What you have to remember is that drinktails were (basically) invented to mask the flavour of crap hooch during prohibition. Don't asssume that there's no good reason to use good booze in a drinktail. Just don't do it yourself unless you know _precisely_ what flavour you are trying to achieve.

Managed to get through the recordings well. Seems that post-vomiting me adds a nice gravelly warmth to my bass notes.

My brother and I are (obviously) identical ethnicities and class. (I'm quite noticeably broader across the shoulders and chest) We both get stopped by cops, but our treatment is massively different. This is what Gromnir (I think) is calling the attitude 'test'. To my brother cops are evil fascist morons, and they seem to act up to this expectation. To me cops are a particularly obscure ethnic group who are obliged by code to try and help people, but don't quite understand why or when. I've never had any significant trouble with cops.

Up betimes, vomited egregiously, hot bath then back to sleep. Woke, played ETW, then The Stanley Parable. Laughed a lot. Am just about to do some more vocals for my friend's album. ...With my raw voice...

Just bought The Stanley Parable, basically because the 'Raphael Cut' advert was worth a tenner.

I can't begin to say how grateful I am for you chaps smacking this down by the time I got here. Firstly because, being properly British, I'm very poor at expressing emotion. And secondly because I'm very VERY drunk. EDIT: Also, Britain or Stalinist Russia. Which would you back?

Doesn't seem to work. All I can see is a small girl waving some books over her head. OK it works if you use the up and down keys on your keyboard.

Doesn't seem to work. All I can see is a small girl waving some books over her head. There should be a START button over her head. Have you tried reloading the page? Pressed that. Expands, then just sits there. Tried again now, same thing. You can scroll down with down button Tried that, didn't work. I HAVE played point and click adventure games, you know.

Er... see a doctor, you fool. Or at least check exactly how high your temp is. High fevers are no joke, and they CAN kill. Plus you should totally get one of your hot lingerie models to come over and nurse you.

What I love is how modern destroyers are basically battleships, but no-one wants to admit they are, because I guess it sounds profligate at committee. Aside: WTF is up with the new Marine Corps headgear? What subgenius thought they should switch to nurses' caps?

UK Muslims targeted for speaking out about terror
Walsingham replied to Walsingham's topic in Way Off-Topic
I do think that there are issues with violence in any culture with core values of: 1) Tribes 2) Hypo-masculine 'honour'. And yes I do mean hypo not hyper. Getting three men together to kill a woman because she's been smiling at outsiders isn't manly where I ****ing come from. Linking to... 3) ...A lack of respect or opportunities for scholasticism... 4) ...Often arising from a high tolerance for corruption, leading to... 5) ...a breakdown of the social contract with the state I've lived and worked with a number of men from the Mideast, and the two things I always remember is: 1. How generous they are 2. How profoundly unhappy they are, with their expected role in life And I'm not talking about just poor ones, either. EDIT: I'm not even talking about national cultures here. I see the issue with certain conservative groupings across national boundaries. -

*facepalm* Not ANOTHER failure to understand science. Science doesn't perform experiments to prove theories. it does them in order to disprove theories. Oh. hang on. I've been fooled by Oby's new avatar.

The analogy I'd use are high end sports cars. They look like they should move like panthers. But typically the driving force behind them is a middle aged, very cautious, fethmonkey. So they drive like winnebagos. It's utter nonsense to look at a woman's curves without considering for at least ten seconds what she's going to do with them. If it's "Plonk herself on a couch and text gossip all evening, or make ill-informed racist remarks before complaining about the calories in the wine" then she's just crap. Don't get me wrong. I'm as likely to go nuts over a pretty woman as the next man. But I've learned to snap out of it, fast. Moral courage, sense of humour (linked usually to the former), 1940s curves. In that order. Then in rough order: stamina, hobbies, exotic features.- 526 replies

UK Muslims targeted for speaking out about terror

Sorry Monte but you are misinformed. The Middle East is very violent at the moment not because Islam is inherently a violent religion, though some people interpret it like that, but because the region is going through the most profound political and social transformation in its history. This was started by the Arab Spring and it will take time. But its an important transition that took Western countries hundreds of years to get to before they became the stable Democracies they are today Bruce, you and I seem to get on, but you've turned your optimism guage too high. 1) Violence in the Mideast is at massive levels. And states not actively at war are freaking out about the risk of it happening. 2) This didn't begin with the Arab Spring, it didn't even begin with 9/11. 3) Parity with Judaism/Israel is nonsense. The death toll of jifascists every month runs in the hundreds of not thousands. The greatest obstacle to peace in the Mideast is that there are simply far too many people, not enough land for them, and wealth creators get leery about investing in countries where the plebs might decide to expropriate everything. That and the fact that anyone with any kind of personal ambition seems to wind up in places like the UK being terribly charming and or serving me delicious snacks. -

I don't care what you bastards say, Felicia Day is hot. Half the women you chaps post here are probably as exciting in bed as a duvet. High maintenance women aren't just high maintenance outside the bedroom. Smart chicks FTW.- 526 replies

Checked out their directive, found this gem. Protect and defend the true image of Islam, to combat defamation of Islam and encourage dialogue among civilizations and religions. So in other words: bomb first, ask questions later. "Encourage dialogue" If I gave that directive to a subordinate and they built a bomb I'd be ...curious to say the least. -
When this happened to me at your (assumed) age I used to go for an hour or two's run. Burns the booze, gets you exercise and makes you tired AND you barely realise you're doing it! Don't listen to our meatbound Austrian.
