  1. Pwned.
  2. Doom 3 is sincerely scary.
  3. I've never seen an official quote that Halo 3 has a date. M$ said the Halo franchise will be on the 360, but when Halo 2 shipped, Bungie said they wanted to get away from Halo for a while.
  4. Ultima V has a really good story. In case you missed it, there is a top-notch remake that is almost finished. u5lazarus.com
  5. Microsoft has announced the launch titles for the 360. Halo 3 is not among them.
  6. ...and the spiritual successor to Ultima Underworld
  7. That is speculation. Officially Bungie isn't saying anything about Halo 3.
  8. Doom 3 is great for about 5 hours.
  9. I completely agree. People don't scrap their beliefs and personality they've had their whole life instantly. Corruption isn't just a matter of one decision. It is a process, and one hand people are asking for more manipulation. On the other people are complaining about how influence forces you to be deceptive and manipulative. Make up your mind. You want to act like a mindless bully and then wonder why people might have a problem with it? Did Palpy just murder people, have Anakin watch, and expect that to turn Anakin? People don't understand the influence system. That doesn't make it broken.
  10. That's a good theory! I have my own theory which is less likely, but I like it none the less. What if this were akin to 2001. "The Black Rock" and all made me think of the monolith from 2001. The Black Rock is a red herring howeve, while the real monolith is the Hatch. Imagine if the Bermuda Triangle is exactly what people suspect it is, a place where aliens abduct travellers. They test them. They pit them against each other.
  11. I really like the six players we have. We just need to cajole a 7th player.
  12. I'd down for trying to put some basic rules together. If someone can hunt down tha T.O.M.B.S. logo, I'll make some basic rules and a character sheet. I'll then post them on my web server.
  13. Is this insight into your more private life? "
  14. Bethesda makes games other than RPGs for one, which tells me they know how to make more than one sort of game. Secondly, their work on Oblivion shows they are are capable of addressing flaws in previous titles. The merits of a Bethseda made Fallout are many. We'll likely get good mod tools, community suggestions will be implemented, we'll get a well polished game, and there will be plenty of support after the game ships. I'm not saying there aren't flaws, or that I wouldn't have prefered Van Buren. But I'm not writing off Bethesda's FO3.
  15. No, it is a standalone sci-fi series. It only lasted a few episodes but the DVDs have been selling like mad, so much so that they greenlit a movie to make up for cancelling the tv show.
  16. Bethesda developers played FO1 and FO2. They enjoyed them, and were fans of the setting.
  17. It's been on a shelf forever. Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett were supposed to star and they waited for both to be free. Eventually they moved forward with Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weiz.
  18. And I didn't say rule. I used the same term you did, convention. The point of a game is to have fun. Most people wouldn't enter a game intentionally slanted, but you wish to preserve a very slanted opening. That tells me everything I need to know. Remind me not to sign up for a game with you in it again.
  19. Not just yet. This is just a teaser website for the third Arnofsky film. I'm telling you that while no one is hyping or marketing The Fountain, that this looks to be one hell of a movie. The plot is incredible, the cast incredible, and it's coming from the same guy who gave us Pi and Requiem For a Dream.

  21. Says the player who profits largely from 3 players being denied a turn. 2 of these players did not opt to not move. They stepped in to take the shoes of other players. Can you honestly say that in any Diplomacy game you've ever seen where Turkey just decides to completely hold in the first turn? Again, sour grapes aside, I will continue to play. However I am convinced the only player who was opposed to repeating a mere one turn is the same player who would have the most to lose if everyone was on a level playing field. Unanimity is not a convention of Diplomacy. No where in the rules is unanimity ever mentioned. I can argue Diplomacy revolves around majorities. Whatever.
  22. Welcome to the forums, by the way.
  23. You have to be kidding me! The AMD 64 FX series trounces the P4 series for gaming. And the multicore FX line is coming out in a few months which may be a quantum leap in processing power.
