  1. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. there's nothing wrong with it persay...it's just too generic - I see the same face in Guild Wars and on Barbie Dolls,, for example. I'm sure they could've graphically updated her old polygon face while still keeping her Lara look to a bigger degree. Not that it actually matters. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fair enough. But I think a comparison with Barbie is a bit strong. Nobody's face could ever hope to be that plastic, lol.
  3. Oooooh- the hand cream and towels were for the climbing. That's what I get for having too much tequila last night :">
  4. Hand cream and towels? To sit at a computer with? I suppose you could sit on the towels, but what's the handcream for? All a matter of opinion, I suppose. I think Keira Knightly's quite pretty, in an English rose sort of way.
  5. Blasphemy! That Desktop Lara is not going to help when it comes to coursework... What's wrong with Lara's new face? Lots of famous Brits have been getting new faces- Joan Collins, Catherine Zeta Douglas Imfromwales-honest! Jones- and it's done them the world of good. I quite like it; now she looks less like a computer generated image from the mid 90's and more like.... an actual woman, which is good. Eases the transition back into the real world. Wouldn't want another whiplash incident. Anyhoo, can't sit lollygaggin' all day- Lara wants me to help her climb those windows. I'll be getting the game (haven't played one since Revelations)- for research purposes, you understand.
  6. Not that I'm aware of- it's just higher resolution movies so that they look less grainy. Similar thing with the music patch.
  7. I played it for an hour or so on the ps2, and thought that it was ok- graphically it looked nice (not state of the art, but still nice), the combat was a bit different (though i haven't played it enough to know if I like it or not- but combat isn't really that important to me anyways)- especially the combat on a horse, and (importantly for me) the what i saw of the story made me want to play more. The voice acting, as you'd expect from the cast, was quality. The controls however, even with the idiot-proof PS2 controller, felt like big, heavy lead-coated wooden blocks, though you get used to that. Basically its a Western (complete with horsies!), with a GTA feel to it, but I thought there was enough new and different stuff to nicely distance it from GTA. Would I buy it? No. Despite being good and having a character sufficiently like a Spaghetti Western era Clint Eastwood, there are other games I'd rather buy first.
  8. My mistake, their calling it a CTP, not a Beta. Rhymes with CTD, which can't be good... Anyways you have to subscribe to MDSN (whatever that is) and I even have a linkey! (like a slinky, only it doesn't do stairs)
  9. I think I heard something about a Beta, but other than that, I don't think so.
  10. Vista is the new OS from microsoft isn't it? What does SKU stand for?
  11. DEATH- as in Discworld's DEATH. Who could forget the Discworld pointandclick adventure games? Right? I could murder a curry. Jolee Bindo Kreia HK-47 Tomi Undergallows (NWN) Jan Ors (we never did find out where she punched that Weequay) Dr Robotnik- he had the right idea. Nico Collard Grimgnaw (NWN) Edited Bastilla out of the top 10. She may have feminine wiles, but she's just not a deranged monk (though many might argue to the contrary).
  12. Sorry if you've said this somewhere and I've missed it, but did you install the 1.0b patch?
  13. But when is Vrook ever complimentary about anybody? I enjoyed his demise. *shakes fist*
  14. I'm sure I've heard somewhere of a minor bug that sometimes loses you items, though I'm not 100% sure on that, I'll see if I can dig anything up about it (I'm sure its happened to me as well, though I normally put that down to me being scatty becuase to be perfectly honest I misplace things a lot in real life too )
  15. Just in case anyone's still wondering, I've got a laptop with a Radeon 345M in it :"> , and it does play KotOR II, but you need the patch for it to work, and it's extrememly slow in densely populated ares (eg. Onderon) and around gas effects but, that said, it works better, imo, than KotOR did (especially with some of the more recent driver releases).
  16. And Barbarella- for the deep, involving plot.
  17. I'm gonna go with Labyrinth, because the bit where Obi Wan was high on the gas in the Citadel on Cato Nemoidia had me in stitches. To be fair, though, I haven't read all of them. Looking at that, and then at the previous posts again, I suddenly feel so very, very simple. :"> meh. :D
  18. Christ YES only 4 years older than me!
  19. 2nd that <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no doubt about it, shes one of the hottest actresses both in Star Wars and out (like Closer). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Christ YES with the walking in slow motion towards the camera scenes in Closer!
  20. Relativistic morals are indicative of chaotic alignment. I would have thought that the Jedi Council were more monastic and therefore Lawful and even Good. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> and @ Darth Flatus For the Jedi as a whole, i would agree on the alignment point. However, was "what I told you was true from a certain point of view" not Obi Wan's line in TESB? Besides which, have you never done anything out of character because you felt it was the right thing to do? P.s. sorry to backtrack, i've been busy, so haven't been on, but I felt that had to be said.
  21. I believe that, by default, when you discuss right and wrong then you must take point of view into account; to a large extent point of view is what determines right or wrong. Dark side or no, he defended his friend and the Code; in my opinion that was the right thing to do. Even the misguided can sometimes do the right thing... III will be a much more interesting movie thanks to this discussion. Thanks! Cloris <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oooo, very Ben Kenobi with the point of view thing, lol Influence Gained: Darth Somethingorother
  22. I really like asides: so what is the name/date of the battle you're referring to above? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I knew I'd be called on it. I honestly can't remember (it was years ago I saw/read it), I would estimate it was before Henry V, but even that is just an educated guess. (Henry V did conduct a lot of bloodthirsty battles in France.) I know it ushered in a new era of post-chivalry, because (naturally enough) everyone else stopped being chivalrous back. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Better example of our good old english chivalery might have been Richard the Lionhearted's massacre of the people of Antioch- after he'd taken the city. @ Darth Flatus; in all fairness, and maybe a slightly pedantic pov, you don't know Palpatine's whole story either- he might have done some really great things before he became a Sith, and been an all- round nice bloke. The kind of bloke who you'd buy a Tarisian Ale for if you saw them in the cantina. The best way to find out, would have been to put him on trial- he could always have been stripped of the force. In the words of Obi-Wan Kenobi; "there are alternatives to fighting".
  23. Anakin, I think, did the right thing in stopping Mace, but he did it in the wrong way, and for the wrong reasons.
  24. @ The elite_ elite; Then you haven't played the game as a female and considered the Disciple's cut-scenes. Ok, so I've never read the Xisor story to the full, and was blagging slightly on that point (fair cop gov'), but it does say on the star wars data-bank page for Xisor, that is races obliteration was the unfortunate result of an accident. Re the later thing; okies, i'll be a good sith and put down my saber :D
