http://www.tsn.ca/canadian_hockey/story/?i...s=topStory_main Fighting is awesome, folks. yeah, extreme case; but how many needless injuries occur because of useless fisticuffs that only add to entertain barbarians? I want REAL hockey players; not wannabe boxers lacing up skates.

"I really hope they don't because that would mean 4000 new movies and series out of Hollywood how poor and innocent Jews are suffering..." Yeah, just like those 'poor and innocent Palestinians' shtick. Well.. the poor is right. "This war was launched precisely because Hamas has recently shown signs of moderation." Yeah, launching rockets when there is a ceasefire agreement has they have been doing for MONTHS is a sure sign of moderation. L0L Of course, hardly anyone says a thing about it until Isreal starts to fight back. "Insanity... Proportionality is obviously a foreign concept to the Israelis." Yeah, because wars are won simply by fighting on even grounds. The allies should ahve done that. I guess the US shouldn't have used the hi tech they have versus Iraq. Or Russia shouldn't have used their overwhelming forces against Georgia because it isn't 'fair'. How about that war when multiple Muslim countries went to war with tiny Isreal? Yeah, that WAS fair. I doubt you'd complain if the entire Muslim ME attacked Isreal at the same time and wiped them out. Stop crying about 'unfairness'. "As it stands now, according to the UN, 76 per cent of the population of 1.5 million in Gaza is now in need of urgent humanitarian assistance. But apparently the sick-ass government of Israeli decided to let the people of Gaza die slowly by intercepting humanitarian aid ships in international waters. In short: **** the terrorist state of Israel!!!" Blame Hamas. They are a huge part of Palestine's govenrment and are failing their people. And, the UN is baised against Isreal hence why the Un didn't cry when Hamas was firing rockets at Isreal. Only when isreral fought back is when people started crying. Isreal isn't perfect, and have done their share of garbage but you painting them like Satans is no better than some people who paint all Palestinians as non innocent. *cough* Hades *cough* As for terrorist states, that would be Palestine who doens't even have a standing army and rely on terrorist groups to do its fighting. Hamas fighters are NOT loyal to Palestine; they're loyal to Hamas. Same with Fatah's fighters. It is also why they fight each other. But, hey, we know Yuusha's opinion. Isreal should be wiped out. Just like Hamas' stated goal is. But, yeah, Hamas is moderate. L0L Only time Hamas wants peace with isreal is when they need to regroup hence why when the Isreali offensive began, Hamas was not interested in a ceasefire. NOW, they wnat to take ceasefire. Why? Because, they're being crippled and need a chance to regroup so they cna start anothe rround of rockets a year from now. P.S. You say Isreal doesn't want peace. That's funny considering that they have multiple peace treaties with multiple neighbours, and haven't broken those treaties. And, those other countries don't liek isreal either. hamas doesn't want peace. They wnat Isreal not to exist. This is a fact, and is Hamas' own words. -
Not to mention the Giants treated him like crap too so if Arizona manages to beat the Giants even thoguh I'd be disspaointed my team lost; I'd be laughing at them too.

"Veronica Mars is one of the best charactors ever, a teen with an unusual life, very cute" She wans't that original. Decent character; but overrated.
-
Yeah, I was also wrong when I said neitehr Manning was a 'choker', and they'd both be winning championships, right? Or that the Giants got the better deal with they got Eli for Rivers (even though Rivers is a great QB too), huh? And, look at that, Peyton wins ANOTHER MVP. And, the 'media darling' Brees didn't even get 1 1st place vote. HAHAHAHA! Remember, the Giants had 'no chances' vs the Patriots last year. On top of this, it's not like I said SD had 'no chance' vs Indy. They do; but enough to be the favorites even at home? Nah. P.S. I notice how you quoted the stats thing but avoid commented on it ebcause you know you got skooled on it so you decided to try to make some silly funny about 'Volo is always wrong' even though I tend to be proven more rigtht han wrong in this thread. R00fles!
-
"are as meaningless as stats." Then why did you bother to point out the 'meaningless stat' (your words not mine) of Rivers having a better 'statistical season' than Manning if it is meaningless? L0L
-
"My response would be no love the bolts at home, with a QB that statiscally put up a better year than manning, superior special teams, argueably better offense, I give the defensive advantage to the colts only because Merriman will not play" Of course, SD is only in the playoffs 'cause of a horrible division. 'Statistically better'. L0L I remember when Manning was the stats man and people still bashed him 'cause he didn't have a ring now all of assuden it's all about the stats. Which is it, people? 9 straight wins. P.S. Of course, SD *does* have a chance to win. Won't take that away from them. But, being the favorites? No way.

