No more than the 'stereotypical' M/F romances most likely. *shrug* A nice percentage of the BIO fanbase likes romances so they are doing the right thing - giving their fanbase what they want. For me personally, romances mean nothing outside they give me more role-playing oppurtunties.

Depending on what the Sharks would have to give up for Heatley, they could be even more of a threat than they are already. I could see him, and Thornton having 100+ points easily with Thornton with 80 assists, and Heatley with 50-60 goals.

BGDA was a fun game. Anyone trying to compare it the PC games or RPGs is kinda missing the point. It's an action game,m and as an action game it's pretty awesome. That's because people tend to think that because BG2 is the more 'fun'/'better' game than NWN that it atitomatically makes it more of a RPG. It doesn't. Like I said, I like BG2 more than NWN OC. Easily. BG2 is tied for my #1 favorite RPG along with FO2; but better at being a RPG? No, not even close. Alanshu covers why quite a bit in his post.

BIO's formula is simple: make quality games that people WANT to play. All their games bring different things to the table. Sure, they have similarities but that shouldn't be surprising as they should stick with their strengths. ME, JE, KOTOR,a nd DA are all different games that bring different things to the table while still being true to BIO. When I buy a BIO game, I expect a BIO game. Not something else. When I buy an Obsidian game I expect an Obsidian game. Not something else. If I wanted 'something else', I'd have bought something else.

They can do that with DA or ME2 since they're actually new.

It's a product of its time when standards of actual role-playing in role-playing games was rather low. Lack of real differences in dialogue choice, lack of multiple endings, very few C&C, lack of combat options, etc., etc.

If you say "this is a D&D game" people will, not unreasonably, expect the classic D&D elements." D&D cna be played with a 'solo' character and be quite fun. While 4 characters is the usual, it's far from the only number that cna be used. It's a myth to claim it's the only way to have fun with D&D. P.S. NWN is awesome. And, the OC while not the greatest ever, is better than 90% of other D&D video games including SOU, SOZ, EOTB series, and tons more.
