  1. I'm guessing you don't have a modded XBox. Most people don't. The XBox has a cache on it, and if textures, maps, or other areeas loaded incorrectly in the cache, it may be constantly pulling that bad data from the cache. On a modded XBox you can manually clear out the cache. For most XBoxs, the solution is often to reload areas enough that it won't pull from the cache and will eventually pull that data off the disc again. It may be having troubles reading the disc though. That was my problem.
  2. Age of Empires 3 looks pretty damned good actually.
  3. Debating opinions is the point of message boards to an extent.

  5. I'm a stalwart defender of the mighty Ultima series, but party interaction wasn't much of anything until Ultima V.
  6. I don't think I will ever brush it off again, despite RPG Maker XP looking quite promising. I'd rather resurrect Fanout.
  7. Perhaps ask someone directly to rate you.
  8. I have some early data on CD, but most of it was on my HDD. Is the plot too over the top?
  9. There was a PC gaming market when there were far fewer PCs on the market.
  10. My money is on Turkey for the greatest comback, EVA! No, not really. Hopefully Meta won't hold all of this against us too much in OBS-3.
  11. It was largely inspired by Lone Wolf and Cub, and Legend of the Five Rings, with a bit of Ninja Scroll rolled in. A repenetant and angry Samurai named Ito is framed for murder so that a rival clan may steal his position. His wife is murdered, and he vows to seek revenge at any cost. He wanders the land as a Ronin. A Samurai-ko named Rei discovers the treachery and seeks Ito out to assist him in clearing his name. The two develop strong feelings for each other, but never act on them as Ito does not want to betray the spirit of his wife he is trying to avenge. There were two paths in the game, as Ito discovered a foul Oni manipulated the whole event to claim Ito's soul and damn his family line. Ito is pressed to decide whether to finish his quest for vengeance at the cost of his soul, or forsake redeeming his name and vengeance to spite the Oni instead.
  12. I'm really digging the other 3 games of Diplomacy so far!
  13. I don't speak Japanese, but I believe Mei-fu-mad-o (each syllable gets pronounced with equal stress in Japanese) is the dark road to hell and vengeance.
  14. Good point! I need to replay Torment!
  15. The Fall should be coming out in the next 2 months for English speakers.
  16. You can tell Windows to only connect to your preferred Wireless connection.
  17. Fallout just decided to focus on humor more.
  18. I'm not saying FF1 did, since FF1 was four random characters you invented. FFIV was the first I now with very specific pre-created characters who interacted with each other and had a strong narrative.
  19. FFVII innovated with graphics. That is what wowed us and got us to buy it initally. The story was something discovered post-purchase. If you want to talk about party interaction and story, Squaresoft was really doing that from FF IV on. Maybe they did really pioneer that.
  20. When did Fallout come out?
  21. My wife says hi, and she is a big fan of Alanschu, so apparently he doesn't totally suck. Alanschu macks on my wife! Assuming I remember the password to get into the account I just created, you can mail ratings to spellmar@gmail.com if you don't want to post them here publicly.
  22. Ultima VI and VII were the first western RPGs where I felt this party camraderie.
  23. That is why I use those terms!
  24. 5 is currently the max. As far as the second question goes, I'd say it is a mixture of both.