"But what is THE REASON that these people feel a compulsive urge to needlessly tamper with established mythology and history?" L0L 'Established' mythology. Do you see how silly that reads? It's mythlogoy. It's not real. You say 'needless'; I say cool. It's good to have different takes. Afterall, Hercules is either an overly violent drunk who murdered his family or the most heroic hero ever depending on who you asked and on what day you ask them. *shrug* "And how pissed off would you be if you got to the end of God of War and found out you couldn't kill Zeus because that messes with cannon. And you can't tear Zeus' assholish anti-atheist wall down though everything up to that point led you to believe that was the whole point." 1. Sounds like an almost carbon copy of MOTB. HA! 2. Canon? We're taling about mythogy, right? 3. Nothing wrong with Zeus. Anyways, Legend of Hercules and Xena: Warrior Princess show that one can mix things up mythology and even history wise and still be entertaining. It's all about entertainment. Mythology, by default, isn't set in stone. History, on the other hand, is a little more tricky to switch up since we're dealing with things that actually exist; but it can be done. Xena/Hercules are good examples again of this.

"Yeah right Volly, then let's kill ALL PALESTINIAN people, because ya know, they deserve it and all." Yeah, because that's exactly what I said. Oh yeah, only not. R00fles! -

"It's not like the palestinian people voted a militant group to lead their government." Weird. Last i checked, Hamas is the very definition of a 'militant' group. And, Fatah, the other powerful party isn't exactly for being non militant, either. -

No. Innocent children, and civilians do not deserve to be killed. Sorry. -

"Aren't you confusing the Palestinian people with Hamas. Hamas draws strength from repeated violations against civilians, ensuring that however many are killed in these incursions, there will be 10 more to take their place." Are thse the same Palestinian people who voted Hamas into power despite the fact that they are fully aware Hamas purposefully targets civilians? Interesting. -
ARI over ATL: Somebody has a superbowl ring; the other is a rookie (a good rookie but a rookie nontheless) INDY over SD: 12-4 team vs 8-8 team? I'll take my chances are the 12-4 team even if they are the road. SD is a tough team; but sorry hard to bet against Peyton Manning. BAL over MIA: This is a really ahrd game to call. can go either way. I'll take Baltimore just because I have to take someone. MIN over PHILLY: I think Philly is the better team; but they're so hot and cold soemtimes you don't know which team you'll get. Plus, Eagles fans don't deserve to have McNabb or Reid so I hope they lose, go to another team, kick butt while Philly sucks for half a dozen years. It will serve them right. Plus, Petersen is a beast.

Of course.

"you really think Hamas is in any danger of running out of militant leaders... " No; but they do run out out of the ability to cause Isreal real damage. This is why there's this constant bombardment of rocket attacks followed Hamas 'wanting' peace, months go by, and then they start up again. Same thing will sadly happen here. Hamas is yelling no peace but as soon as they are damaged beyond ability to do anything they'll demand peace and start the process all over again. It's also not up to Ireal to make Palestinian's lives better. That's Palestine including Hamas' job as an elected party. That said, it be nice if Isreal could help them out but then again Hamas and co don't want no stinkin' Jew to help them. -
Oh, it's the old blame doping for all illnesses. That's silly. The doctors already explained what killed him. Even this report doens't actually suggest that his doping cost his death which is why I find it useless tibit of info that adds nothing to the already sad event - espicially since he can't defend himself of the accusation, and the fact it took months for this doping story to break. For some reason, I don't see this being missed. Plus, there's my innate blaisseness when it comes to the anti drug epidemic.

