Either the whole party should be Jedi, or very few. Otherwise the non-Jedi characters will get ignored.

What do you think the twist(s) will be in KOTOR II
EnderAndrew replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Not to mention that in RoTJ, the final battle was to take place over Coruscant, with the slave Wookies leading a revolt. The concept art that was done with fighters dodging inbetween skyscrapers on Coruscant looked incredible. Instead we got Ewoks. -
Bingo.

I recommend just finding an old copy of X-Wing Alliance, and downloading all the upgrades that have been made for the game.

What do you mean this saber needs a water chip to function properly?

Alot of the eats in LA are over-rated and scary. I like to find the all-Mexican neighborhoods though, where the tiny hole-in-wall places don't even have names. It just says "Carcienera" or "Taquiera". Those places serve the BEST Mexican food on the planet.

I've seen a lot of odd fetishes. People get turned on by the strangest of things. Me, I just watch reruns of Charles in Charge. "I want Charles in charge of my days and nights! My wrongs and my rights!"

Remember the 20 min video of KOTOR?

Something just occured to me Tyrell. You want to remain completely spoiler free from the game, but you'll be doing interviews and coverage for the game. If information about new characters, storyline, theme, planets, etc is going to be revealed, it's most likely to be revealed in interviews. -
Why is it that you put your two cents in, but only get a penny for your thoughts? Someone is making a penny along the way. I wonder how romance will be affected by the master/apprentice relationships in the game. I'm guessing Mira will be the female romance figure, however I think there are some interesting undercurrents in a master/apprentice relationship that takes on new levels.

Speaking of birds/bees and Thailand, remember kids that there is no such thing as safe-sex in Thailand.

Then some-guy at the burger-joint starts screaming. He falls down on the counter, and an alien rips out of his stomach.

What do you think the twist(s) will be in KOTOR II
EnderAndrew replied to Tyrell's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Before Star Wars was even Star Wars, the script got completely written a million times over a nine year stretch. The early versions of the script were titled "Journey of the Whills". The Whills were inspired by Dune (as was the whole script) and they had mythical power from the Spice. The idea of the Force evolved from this over the years. I've never seen anything in modern day Star Wars acutally mention these Whills from early scripts though. Also, Lucas got too much credit for fore-sight that he didn't really have. Jabba the Hutt was portrayed by a human actor, and the alien/Hutt concept was a late addition over the years. Han Solo actually died in ANH in several scripts. The Luke/Leia brother/sister concept first appeared in late drafts of Return of the Jedi. Qui-Gon was supposed to appear in Episode 2. Lucas also changed his mind on a Biggs Darklighter plotline, a plotline involving Padme's family, and a plotline involving Bail Organa. Lucas waffles like a Belgian. -
How come there isn't a class for "burger flipping"? It's not role-playing unless I can flip burgers!

We could by like Tycho from Penny Arcade and start making Game Designer Trading Cards.

Who would you most like to meet in real life

I'm not supposed to follow anymore. Something about a restraining order. -
African, or European swallows?

Well, I've got someone to root against in the Finals.

Those in power rarely like to give up power. If you have a virtual theocracy, and a sexist one at that, the concepts of freedom and democracy sure would come across as a threat to your power base.

People do notice programmer's efforts. They just don't realize who is responsible. When a nice new feature is cleverly implemented, load times are reduced, DirectX9 implementation is introduced, new hardware is supported, etc. All these things are features people look for. Did anyone here ever play the old Commander Keen games? One of the games, I think it was Keen IV, had the main menu of the game on Keen's pocket-watch, with a built-in-pong game. I bet you money that the pong mini-game was a programmer's doing, and not the developers.

I think we do need to look at the cause of some of these problems. But listen to GWB's speeches. He says that so long as this country is the bastion of freedom and democracy, we'll always be a target. Sounds a little extreme perhaps. Maybe's he's discounting the fact that people are uneasy with a US military base in the same country as Mecca. Maybe he's forgetting that people don't care for our alliance with Isreal. These things tick people off. However, maybe there is some truth to what Bush is saying. Many Muslim fundamentalists believe that women are inferior, and that democracy is a bad thing. I think in a war of idealogy, tanks and bombs shouldn't be used. Be an example of why your idealogy is better, and people may clammor for it. France revolted and demanded Democracy because they wanted it. One could contend that extreme fundamentalists in Islam will always see the US as "the devil" because of the values we preach. The US is quite a target, and would likely attract attention and terrorist attacks even if we didn't back Isreal, or have a base in Saudi. So, what can you do about that? On the same hand, maybe it's not our place to force democracy on a populace. However, Aghanistan sure took to it like a fish to water. Women are serving in official capacities for the first time in that country's history. I would assume that all humans would prefer freedom and democracy to a dictatorship, but that remains an assumption on my part. What are the root causes for the problems with terrorism in the US? How can they be resolved? And should we turn our backs on Isreal? I don't know how many people here put stock in the Bible, and that's another can of worms, but follow me for a second. I'm no crazy fundamentalist Christian, but the Bible does in fact say that one of the last signs of the end is when every country of the world turns on God's land and people. Most people interpret that to mean Isreal. Several Arab nations have tried to unite against Isreal. Many other nations of the world have at best apathy for Isreal. Saddam and Osama both preached uniting against Isreal. If the US didn't back Isreal, I'd have to wonder what would stop the Middle East from rising up and trying to destroy Isreal. I have to say, that makes me a little uneasy. The Christian Coalition has their hand in the Republican Party, and GWB is a card-carrying member. Surely such a notion has been presented to him before. I wonder if Biblical prophecy doesn't play a small role in foreign policy.

If you can out-frag, or out-anything everyone else in the world, then you've got bragging rights. That does not however, make you a professional athlete. They have competitive Scrabble, and people are calling that a sport. When will it ever end?

Akari said this feature was on his "To-Do" list. I do believe he was looking for feedback as to whether it should go to the Load Screen, or right to the last save. I vote for the Last Save.

Armor Restriction/Force Powers
EnderAndrew replied to anari_quun's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Using magic and D&D as an example, armor restricts movement. The Force should be mental, and movement shouldn't really play a key, or should it? When Yoda lifts the ship out of the swamp, he moves his hands. There are hand gestures every time TK is used in the Dooku/Yoda battle, and when Luke reaches for his lightsaber on Hoth. Hand gestures are even used when Affect Mind is being used. I always took it that the hand-gestures conveyed to the audience something was going on. In Star Wars RPG's I've run, I've never told a player they were cut off from the Force if they couldn't wiggle their fingers. However, certain ritualistic elements make the user more comfortable in the belief they can bend reality. Waving your fingers is a crutch that Force Users may rely upon in order to mentally flip the switch. In that logic, armor could somehow restrict movement, making such gestures cumbersome.
