Mileage may vary In the end, they all fail - or not. I've had the infamous IBM DTLA, which survived at least until I changed my PC, three Samsungs and a WD, all of them working until I upgraded, which took 3 / 5 years respectively...

There are already remixes of it around

Senteced - The Suicider That was a deadly funny, good band.

So I installed Steam because I wanted to play Portal. I've waited long enough, I thought, and now I regret it. I friggin hate that Steam'in pile of... DRM! Anyway, it may have been worth it, as Portal was short, but biig fun. HL Cinematic screens to come some days / weeks / years later...

Maybe you're immune to their compression artifacts? Using IrfanView with JPG-Quality set to 81% gets me around 200 KB for 1920*1080 without too noticable losses.(81% instead of 80 because I'm used to slightly higher values since compressing music with ogg vorbis where this made a difference, a long time ago )

Good bye, Mr. McG(nome)! Sad to see you go. Hopefully the NWN2 guys haven't left any permanent scars

GD: Do you have some links on examples? I'm too lazy a guy to google and this would interest me. That seems to be the very point the OP wants to make - not funny, but terrible political cartoons. Although some of them are actually funny imo if you think what idiots the people drawing them or the people they are aimed at must be

Another one bites the dust. And I wouldn't care if I hadn't stumbled across some jokes that made me laugh, so thanks for dying Mr. Jackson!

Over the past few months, my new system has slowly been coming together, starting with the screen mentioned above and a WLAN router / stick. It now consists of: Antec P182 BeQuiet P7 550W Gigabyte ma790fxt ud5p Phenom II X4 955 4GB of 1333MHz DDR3 8-8-8-24 2T @1.5V Samsung HE322HJ 320GB single platter WD 1TB Green ATi HD 4770 LG DVDBurner/HDDVD/Bluray player case - got it just in time before the P183 was released Was partly a pain to install, otoh it looks better than the 183. I'm surprised how well the HD de-coupling works. I don't hear anything from them PSU - currently too powerful, but who knows what the future holds. Until then it's ok because efficiency @low load isn't bad at all. mobo - I wanted the MSI GD70 but it was inexistent in Switzerland for months, so I got that one. No problems so far. CPU - got it real cheap and it works like a charm currently undervolting, 3.2GHz@1.25V (VID: 1.35) and 800MHz@0.925V have been running Prime for three hours, going to test further RAM - currently running @ 1333 7-7-7-20 1T @1.6V. Mobo doesn't want to supply less than 1.6V, so I overclocked the RAM... HD1 - for programs. Read horror stories about those failing, but can't read out SMART-values due to AHCI - great HD2 - for storage. GPU - yeah, out of proportion But: 1. another cheap buy. Seem to be one of the few persons who got hold of it? 2. it's just a replacement as something that uses little power when gaming and can handle a my games until Win7, DX11 comes out by the end of the year. For backup purposes, should the upcoming performance card die. Reacts nicely to lowering RAM speed when not gaming DVD/BD - having an HD screen and an HDCP gfx-card, why not invest something extra that would allow me to watch a BD if I wanted? As I currently don't have any time for games, I'm underclocking and undervolting graphics card and CPU, but both offer a lot of headroom into the other direction should power be needed Also, this was the first system that really started up at the very first try, even though I did some experiments (for my standards) by first creating a custom WinXP-CD with SP3 and Sata-drivers slipstreamed, flashing the bios from a bootable USB-stick before installing anything, then setting HDs to AHCI-mode... Everything fine so far.

Bugger and ****e. And feck Anyway, right now, I actually stopped caring, by telling myself: Listen, mate, you don't buy games you don't like anyway, and games you could like but have an ugly DRM - those are better to get elswhere. And this principle doesn't change by X buying Y. My company loyalty is tending to 0. The one thing I'm concerned about is that the bright programmer's mind probably gets lost in such a big company and cannot really innovate or optimise anything anymore because of too many cooks spoiling his excellent broth. [edit] Haha, rhyme on "tyte" is actually getting censored.

Here I was wondering for almost a whole second who Joshua is Thanks for the interview! Why didn't he react on the "BG built by BIS" part of one question? [edit] There were other, more interesting ones to focus on obviously. Good read! [edit2] To the OP: Why we're wondering for a moment who Joshua is: He's usually just known as JE or Josh Sawyer here.

some stuff's awesome - and in places getting way too original to be bad. I mean, mages preparing spells via correspondence, a narcoleptic lich...

Well, that's part of being a hobbit, isn't it.

So they better be good or we know who to blame Great news, as long as the electrical energy it takes to produce the hydrogen could not be used to load batteries more efficiently instead, see above.

Haha, they're fun Ever tried any of the other "deep" things, like deep house for example? Not quite as fun but pretty good too, imo. Pope's shpongle stuff is also good! Thanks for posting that, guys! Expanding my realm of trippy music... (but the younger brother-link sounds more like a copy-paste-work of stuff from JM Jarre, Mogwai with added effects and singer)

Ok, then I'll contribute with: A tribe of travelling people that pretend to get their money as knifegrinders (men) and fortune tellers (women). In reality however they send their kids out as theives and/or beggars. They have dark curly hair, moustaches and golden earrings (men) or long dark wavy hair and colourful clothes and golden earrings (women). Men use their big brown eyes to look like puppies if needed be, women to seem seductive, but both have bad teeth. They are regarded with mistrust, but use that notion to play on sympathy by people who think themselves more progressive. They are called the..., uhm, ... Gorranpeese, because they have a guttural language. A tribe of travelling people, fearsome warriors of the north, also curly haired, but bearded (in case of men) or buxom (women). They only wear leather, and have their lower arms and legs free, despite the freezing cold of their surroundings, Frezzebok or 'the Coldlands' as it is called by the commoner. They are strong, and strong drinkers. They are organised in tribes and thought to be close to nature despite wearing axes all the time and loving to hunt in jeering droves. They don't actually have children, only male youths who have to kill a mamut on their own to become a man. They are called Utukk, because they talk like that.

Was there a possibility to freeze the level? I wouldn't want to become "grandfather assassin" when there's killer stuff like "killer" for example.

That's the point, isn't it? This is exactly what makes bland fantasy settings so damn bland: It's been done already, so boring, always the same, as mentioned, scottish accent dwarves, slumbering ancient evil. Whatever we would do differently would make the setting more appealing, so our very quest is impossible.

Some new info about the World of Darkness MMORPG
samm replied to TheHarlequin's topic in Computer and Console
Hehe, you'd be surprised If the game will be called WOD, let's hope it delivers, otherwise the blow to the franchise might be bigger than if it was called WOD Online. -
Zelda: Phantom hourglass It's been some time since a game was so enjoyable The one gripe so far has been the , and maybe the whole "talk to your DS"-thing, but it can be avoided by blowing into the mic.