"I doubt Hamas represents the interest of all Palestinian people. I don't even want to know how much deception and corruption it took to get them "democratically elected". Lol." Um.. I don't know of any legit democractic party that represents the 'interest' of all people in a country. Even Obama who won 'easily' didn't even win 60% of the vote which means 40%+ didn't vote for him. In my country, our elected party didn't even come close to 50% of the vote. Bottom line is Hamas is a democratic party. "Point is what they are remembered for is being a terrorist organization." Not by the Palestinians. That's for sure. And, likely not by most of the ME, either. -
L0L Emo is a word that has become so diluted that its use has become so meaningless when used as an attack against anything the user dislikes or dissaproves of. "Oh, that's so emo!" is more emo than emo is. As for BG's dialogue beingmore 'sensible'; I think the word you are looking for is 'simple'.

Not quite true. Just because Iraq had no direct ties to 9/11 itself doesn't mean there isn't a correlation between the two. Bottom line is without 9/11, Iraq War likely never would have happened - at least not in the way it did. 9/11 gave the US the will (or the excuse depending on your view) to strike at any enemies BEFORE they attack the US homeland. US would likely rather AQ and others attempting to kill US soldiers in Iraq as well as Iraqis than facing another 9/11.

"One could reasonably assume a democratic state to be held to a greater standard than a terrorist organization." Except Hamas is a democratic party that was ELECTED into office to represent Palestinians. "A democratic state (usually) claims to be better than a terrorist organisation, therefore they are expected to put more effort into not behaving as one." That's kinda funny since most 'terrorist organisations' claim to be better than democratically elected governements - see AQ's thoguhts on how they feel about most democracies. L0L On top of this, Hamas is a demcoratic organization. "therefore they are expected to put more effort into not behaving as one." And, in fact, Isreal does by and large, does behave better than Hamas in this regard. one more time people: HAMAS IS A DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION CHOSEN BY PALESTINIANS TO REPRESENT THEM. -

"and their allies to lose land and form the Jewish state there instead of the Middle East, taking land from the Arabs who have long since claimed that territory for centuries and did nothing in WW2 to deserve the land stolen from them." Oh, please. This is a joke. The Palestinainas aren't even the original 'owners' of the lands in question. LMAO They have no more right than anyone else to claima piece of land because chances are that land like most otherwise was at one time or another stolen from someone else anyways. The fact that they have happened to be on it for centuries doesn't take this fact away. They have no more claim to Palestine than Isreal does Isreal. Or Iran has to Iran or the US has to the US, and so on so forth. "The Hamas and other organizations keep firing their crappy rockets into Israel, not mourning their own dead and just keep doing the same mistake again and again by starting new attacks. Not that I think Israel isn't without flaws, but I can certainly understand the the folks there are under constant stress and need to do something about it. Does it need the whole Arabic world to be eradicated until there's peace?" What's funny is that you hardly any reporting or condemnation of Hamas rocket attacks until Isreal responded in force. Then all of assudden you get a spamming of 'all violence must stop'. L0L "Isn't Israel continuing its attacks on the Hamas, killing hundreds of people. Not saying it isn't justified due to the rocket attacks from Hamas which shows how stupid the Hamas are." Sorry; but I don't feel sorry for Hamas because they purposefully targeted Isreal civilians, and while Isreal does sadly and wrongly kill Palestian civilians, it should be noted that Hamas purposefully targets civilians for MOST of their attacks. Besides, Hamas and their ilks don't want peace with isreal. They want Isreal wiped out. Period. All the various ceasefires do is give Hamas time tor egroup after an Isreal heavy offensive denegrates Hamas. Sadly, the Palestinians support Hamas' belief of total destruction of Isreal. Until that attitude changes this won't change. And, yeah, their are Isrealis who want Palestine wiped off the map; but they tend to be laughed at by the Isreali mainstream unlike Hamas which is quite popular with Palestinians. "But is it a good thing that the US is so powerful?" Compared to the alternatives? Absolutely. As a citizen of a much smaller neighbouring country, I feel safe from attack from the US. Even Cuba which is US's Iconic enemy on this side of world isn't going to be attacked by the US. Only Europe as a continent can claim even remoltely so the same safety and even then its iffy thanks to their closeness to the ME espicially since ME countries want to be in the EU. (Australia doesn't count, only 1 country there lol). And, comapred to previous superpowers? I'll take the US over the British Empire, Rome, et al. any day of the week.
