I'm a bit shocked by how much black bleeds from these t-shirts even by just running them under cold water. I have a ton of t-shirts. In my lifetime, maybe 3 have bled this much. But those experiences have taught me to always test first by running new clothes under water first to check for bleeding. I usually associate those three past experiences with poor quality products. Anyway, I'm sure someone's going to flame me, but consider this a heads up for those of you thinking to toss this Pillars of Eternity shirt in the laundry with anything other than black clothes.

Official Keys Thread v 1.01

If someone upgrades his or her Kickstarter Hero edition to the Royal edition via Steam, will he or she lose out on the Kickstarter only in-game achievement and item? And will the new Steam game description indicate that the game is now not a Kickstarter edition? -

My friend didn't get his Steam key. Under Products, it says "No products available... yet!" Out of curiosity, how long generally does Obsidian take to respond to email sent to support**At**obsidian.net? -

Support Ticket Status
Webslinger replied to Darren Monahan's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
I think you should sincerely find some other, perhaps slightly more serious calamity or injustice to spend (or waste, in this case) time on and help overcome. "We've received a lot of support tickets and are working on them from oldest to newest as we receive them" is not "we are working on stuff as fast as we can." I did comprehend the desire for patience and understanding, however, so I felt I was polite in my initial response. I was also posting because I wasn't entirely sure if my support tickets were received (and I feared the thought of having to retype them). Regardless, no, as someone who has recently backed the game further to provide others with beta access and other goodies as gifts for their own separate accounts (and am excited for them to participate in the beta)--I'm not especially patient. I also feel one week turn around times for support tickets responses (that others are reporting) is a tad grim, in particular, when issues involve additional money being spent. More importantly, I couldn't possibly care less if you or anyone else agrees with me. And should you wish to fondly grip the back ends of devs and show support for Obsidian employees, that's great (hey, I love many of their games and wouldn't be here if I didn't), but don't expect me to fall in line, grasping wildly, along with you. Good evening -

I would sincerely appreciate getting a response to the two tickets I sent on August 17th. Thanks -

No romances confirmed
Webslinger replied to C2B's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Agreed. Great post I don't believe that the current state-of-the-art interaction mechanics allow for improved implementations of relationships. You'd need a strong AI backbone that has creative elements and is able to simulate realistic responses. That would require budget for AI coder plus hiring a good romance writer and possibly additional testers. The developers would need to cut other elements of the game in order to fund that content. Hence, this is not a good idea for the current game. It would be better to try this in an AAA effort. I was quoting that post in support of what I view as a problem with RPG gaming development, generally. That is, if devs (not necessarily Obsidian . . . for that matter, I'm not even talking about Pillars of Eternity specifically) don't like romance, there tends to be a quick knee-jerk reaction to simply omit it entirely as opposed to attempting to be innovative and move RPGs forward. Romance is a part of roleplaying, and the lack of it does not somehow equate to addition by subtraction. Budgetary reasons aside and all other things being equal, the lack of a roleplaying option does not make roleplaying games better. -

I think I already did my part (I suspect I pledged 7-10x the average amount). D&D and the spirit of role-playing, traditionally, has been a group--or even communal experience. And I'm not terribly interested in the citation of interviews as proof of much of anything other than developer opinions--as though they (while valid) are somehow completely objective and nullify the positive experiences of gamers who have enjoyed multiplayer RPGs. Regardless, it's a given that multiplayer isn't going to happen with P.E. (so, arguments here, including my post, are redundant).

I'm not forgetting that. I think that some people who are making this claim aren't realizing that as a full RPG gaming experience, developers included those romance options to allow for a richer roleplaying experience. And that full experience probably would not be appreciated by some straight female gamers. The developers took time to develop that portion of the game. So all buyers will be paying for that option, regardless of whether they make use of it. And if the romance options weren't intended to offer a fuller roleplaying experience, then it wouldn't make sense to include those options nor spend resources developing them. Anyway, even if you don't agree with me, this issue is something to consider. I know that some female gamers have felt excluded, on average, by gaming developers.
