They might've have release the XBox version early, but that was Lucasarts call. Not Obsidian. And about the bugs...that's is exactly why I don't own a console. If you buy a buggy PC game, chances are there will be a patch soon enough. You can't do that with a console. -

Haven't played that game. But I have a lot of faith in Obsidian, and I don't think they will let us down. -

I've learn not to argue with you Hades, so I'm not going to start now. You can't convince someone who doesn't want to be convinced... Let's just wait and see when the PC version comes out, shall we... -

Call me naive, Hades, but I don't think that Akari would be stating something like that if it wasn't true. It would hurt Obsidian a lot. But I guess it's your prerogative... -

I totally agree with you about the tech support, but I will buy it nonetheless. After reading the posts on this forum it seems to me that a lot of people will still buy the game. Besides, Akari already stated that they were working hard on fixing the bugs.... -
I remember reading a preview stating that "not only will K2 have downloadable content, but content will be available within the first week." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't believe everything you read unless it is from this site and from a Dev...

...and I was getting my hopes up... back on topic... no way the xboxers will be willing to pay another 50 bucks for a new version of Kotor 2 so it will not happend. The only thing obsidian needs to do is fix all the bugs, and release the game on Feb 05. -

They changed the date? When? Wasn't the date set to Feb. 2005 or this is just wishful thinking on your part? -
Influence system, can it be modified for the PC?
DarthShad replied to kumquatq3's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Perhaps...but I agree with GhostOfAnakin. There must be a large section of code that's behind the influence system and it will take a lot of time to fix it. And even if it's not that way, I doubt that the devs will chage this since the Xbox version is already out which meaning that there is no way for the devs to fix this in the console. -
Er...But if the devs said there is NO level cap, then there is no limit?
-
Such hostility. I sense the dark side in you...

Kotor is NOT and will NEVER be multiplayer. it wasn't desgined with that in mind. Not EVERY single game can have multiplayer. It's simple as that. Can't you guys get it??

Congrats, oh ye noble children of Obsidian!
DarthShad replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Congratulations Obsidian. I'm sure that game will be great. -
No. He is droid. Droids are not force sensitive. Period.
-
And I'm sure we will. The question is how, when and in under what circumstances...I guess we will have to wait and see... Hopefully Revan will have a major role in the story.
-
There exceptions but manuals these days are way too simple. I hope Obsidian/LucasArts give us a better, bigger manual the covers every bit of information on stats, feats, force powers, characters, etc. The NWN manual was pretty good. I was expecting something like that in KoTOR.
-
Agreed. That is the main reason why I didn't like that Dark Side much. I would've love to be able to behave like the Emperor in the movies, rather than a simple bad-tempered-launchbox-money-stealing thug. Hopefully the Dark Side will be more appealing this time...

You're reading too much into this. If by some chance I had actually found something that told what really happened to Revan then no way would I post anything about it. It would lessen the game for too many people. I would be bummed out just knowing myself. Speculation is fun, pre-knowledge isn't. I just thought it kind of neat that you can see the conversation tree that sets the later game story arc. As you say, we already know the gist of it, now we know the mechanics. I was curious to see how they (Obsidian) would do it. The way that the PC has been described up to this point makes him/her seem like they've been living in/on a/the bottle for the last few years. Now we know that he/she at least has heard rumours of events and by relaying those rumours to Atton, we set up the back story. Pretty slick if I do say so myself. Gotag <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My apologies then. Since you added the word spoiler in the title of this post, I thought you had discovered something new in the story. Nevetheless, good work
