Have you played the game? The influence system is broken... horribly. You can't influence them to the dark side, nor can you change anything about them except their appearance on the character sheet screen and the picture of them in the HUD. If you turn light to the dark, the character still whines when you do evil things. So it still means next to nothing except being a "goody goody or a bully". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, I influenced one of my party members to go Dark. And when I killed random innocent NPC's, he didn't whine, he agreed with what we had done. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> sure thing I brought my entire party to the final battle as well, and we all sat around the force fire roasting darkside marshmellows and drinking lightside mountain dew.

I guess you haven't played Ninja Gaiden then. That's the best game E.V.E.R. But that aside, the new features do not reinvent the game... 2 weapon slots, item creation/breakdown and a lvl 50 exp cap do not make it a new game. The menu system seems identical to KOTOR, not sure what you're seeing that makes it "easier". Prestige classes are the closest thing to making it a "new" game, along with the superior dialog tree options, but those alone do not change the fact they stayed with a proven formula.

Ok, so their point was to have a character that could destroy worlds with no effort, and not tell you a thing about him except he was spawned from the carnage of Malachor V (and he can destroy WORLDS)? Wait, we could go from a different angle... His face is plastered on every KOTOR2 advertisement I've seen so far, he's on the box as well. So, one would assume that he would be central to the plot, or he would at least play a semi-large role in the game. Instead, we see a few scenes with him owning Visas and Traya, then getting jacked in a few hits from our exile. WOAH... It's called living up to the hype. Maybe Obsidian just wanted to bank on the "wow" factor of what he looked like? Maybe they were sitting there in a meeting, thinking of ways to pooch screw the gamer with plot holes and they were like: "Hey, I got a good one, lets create a badguy, make him look REALLY cool, slap his face on every KOTOR2 ad, and then give him 4 minutes of game time! Afterall, we need to convey a message that even though we make him appear vital to the story, he's not really important." You know, I can't really recall many games that feature an unimportant character on the box art and advertisments around the world. So no, you didn't make your point clearer, because to me, there is nothing to make clear. They made people think Nihilus was the second coming and then totally dropped the ball. I guess that's why few people are whining about Sion, cause he wasn't all over the place during developement, so the fact we know as much about him as we do about Nihilus doesn't seem to bother anyone. I'm not attacking you or your points, just the idea that it's a good thing that a lot of peoeple get a cheated feeling when finishing this game. I hate judging a company based on one product, especially a company that has a past as bright as these guys, with Fallout, IWD and Torment... But this game left a bad taste in my mouth in terms of polish & completion.

It's hardly major, considering it happens in the very early stages of the game and still leaves you with no answers. A spoiler yes... but a major one?? No. Some people act like it's the end of the world over little things. It's not like he spoiled the game by telling you Kreia is your mother...

What are the characters classes?

I'm sorry... I was in a hurry so that I forgot to tell you I wanted to know the NPC's classes... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh snap... Google it or something, that's too much to remember. -
Where's the switch to release the proton...
Epiphany replied to nfactor's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Right... and where is the terminal? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You know this could be REALLY fun... The computer terminal is next to the machine you get the proton core from! (w00t) -
Inconsequential to the story? Speak for yourself. Had Lucas given us more character interaction with Maul, it would have greatly improved episode 1 for a lot of people. Had Obsidian given us more character interaction, story, or plain information about Nihilus it would have greatly improved the gaming experience for many people. Just because YOU think these characters are unimportant to the story as told, doesn't mean the inclusion of them wouldn't have made a difference. Had Darth Vader never been revealed as Luke's father, it would have been inconsequential to the story, because... take a guess where I'm going with this... WE WOULD NEVER HAVE KNOWN ABOUT IT, SO NOBODY WOULD HAVE CARED. But, it was revealed, it was cool that Vader was his father, rather than just his fathers killer, but it wouldn't have meant squat if we continued watching episode 6 thinking he was just his fathers killer. So please, don't attempt to sit there and tell people that the omission of information about Nihilus, Maul, or any character for that reason doesn't effect the story or enjoyment of the game.

On the computer terminal. -
I go Dantooine for the first planet. So I always use lvl 2 force lightning with the force focus style (adds to regen rate & force power damage). Use a shield that protects against energy to start the battle, then run away before he hits you. Then, just turn and launch your lightning. Once you go through the next sequence of dialog, just rinse and repeat. Run around the room, behind the trees/desk, just play tag with him. But, at your level, I'd cake walk him with force storm since it damages force points as well, so he shouldn't be healing as easily.

How do you beat Darth Sion?

dark side force crush game over -
That's odd... Each time I've played the ending, if you destroy the 3 sabers, Traya falls instantly.

If you don't want to train him and be nice, then you won't be training him. It was a serious oversight that when you influence characters to the opposite starting alignment that they still act the same.

KOTOR 1 dark side ending was incredible... Short, but satisfying enough to not make you want to smash your neighbors head in with a brick. Never saw the LS one though so I can't comment on that, cause I can't play good guy jedi's for some reason, there just isn't any fun to it.

Negative on HK-50, HK was on the Harbinger, and you just happen to take passage on the ship. He comments in your final dialog with him on Peragus, that it was just chance that you boarded passage on the ship. Keira had the Ebon Hawk, when she rescued you from the Harbinger, but it's never explained HOW she got the ship in the first place.

I was DS, but I think this would work for anyone. All I did was once she summons the three sabres, I just ran away from her. The sabres follow you every time, but she won't. If you kill the sabres, she dies as well. I queued two master power attacks and a life support, 2 master power attacks and a life support... etc They fell without a WHOLE lot of trouble. I had a lvl 17 sentinel/lvl 13 sith lord. Was the hardest fight in the game since I couldn't use force crush on them

Will Obsidian provide new discs?
Epiphany replied to mrtauntaun's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Just a response to the guy that said "no way to patch it"... That's what XBOX Live is for... I don't have the box infront of me, but I hope it's Live aware enough to have DL content... -
To EnderWiggin as well: Fear not, he uses massive amounts of lightning in episode 3... If you want more, feel free to PM me, as I don't want to ruin the specifics for those that don't know the info.

Is there any way to influence HK without DS points
Epiphany replied to GSpotFrenzy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
How else could you can influence with something that knows nothing except death and destruction of organic life? I would think most "good" jedi would want nothing to do with HK-47...
