  1. I already did this thru the "Survey" thing in the backer portal, tho it isn't showing up. Do I have the option of choosing something different than the choice I made on the page, since I'm asking a human being anyway? If not, then my survey choice is fine. If so, please could I be "Best Kept Secret of the Obsidian Order"? Many thanks, and I'm glad to be a part of such an illustrious crew
  2. I've read the first two pages of this thread and have some questions. What I seem to be taking away from this is: - That Dex is not particularly useful, especially for those wearing heavy armour. Is such the case? When it says it increases attack speed 3%, it suggests a 3% DPS increase on account of attacking faster. (eg. 3 second attack @ 0 Dex = 4 attacks in 12 seconds vs. 2 second attack at 11 Dex (33%) = 6 attacks in 12 seconds). - That the benefits of Perception or Resolve are not as useful as those gained from other stats/ - That constitution is mostly beneficial for high base HP classes since it increases by %, not integer. - That might is the go-to stat for DPS/Healing - And that all stats will present unique dialogue options over the course of the game. What kind of stats should I consider for a Druid PC? I would like to mix it up with shapeshift melee and some CC/Heals/AoE spells.
  3. I got the Digital Game Guide as an increase to my pledge in the backer portal, but while my game activation key is available, the guide is not. Is it a digital version of the Prima guide? I quite like guides when it comes to games with considerable depth and complexity. I remember having my NWN 1&2 manuals printed out on paper for quick reference (spell guides and progression tables, BAB progression, etc). The most useful things to have quick reference to in PoE, I imagine, is talent/ability lists, spell lists and class/spell progression tables. I'm a fan of good Bestiary type in-game resources too, when well implemented. A good bestiary should give at a glance info on strengths/weaknesses in addition to any (optional) blurb.
  4. Is experience split among party members, or does everyone receive a fixed amount for a given encounter/quest? In other words, would a player attempting to solo/duo the game (is it doable?) hit the level cap much faster than a full team? Further, after reading a post that suggested that a great deal of the game's content was actually optional/side questing, will the average player hit lvl 12 before the endgame? How much side-content is necessary to play (on the basis that the amount of XP in the game is finite) to hit the cap? I know Obsidian have *at least* one expansion planned so it's entirely possible that it will increase the cap and offer more adventures for a PC/party that has finished the main game.
  5. I understand the sentiment, but hope that Obsidian and the generous backers between them put these memorials and content in in such a way as to blend in with the world. Without all of the backers, particularly the most generous of us, this game wouldn't exist. If the cost to us is these things in game then it's one I pay gladly and would again. I trust the team at Obsidian to have made an epic, consistent RPG world without any compromise to storytelling or world-building despite the obvious real-world influences.
  6. To expand on the question about the priests, could a chanter or druid be built specifically to be a healer and be as effective? Or do priests have other secondary abilities that make them better at the role?
  7. What stats would be useful for a hybrid Druid? I love shapeshifting as a mechanic so am leaning towards a werewolf caster who can mix it up in melee and throw some lightning/heals about.
  8. I think I'm going to go with Hard difficulty. From the sounds of it it provides a decent challenge with interesting encounters and enemies that aren't gimped, whereas PotD is for the more masachistic players. I don't min/max obsessively but do power-game to an extent. Saying that, I'm looking forward to a role-playing experience more than anything. I haven't seen any gameplay videos at all, only of character creation but am experienced in RPGs. Bring on the challenge. )
