  1. Oh, it has NOTHING to do with the graphics being limited...I could make a better Cage myself! In fact, I have, for use with my XWA mod and the comics LOL, the biggest single graphics flaw with the entire KOTOR series: THEY ALWAYS MAKE THINGS WAYYYYY TOO SMALL <_< I mean, if they could widen-out Bespin for the SE of ESB, could they at least take the time to make KOTOR have bigger than idgit-sized sets?? The Hawk was about the ONLY man-made set in the entire game series that had the proper dimensions! The Shadowlands of Kashyyk, Dantooine, they were NOT scaled properly! The Shadowlands in Republic Commando show the *REAL* size of the Shadowlands, not the horribly confined and coffin-like sets that KOTOR had! I know, there were a LOT of graphical/visual contradictions with Republic Commando, the Trando's were the worst aspect...Turning them into idgits and giving them pinky-knives was NOT a great idea However, I think they accurately captured Kashyyk with Republic Commando...I can't say much for the rest of the game personally, but Kashyyk was done very well. Now, that whole Trando military base thing at the end of RC was a little overkill (by a little, I mean a *LOT* ), but I could see why they'd need to make such a fortress to control those violence-prone carpets Hm...Maybe I could put MY prison cell into K2 and make it replace the cages in the game...? Something else I'll look at while I'm re-balancing the game to work with Harccore
  2. I don't care about Bast's lying, that wasn't really germane to my reasons why I hated her, this is why: 1. The voice was way too annoying, after that first lecture after I wiped out Brejik, I was about ready to start randomly deleting voice files 2. She was always acting like a stuck-up child, then the Jedi Masters turn around and make HER your "Master"??? WTF! Even Carth could tell what Bast was doing, and he outright stated as much during the post-Brejik speech where Bast and Carth were bitching over who was in command 3. Dark Side or no, Bast is just too damned annoying...Again, that voice gets on my nerves almost worse than Mission's does! 4. Bast acts like she's from Harvard, and yet she's even younger than you! WTF is up with that bull****?? I mean, would it not stand to reason that an intelligent soldier/war veteran like yourself would not be led around by the nose by someone like Bast all the time?? 5. Bast always talks about Jedi Code this, and Sith Code that late in the game, but ultimately, she never finds herself or her true calling while staying around you! She just dances around in your shadow all the time! I find that to be particularlly ANNOYING...It's even as bad as the subserviant nature of Brianna and Visas... Mira at least told me to back off and pulled out the mace dart! She was about the ONLY girl on that entire boat who would stand up to me without showing fear or not knowing anything about the Force and being your slave all the time just to learn about the Force... Mira was the most fun because she was not a part of your history, so there was nothing that could interfere with you or your rise to ultimate power Hehehe...Mira doesn't dance in your shadow like the rest, she learns, but she doesn't try to follow you around like a lost puppy all the time...She makes a better Sith Apprentice than any of the others do because she can't man-handle you with your past life, and she could become entirely detached from you when you need her to be, which means you won't get hurt if she falls in battle, or vice-versa. If Brianna or Visas get hit by anything, you'll pretty much be feeling it the same as they do...That is a serious weak-spot and a liability, Mira is not a liability Plus, here's another thing: Mira, unlike the rest, has EXPERIENCE with hiding from the galaxy and she can dissapear real fast when she wants to, which makes her a better Sith Assasin than any of your other Sentinels I'd like to have a female Wookie, next game...That might make things interesting Imagine learning the lessons of true strength and power from a female Wookie, then turning her into your slave Now, THAT would be an interesting little dalliance, ROFL! :D Hrmmmm..I've always wanted to date an alien...Maybe a female Bothan like Asyr from Stackpole's books? :D
  3. Regardless, many of the things from the Sith Wars era didn't make it into the current-day SW galaxy... My char may be one of those relics, but let's just say he came along a planet about 2 years after he went on his own journey into the Unknown Regions, and the inhabitants knew of a way to drastically extend natural lifespans, combine that with the Force...Makes Yoda/Vandar look like children by comparison...900 years...PAH! I love the Unknown Regions...The ability to do just about anything with SW exists as long as you use the UR Palpatine could have lived for many more years had he created more than one clone of himself...So could a lot of others from the Clone Wars era...I don't mean those two-week clones that go insane, either, I mean letting the clones fully mature Surely Palpidious knew about the potential to hide a few cloning tanks in the unknown regions...? I don't understand why certain people in SW never do anything to extend their lifespans...I guess it's a morality choice...Alaric just needed to survive as the last Qel-Droma from that era in the galaxy, so his time simply had not come... There is a *LOT* of potential in the 3000 years between KotoR and the current-day SW EU story branches....A *LOT* can happen in 3,000 years, you know Hell, a *LOT* can happen in just two hours sometimes :D
  4. Jesus, are ANY of you experienced in creating ultima-builds at all?? Sigh...First, make sure you are level 30 before hitting Malachor V, second, make sure you have a very high attack and a reasonable damage with keen in case you can't stop their charge with the Force. Now, here's my strat for tackling these pitiful little pests: 1. Throw a Thermal at them first, once it goes off, nail them with Stasis Field and/or Storm, if they aren't stopped by Statis, then get ready for melee, switch to Juyo and hit Master Speed and Master Aura/Shield, once he gets to you, nail him with Master Flurries and watch him fall before he makes the second attack If you get nailed by 2 or more (Which never happend to me, ever....I rarely have to fight with 3 melee guys at once, because by the time they get to me, my Storm spam has likely dropped two of them and the third is down to like 20 hp or less ), just use Resilience..It's not only for blasters, you know The Storm Beasts died easier than any other enemy in the game for me...None of them could hope to match my power...Very few enemies in this game ever could, so that's maybe not saying much...? Learn how to ultima-build...I might publish my strats to GameFAQ's one day, but I'm too busy with XWA to worry about a strat right now... One lesson to learn: You need feats more than powers, so it's best to do Guardian/Sith Lord if you want to be spamming the Force all the time and still be able to wrestle with heavy melee enemies like the Storm Beasts whenever you want As a WeaponM/SM I never once got hit with more than 25 damage by the Storm Beasts, ever...When I went guardian/jm/sl, the things almost never hit me because of Crush Opposition and Master Meditation Beast Trick works wonders if you want to have a totally open attack with no defense against you! Nail them with BT and then use your most deadly attack...Whatever it is I always have a lethally strong defense for melee, and a nearly unstoppable collection of Force abilities that I can wipe out most enemies with before they can even get to me...The Guardian/JM/SL combo is definately nasty if you know what you are doing with that build....Between Crush Opposition and Master Meditation, the enemy has almost no chance in hell of hitting you...Man, I love that during the Palace battle...Hehehe...Even Kreia's weak-ass melee attacks wiped the floor with them after I kept spamming CO/MM Hehehe....I can give you some really cool saves if you like, to learn how to make an ultima-build...The basic strat is easy to understand, but there are a few certain options that you have to make some nasty judgement calls with...Primary among them being Jedi or Sith...Naturally a Weaponsmaster won't be nearly as deadly in force combat as the Marauder would be because the WM will focus on powering himself up, while the Marauder is far more likely to sit back and spam Storm and Death Field before the enemies even get close to attacking With my last Marauder, I had around 400 FP's, combo that with Master Shield, Speed, Energy Resist, Force Immunity, Storm, Death Field, and Force Confusion, and you can tell why there was almost no one who could get close to me except for the bosses My last Guardian/SL had 650HP/550FP, very well-balanced and practically unhittable by conventional attacks, about the only thing that could contact me was the bosses, and even then they barely had a scratch on me... Hardcore has really made my ultima-building interesting as of late...I love Hardcore when you use it's harder settings because it adds force resistance to your enemies based on levels, so it makes my Storm spamming less effective I remember when I killed every Jedi Master except for Vrook with nothing but Lightning...Vrook is always my first battle because he's the hardest to fight with if you start with him first...He has an insane defense and his master flurry-isim will kill you in two attacks Only way I could tackle him was with Thermals and spamming lightning and hiding behind the trees while he just sat there and took all the damage without even seeing me Abuse your terrain, another lesson...Another critical lesson for *ANY* real-time game: Be isnanely careful with your timing...If you time things just the slightest bit wrong, that will get you killed sometimes...Especially if you're not that strong against melee like the storm beasts... Another lesson, this one is going to be insanely important: ALWAYS do every dialogue option with Kreia and HK-47 and T3, those three will give you INSANE bonuses to experience, force points, and your vital stats like Wisdom and so on... The wookie is also a good tool for boosting your CON and STR, but I prefer Mira over the carpet myself...

