  1. Yet Islamic organisations who target military targets (e.g. pre-911 Al Queda-->USS Cole), were/are still considered terrorists. Alternatively, many who target foreign military targets in their own country are labelled as "insurgents" (e.g. Iraq). Note - in both cases, the converse isn't necessarily true. That is, all terrorists don't always target military organizations, and all insurgents don't always derive from said country.
  2. Err, we decided to wait until we heard back from Kaftan who should be done settling in at Uni - yes, that's it!
  3. Patience young grasshopper - we're almost done. "
  4. Wait - so no one's officially confirmed Bokisihi is now in the game? Now you've lost me... deadline extension anyone? EDIT: I'm not sure we need to change to a longer schedule (unless that's what most of us want), but I'm merely suggesting we extend THIS particular deadline.
  5. [ Hades : TOMBS +10 ]
  6. I believe the numbers he was quoting to directly proportional to a threat posed on our very existance. In other words 20 human deaths pales to say, 20 Bengal Tiger deaths.
  7. How so? I personally take between 40-45 hours for JE, KotoR & KotoR II and while I take my time, I usually don't do EVERYTHING or scour every nook & cranny. I imagine someone who does can easier squeeze 50+ hours. I believe Ghostie usually hits the 60 hr mark for the kotors.
  8. Good idea. For if you closed the dam BEFORE launching/completing the 'Ghost Children' sidequest, you've missed one of the most poignant moments in RPG history. Even the Three Stooges will agree with me here (Hades, Vol & Grom).
  9. Well, not really. I played it on my cousin's Xbox, and we basically played it together. He's a very straightforward guy, I guess, and doesn't exactly stop to smell the flowers along the way. We followed the main story (and some side quests, but probably not all) together and when it was all over the save file said some number between 13-15 hours. I don't remember the exact amount. But it was kind of perfect for my cousin (then he could get back to FIFA) while I felt it a bit on the short side. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I see. Well, the thing with many of JE's sidequests, is that upon completion they tend to yield futher side quests. So I guess failing to partake in quite a few may be what's responsible for your relative lack of play-time.
  10. Which KotOR? 1 or 2? Whilst KotOR was relatively fantastic, it was still your classic space opera Star Wars story. As for K2 - well, that's incomplete. Neither of these 3 can compare with something like PS:T for "depth", but If you ask me, I prefer JE's story to your classic space opera or an incomplete story any day.
  11. Hmm - 13 to 15 hours. I suspect you rushed it. If you had completed the majority of the sub-quests in Tien's Landing, but more importantly Imperial City (Chapter 3 I believe), the game should have taken you between 40-60 hours. 'Tis a shame really, because story wise/roleplaying wise w/consequences of action + RP opportunites, Chapter 3 was one of the finest moments in recent cRPG history. The arena itself absolutely destroyed any other RPG arena in shear depth.
  12. Ignore this fool (even though I like this fool), as he's spewing anti-fanboi crap which arguably is even worse that fanboi crap (which incidently doens't exist in this thread). Normally I would flame some punk who rants like this but mkreku happens to be the third craziest and totally sweet & awesome Swede on the planet (after Kaftan Barlast & Freddy Ljungberg of course!). --- Don't knock the Marvelous Dragonfly! It happens to be the BEST MINIGAME EVAR!11! I WIN. YOU LOSE. GAME OVER. [/Volourn].
  13. Interesting choice - but that leaves you Austria! You've got 2 builds.
  14. Ha - Not to mention we would have been told the real story Chris & Co. were trying to tell with K2. Note to would be developers: Take your sweet time when developing, and if necessary slap you publisher in the face with catfish if they try and rush you! But don't pull a Van Buren...that would be bad.
  15. While what you say is true - let's face reality Nurbs: A few lighting effect here and some shading there is hardly going to make a significant difference ("box obsolete abilities" or no), because they were simply recycling the same old engine. Therefore it would be more accurate to say that Avellone & Crew were limited by their engine, or lack of as the case may be - as such, the real limiting factor of constraint is the short development time given by LA.
  16. Ender made a very intertesting point in the other thread, which seems to have relevancy in this PC vs console debate of ours: So the 7800GTX sells for $600 where as the PS3 will likely be in the $300-$400 range and have a more powerful GPU overall. http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/9132/PlaySta...n-GeForce-7800/ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Could it be that consoles offer more bang for your buck - more than my sweet, precious PC?! Now either I'm seeing the light, or I'm falling from grace...depends on your POV.
  17. What we really meant to say... :D
  18. Really? But that's impossible. What the hell do you NorCal homies have over your SoCal homie brothas. <_<
  19. WOW - I have to agree with you 100% n00b. This truly is the greatest MMORPG ever! For you see, the only good MMORPG is a dead MMORPG.
  20. False. Every competitor PC RPG/adventure title is designed to be properly played with mouse & keyboard. Even RTS & FPS PC titles don't require joypad for "futher enjoyment" as they're designed to be enjoyed with the mouse & keyboard. The only PC genre where joypad/steering wheels/joysticks are recommended/designed over move & keyboard are racing games and flight/space sims (heck, does the latter even exist anymore?), which doesn't really appeal to hypothetical PC JE's market base (apart from the fact they are PC games). If you release an RPG for the PC that isn't desigend to utilize mouse & keyboard, you're putting it out of the market, which is bad business. ---
  21. It is poor business. Period. If the maufacturer (Bioware), provides a dual analog controller (following the XBOX format, not PS2), they are incurring an additonal cost - a cost which could otherwise be avoided; a cost that reduces their profit margin no matter what. Futhermore, forcing/recommending the buyer to PURCHASE additional periferal devices PUTS IT OUT OF THE MARKET. It is flawed to compare XBOX JE to a suppositous PC JE, because they're simply not in the same market base. PC JE doesn't have to compete with XBOX JE - it has to compete with other PC titles. Other titles which don't require you to buy extra input devices just to play the game properly, or other titles where the manufacturer doesn't have to incur further expenditure in including a controller.
  22. For the time being... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You mean your personal espionage chimp has infilitrated nVidia's HQ and is attempting sabotage as we speak?!
  23. A test they passed with flying colors, I might add.
  24. I'm geek enough to know GeForce > Radeon. "
