  1. You also upset players before they ever play the game.
  2. Spector has a killer resume. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
  3. What he sounds like, and how he was written are two different things. I didn't mind the voice actor.
  4. For films in pre-production, IMDB often lists their best guesses. They are often wrong on pre-production info, and the news on Alan Cumming is so new, IMDB probably hasn't seen it yet. They have all kinds of movies with release dates that may never get made that are currently in pre-production.
  5. Ghost is what I use, but I've heard TrueImage is also quite good. It makes an exact copy of your partition. Then you can reghost a drive, and it's just like your old one.
  6. We're talking about Lucas. Most people only film X number of episodes at once because they need funding. A pilot gets funded, and then so many episodes, etc. Lucas will do this on his own dime. He films whatever episodes he so desires, and doesn't need approval to do as such, and then he will syndicate his show. Will a network air all the episodes he films? That's another story.
  7. I doubt publishers ever really want to wade through feedback. These forums seemed to be a place for feedback for the developers, and even now the developers seem to be chatting with us, but now they are on the Bioware boards. I wasn't too happy about that move, and before New Jersey started, there didn't seem to be a need for these boards anymore.
  8. Junction Point Studios http://rpgdot.com/#39526
  9. I'm not picking on RE4. I've heard nothing but great things about RE4.
  10. I thought Interplay was sold off bit by bit. Does it exist on paper anymore?
  11. The ending is not the ending that was intended. MCA did intend a cliffhanger ending, but it is blatantly obvious that content is misisng from the ending. Put blame where blame is actually due.
  12. Is anyone here an X-Files fan? Anyone remember the episode Memoirs of a Smoking Man? That is a fine example of a normal guy falling to the Dark Side.
  13. Akari has never lied to us, nor has any reason to do so. When KOTOR:2 shipped, Akari said that to his knowledge no one was working on KOTOR:3. Obsidian expressed interest in developing KOTOR:3. LucasArts did officially cancel their KOTOR:3 preproduction. I highly doubt LucasArts has anyone working on it currently. It may happen someday, but I really don't think it's happening now.
  14. No, I want Redneck Rampage 2: A Hunka Hunka Burnin' Fun, and then Redneck Rampage 3: Mullets and Moonshine!
  15. Not always. A FPS doesn't need heavily scripted events. Good radiant AI, good physics and some high res textures. Most FPS games don't have 50 million models.
  16. Now go to an organic store and see how food is there. It's even more. Most veggies we eat weren't allowed to ripen before harvest, and lack their proper nutritional value. Our foods are full of artificial hormones, pesticides, and lack real nutritional value to begin with. Our meat products are full of growth hormones as well. That's why we are seeing an abundance of 9 year old girls getting their period now.
  17. The poster just signified the game was in development. We know that. I was really shocked that Dragon Age wasn't shown at all.
  18. In linear levels such as Malachor 5 or Peragus you can do that.
  19. I wouldnt dispute that from a purely subjective view. However you cant measure fun and people have different ideas of what fun is. I wouldnt be wrong If I said you found JEs combat fun would I ? I on the other hand found it simplistic dull and repetative. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's why I originally said a game fails if the majority of its players didn't find it fun. If people disagree, that's fine. Fun is subjective. But when the majority of your audience doesn't receive your game properly, then it failed. Jade Empire's combat is incredible simple. Yet sadly, it is far more interesting than spamming the same button in game like KOTOR. I like turn based combat when it's challenging, and requires strategy. Jade Empire keeps me awake when playing it, while combat is a larger bore in KOTOR. I would prefer a much more complex system that required more strategy, but I doubt we'll see it anytime soon. People don't want too many twitch elements in RPGs, but that doesn't mean combat should be easy. I enjoyed titles like Fallout that allowed you to use cover, use action points and movement to your advantge, etc.
  20. I shouldn't read such things at work.
  21. That may be the case. The 360 will no doubt be the easiest to develop for with the XNA. However, no one really knows how much more difficult it will be to develop for the PS3 at this point. Given the demos we saw, I don't think it will be horribly difficult.
  22. That's really simple. The purpose of a game is either to compete, or to have fun. Why else do we play games? If the game fails in its purpose, the game fails.
  23. She doesn't like to take hard-line stances. She likes to manipulate people for the sake of manipulating them.
  24. That tactic has worked wonders for me for years.
