Iran, again
So... short answer is... the newspaper got it wrong, and the law encourages islamic dress for Iranian muslims? In light of this neat conclusion, and the fact that ongoing discussion appears to be about religion rather than Iran, I declare this thread 32% off-topic, 37% tedious, and 100% sexy. *gong*

when good campaigns go bad
I had this sudden image of this happening, followed by a Marx Brothers 'wubwubwubwub'. :D

Chinese Woman Eats Neighbour's Roof
Dirt doesn't have salt, fat, and sugar in it. Therefore it can't taste as good.

$1k laser pointer
Hurrah for pointless mutilation! *dances*

Wow, because it worked in N.Korea!!
If there was any way to collect, I'd bet a fiver that if/when a strike is called, some of the facilities are missed. Don't make the mistake of assuming that just because a man hasn't got a suit, and has dust in his hair that he's stupid. Plenty of teh key materiel, particularly personnel, will be dispersed.

Mistaken identity
No offence, but that's the daftest thing I've heard for weeks.

$1k laser pointer
"My application for a 15mW green laser is to point out astronomical objects in the night sky" It can bounce light off stars? Holy shlamolie... Sounds like a great way to blind someone. Er. Wait. I don't want to blind anyone.

R.I.P. Ted Kord
The only superhauman type comic I read is The Authority. Funny and slick all round, but what is especially good is the way they don't waste their superpowers catching burglars. They focus on weird things like genocide.

Wow, because it worked in N.Korea!!
The facilities are perfectly safe provided they are under ground we don't know about.

Tac strikes would only work if we had accurate intel on the locations of tehir materials and workshops. Since we can't even get accurate strategic level intel on what their objectives are, I doubt we will have the former. Tac strikes would simply kill a bunch of their people, and kill a bunch of our pilots.

Chinese Woman Eats Neighbour's Roof
She should totally start a new diet. Like the Atkins thing.

Do you look down on people who...
Good man. I actually didn't vote last UK elections, largely because I was living out of a suitcase and wasn't registered. But I did get out on the doorsteps campaigning. So I feel I still discharged my civic duty to a certain extent.

Pentagon eyes ways to use military
I'm not sure it's sensible to say whether it was for good or ill. We don't know what would have happened instead. And could we TRY to be a bit more restrained on the post sizes? I have to admit I begin to zone out after five paragraphs.

Anyone do Ancient Greek around here?
Glad I could help. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Holy Crab Nebula! Man the Archimedes mirrors!

Chinese Woman Eats Neighbour's Roof
She should travel around for the UN, teaching refugees how to eat mud.

Back pain
You're right. Drink three health potions, and lie down for eight hours. Just make sure your sword is handy in case you find gnolls infiltrating your house.

You'd grind the entire economy to a halt. Far better to remove all sales tax, encourage people to spend. I'm not sure I quite understand your view of Human nature there, Hades. On the one hand you seem to be saying that humans are filthy stinky pigs. And on the other hand that they are nice enough to handle their own affairs on an almost individual basis. I suggest we all read (or re-read) The Man Who Was Thursday.

Yeeeeees... we COULD spend our money on de-desertification projects and education. BUt instead we'll spend it on luxury hotels. Genius!

"Save the internet."
I do not know this Stephen Colbert, but I'm guessing he is a key Whitehouse aide.

Do you look down on people who...
Atr0creep, I don't mean to be cynical isn't your statement somewhat akin to saying "I don't mind going out in the rain, provided there's no water involved?" I really don't see how powerful people are ever going to absent from the decision to go to war. We have the luxury in our countries of trying to see that our personal and tehir personal interests coincide, but you're never going to cut them out entirely. And, as we previously said, you can't run an army using people who fight when they feel like it. Incidentally, I remembered this afternoon that such an Army was tried at least once, in the counter-bolshevik struggles in Northern Russia around Archangel just after ww1. Really didn't work. They got comprehensively tonked.

...We need them for Soylent Green.

And Cerebus. That would rock. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I second that. Evil would not only tremble with fear. It would also be terribly terribly confused.

I hate Sony BMG
I don't worry about music piracy since I installed Cap'n Jimbob's Treble-Cleff gunnery deck on my stereo. Death to Sony BMG. Yaharr.
