I just mean for bragging rights. The cup in game can be anything at all.

You should have built a redoubt out of mealie bags behind the pool table, and held out.

That's more like it. I have realised that in general I detest women who are only after money. Because I haven't got any.- 526 replies

Sorry, Raithe. But I looked at those pictures and my first thought was 'pubic lice infection'. My second was 'I bet they smell very faintly of decaying car tires'.- 526 replies

About the only thing that could explain the honey trap he fell for- who could have been Susan Boyle's sister- is if he only 'fell' for it, so you might be right. Generally speaking it just amuses me to imagine that he was a patsy.

If it's a new thing, what triggered it? Shouldn't you be trying to fix that, rather than just running like a Frenchman? It's been something that I can't do much about. Educated people want us to work in a certain way, I have no education and therefore my word equals crap. Told her how I felt today. From now on, I'll be working in my way. The thing is it won't be possible to do so in the long run because our work overlaps. This is serious business, working with kids to means that the grown ups need to show unity. The British Army codifies the distinction between educated fools and uneducated professionals by putting stripes on the latter and acting as follows: 1. Express your concern clearly but respectfully 2. Indicate that you will follow the new instructions 3. Do the new instructions whenever anyone is watching 4. Continue as normal when no-one is watching 5. The fool will forget the whole thing in about 3 weeks Ask Monte Carlo. He'll confirm this solves the issue.

You'd think with those things it would get stuck on players' hands and not get dropped so often... But you will concede, also harder to throw. ~ Melk, you're a bit of an artist. Could you do a cup for the winner's sig? I was thinking that in honour of Fionavar we could name it the OBSIDIAN LIZARD BUTT CUP

Boiled eggs on dry brown toast with french mustard. It works.

Almost a quarter of men 'admit to rape in parts of Asia'
Walsingham replied to Walsingham's topic in Way Off-Topic
It's really rather academic, albeit worth discussing. I think the most serious aspect is when a girl is essentially comatose. If the guy was also comatose then the odds of rape diminish somewhat. -

Looked like a lifetime of it, to me. Or are you counting on being six feet under in a day? :D I think at the end of the 24 hours you'd wipe the Sicilian olive oil and iron filings from your face, look around the scorched remnants of your bedroom, and wonder where she'd gone. You'd never find out.- 526 replies

Really? But everyone knows that Israel has nukes. It's more of a conspiracy theory to think they don't. Really? My 'pet' conspiracy theory - everyone has at least on - is that your man who was imprisoned for whistle-blowing was Israel's cheap nuke deterrent. Show someone you KNOW is going to tell just enough that he will tell. You generate sufficient doubt over your capability to provide a deterrent, and it costs almost nothing compared with an actual deterrent.

Almost a quarter of men 'admit to rape in parts of Asia'
Walsingham replied to Walsingham's topic in Way Off-Topic
My colleague has been reading this and asked the question: IF the woman can be so drunk that the law deems she is not responsible for her actions in giving 'consent' THEN does it not follow that a man in an equal state of drunkenness cannot be held responsible for his actions in complying with that 'consent'? -
I've been going through my ultimate fast show box again whenever I have some downtime, 'tis sheer brilliance. I just found out it's only 10 quid on Amazon for ALL th Fast Shows. Hard to turn it down.

Serrano and Spider are bang on about risk management. You have to use risk free moves to get yourself ready for the risky ones going wrong. So, obviously you want to move everyone who doesn't need to dodge first. Secondly, for the love of Nuffle, don't 'go for it' in a move unless you really ****ing have to. You will get ****ed, like the big rabbit. Thirdly, only pass the ball by throwing if you have to, or if you don't mind dropping it. It's worth using passes to get SPPs and level your players, or just to look epic. But it's not intended to be used all the time. Remember that the ball is covered in bloody spikes.

WTF are you talking about? 'Natural balance'? This isn't a New Age crystal healing seminar. Syria's not at war because its chakras are misaligned.

I do believe it, that's not the issue but the perspective it creates for the rebels. It will be seen by most as a representation of the entire rebel movement and enforce GD point about the reasons for not going into Syria. And obviously I disagree with that But look, hold on. You will concede that it is at least possible that the rebels are pretty well all Qaeda fundis. Does that change our response?

Clearly it represents on perspective, and one hardly conducive to affectionate positivity. But it is relevant, by way of an illustration. I don't find it at all hard to believe. ~ I'm trying to find some page refs now, but in general I can genuinely recommend reading the Joint Document on British National Security. It's very clear and logical and sensible. And freely made available by the MoD. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/33697/20111130jdp001_bdd_Ed4.pdf

I thought I ought to post this as reinforcing GD's views: From the BBC, an Italian journalist describes his captors, upon release from being a hostage.

I have allowed myself to become more squeamish than is good for me. But overcame it quickly. As you'd expect from an infomercial that looked very impressive. I'd have questions about: - Whether the procedure used could be carried out in the field. Particularly whether being unable to remove a blood surplus would cause a problem. - Whether the use of the material complicates the treatment of other injury types, such as burns - Whether the use of the material complicates cleaning of the wound Although, having said that, the notion of being able to blast a bleedout with material that would at least slow an otherwise terminal haemorrhage equals a win in my book. Mind you, having a couple of fistfuls of powder shoved into your body has also got to hurt like hell.
