No truce will ever happen. These are fanatics. Even if "Bin Laden" agrees to a truce (which he will not long term), there will come along a new fanatic leader who will just pick up the fight. A truce can never occur while there are still extremists and fanatics in the world.

At first, that's sort of what I thought. When I saw the first screenshots I thought it had something to do with NWN.

It looks like one of those "I'll wait to see some user reviews first" type games. I'm keeping watch, but won't be buying until/unless it gets possitive reviews.

I'm really hoping this game lives up to the hype. I wasn't too fond of the previous forrays into the RTS Star Wars universe.

Same here. Plus you can see the people sneaking up behind or on the sides of you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That, plus I just like seeing my "avatar" on screen rather than just his/her arm when I point a weapon.

I preferred 3rd person view so the firearms were harder to manage for me.

They are trying to bring the ruleset closer to the PnP version of not literally then at least the spirit of the rules. The whole bioware familar mess is not only against the rules but also the spirit as well. I for one am glad they are trying to bring the gameplay, rules back to its roots. My 2 coppers <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah. See I don't really know much about the variations in rulesets so I have no clue which version (NWN1 or NWN2) is closer to the pnp version.

The only real way it would affect alignment, since in my scenary it's such tiny incremental shifts, is when you go for LS Mastery. You'd have to weigh the use of DS powers with the fact that even a small shift meant losing Mastery (although you'd still be Uber LS).

That's why I said incremental shifts. As in, it would basically take forever and you'd have to kill EVERYONE with Force choke for it to actually move you along to the DS.

Not necessarily, atleast not any more than LS or DS "choices" move your alignment one way or the other. For instance, if you use Force Choke one time, then your alignment shifts ever so slightly. That way you don't suddenly become a DS by using it one time, but you do, eventually fall to the DS after repeated use.

From the article linked it sounds like the time period is between the old Tales of the Jedi comic series and KOTOR video game series, bridging the gap between the two. But that could steal mean some of the KOTOR characters appear, since all of them would be alive pre-KOTOR.
