Probably because the one big complaint about the modules is the very fact people can't be bothered to buy a product they have to be on the net to use. Sure BioWare doesn't have to do anything they don't want, but they're in the business of listening to the majority of their fans (ie. people who keep them in business).

I guess what I meant was whether BioWare was planning on doing all three games in a row, or if they'd release ME then work on JE2 and another game, then maybe 5 or 6 years later release ME2, then have a gap where they work on other titles, then release ME3. Perhaps one team is working on all three installments so that team will be occupied for the next 5 or 6 years.

I don't know the specifics since I've never played the downloadable modules, but apparently you need to be connected to the net each time you load up a game.

Back on topic about Mass Effect, I noticed it says it'll be the first in a trilogy. Does that mean Bio's going to be working on those three games for the next few years? Or will Obsidian scoop up ME2?

They're selling Kingmaker in stores now. It comes with a disk and you don't have to be connected to the internet to play it. You just need NWN, SotU and HoU. They also have modules that can be downloaded straight from the net, but those need net access to play.

Have you watched the trailer? The graphics look impressive. Although the "ancient evil" smacks of the Star Forge again. Or atleast that's what came to mind when I saw it.

I'm a little bit worried that I'm more excited about this game than Volourn is.

One thing I'm curious about since I don't think it was mentioned in the write up, is there magic in this setting? Or will we finally see another RPG without magic being front and centre?

I voted for option 1 (great story), but in truth my vote would be a combination of Option 1 for 4/5ths of the game, then Option 4 for the ending (from about the Ravager on).

If it's a RPG ala JE I'll look forward to it. If it's too much FPS and too little RPG then I might pass (*might* being the key word depending on what other games are available when it's released).

Do the people writing these articles not have a clue what they're talking about?

I'm assuming this is a RPG? Squad of freedom fighters almost made it sound like a FPS or Squad based tactical game. It does sound intriguing, although I'm assuming it'll still be another 3 or 4 years away.

Just bought it. I'll see how good (or bad it is) in about half an hour.
