  1. You're having difficulty even on the easiest difficulty settings? I've found that just rolling around and occupying her attacks while my companion takes shots at her works best, then getting in the odd shot or two after she's already unleashed her special attack. It also shouldn't be too difficult to anticipate when she's about to attack. When she does that fire thing, you can see it forming before it actually does damage to you. So just roll out of the way when you see it.
  2. Maybe it's just my imagination, or I'm not remembering the first two games clearly enough, but it seems like Brotherhood has way more timed missions, or missions where you have to avoid detection. I find them annoying, especially when they incorporate BOTH time and no detection in missions. I don't recall getting frustrated with this in the original Assassin's Creed or Assassin's Creed 2, but in Brotherhood I find myself annoyed at every second mission.
  3. The story in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood seems ... lacking. Unlike the first two games, this one seems to just mish-mash a bunch of missions together with a vague theme in common. It's fun, regardless, but the story itself isn't as tight as the previous two installments.
  4. Any companions/henchmen/sidekicks in the demo?
  5. I've been sidetracked in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, busy doing the assassin recruit quests. I've got a stable full of fully trained assassins at my disposal now. Now on to the main story again ...
  6. Why is it all in Japanese?
  7. That's the one thing I hope DS4 does NOT do.
  8. This is released on my birthday, so I might just have to treat myself to an RPG as a present.
  9. That last mission for the Riddler sidequest was easy. I suppose the difficult part was leading up to it, including collecting enough trophies/challenges in order to unlock it. I've now finished all sidequests other than the AR challenges, which I doubt I'll ever even attempt. I simply suck at the gliding. I had a difficult time with the Ra's Al Ghul main story mission because of it. I'll probably attempt some of the combat challenges now, then take a break and play something else, before coming back to it to finish New Game+ and unlock that achievement.
  10. I've got about 30 Riddler trophies to collect before I can finally unlock the final Riddler mission. Then I'll have all the sidequests completed (other than the stupid AR gliding challenges).
  11. That's part of the problem. I can't seem to avoid it. Even when I cause a distraction, after I've jumped down and beaten on Two Face, he's not dead yet. And next thing I know, his guys turn into snipers that can't miss me from across the room. There just doesn't seem to be enough time. I beat this part on the easiest level the first time through because, if I recall, it basically took one time putting Two-Face down to finish him off. But on normal and above, you have to do it more than once. And that's where my issue arises. The gunmen all seem to return to his side and riddle me with bullets before I have a chance to put him down a second time and finish him off.
  12. Get all suit upgrades. Her suit is upgraded all the way for ballistics, which should be the only thing that affects me when they're shooting at me. And still she can't seem to take more than a couple of shots before she's in the red.
  13. Catwoman absolutely sucks to use. It takes like one hit (exaggerating, but only slightly) for her to die. So on the final Catwoman mission, I can't last long at all because Two-Face's thugs all have guns. And I'm only playing on Normal!
  14. Depends how thorough you are. It didn't take me too long, as I recall, but I also didn't finish all the little side missions and whatnot. It's a LOT shorter than GTA, for instance, if that's what you're expecting.
  15. I noticed that, too. It almost seems like the game is set up to do the main story first, then after that's done do the side missions. The only problem is they're a huge source of experience points, and without doing/completing them your character might not be a high enough level to do well against the boss fights in the main story. On a side note: I'm kicking myself for buying the Robin bundle. I thought he'd have a quest or two in the main game, like Catwoman does. Instead, it seems the only time you can use him is in those challenge maps that's outside the main game.
  16. Eh, I've just finished off a couple of games which fall into the "action" category in RE5 and Assassin's Creed, and both had main stories that seemed much longer than Arkham City's. I wasn't expecting a 50 hour epic, but it seemed like there were 4 or 5 quick things to do in the main story, then it's done. One night is 12 hours long (dusk til dawn). The stuff I did in the main story seemed to take about 2 or 3 hours, tops.
  17. The main storyline quest in Arkham City seemed incredibly short ... it seems the sidequests/challenges are what makes up the bulk of the things to do in this game.
  18. I'm not bothered by weapons and armor. My main concern would be missing out on any NPC party members or sidequests that are only available in the CE. If that's not the case, then I won't buy the CE.
  19. I'm not sure if I want to spring for the Collector's Edition or not. I'm guessing any sort of "bonus" content in the CE will eventually be made available for the regular folk, via DLC, right?
  20. I'm still plugging along with Arkham City. It's weird, I have more trouble with the leaping/gadgets puzzles than I do taking on the bosses in fights. I've beaten pretty much every boss without much effort, yet it took me forever to figure out the one area where I needed to throw a remote baterang through an electric converter, then swing it around and smash it into a power box to open a gate. That, and that stupid section of gliding/diving for Ra's Al Ghul gave me the most trouble.
  21. That sucks. That was probably my biggest (only?) major complaint about DS3. At the beginning you learn a bit when first meeting them, but then they just sort of become silent muscle for hire afterward. You don't really learn all that much more about them as you travel with them. And the lack of NPC-specific sidequests just added to the disappointment when it comes to your companions.
  22. Finally playing Batman: Arkham City. I'm still getting used to the map and the controls. In every fight, I basically just pound on the Y button to counter attacks, with the occasional X thrown in when it's the last opponent standing. I have to learn things on the fly, though. I don't know if I just got ripped off, or if this is the case for everyone, but there was no actual instructions manual in the box. Anything I've learned, it's been through the in-game tutorials.
  23. I finally got around to playing, and beating, Resident Evil 5. Overall it was fun, but I couldn't believe how hard (for me) the boss fights were. And I played on amateur! I can't even imagine having any chance whatsoever of beating these bosses on the highest difficulty settings.
  24. I finally gave Assassin's Creed a chance. The game has been sitting on my shelf since I bought it in 2007 (or whenever it was released). I originally gave up on it after playing for about 30 minutes initially. I enjoyed it. I'm on to Assassin's Creed 2 now.
  25. I've been a bad Obsidian customer. I still haven't bought the DLC. Just too many games in my queue right now.