I asked them because I don't care about what anyone else has to say about this matter, because no one else but Obsidian has control over what happens to the music in the future. I don't want this topic to turn into another flamewar/riot against Lucasfarts...I've had way too many of them lately, and I'm just tired of it. Don't even mention Lucasfarts, because they probably had nothing to do with the decision to use the low-quality music tracks anyway...
  6. I have only played it once so far (I'm waiting for the patch before bothering giving it a second go), but I most certainly didn't kill Sith Lord's with one hit... Maybe you are powerful enough for that if you are an extreme powerplayer, but I am not. So for me, the game works fine. But if you want a challenge, just use auto level up - like I did in KotOR I... :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You think I'd let a random program have control over me and my input? What are you high on?? Pah! At least when I use my ultima-builds, Hardcore will keep me from wiping out everyone in one hit I never use kids'-table ****...I always play my best with every game. Anything less and I'm just not expanding on my skills and they will get dulled if I do anything less than my best

  8. Hardcore is still needed...This game has some really crappy scripting, and unless you make the enemies tougher, the gameplay is just stupid, killing off Sith Lord's and Marauder's with one hit like that isn't my cup-o-tea

I actually went and made a tiny little mod to allow me to slaughter Grenn..Heh..It doesn't allow the game to resume after that, but it's still fun to slaughter that goddamn do-gooder Now if only I could make Mira slaughter him with a few glitterstim darts Next up for me: K2: Kill Carth. LOL, I might just rename this game to read "KotoR II: Kill Kreia" :D K2 felt to me the first time I played it like a poorly-scripted version of Kill Bill, heh heh heh...
  10. Ok, I know everyone uses the mods at least twice So, what's your favorite lineup? This is mine: Skins/Models: Mandalore's Mandalorians (Changes the blue/yellow/red Manda's to use Mandalore's Armor, very cool and makes them look more predatory ) Colja's DS 3-Pack (I can't live without this one, but I use an alternative Bao-Dur darkside skin, I only use the Brianna and Male PC reskins myself..) Hanharr Refined (Makes the Wookie of Death darker, which is a definate plus in my book ) Military Spec HK Series (This thing is mandatory for me...I can't stand the one-tone paint jobs on these droids...makes me puke to see the father of all assasin droids have a puke-orange skin...) Mira Re-Skin (This is one of the older ones out there, this basically gives Mira a far more stylish look with redder hair and a much nicer outfit) Monster Packs 1 and 2 (Mandatory, for the obvious reasons that you fight them all the time ) Prequel Saber Blades (This is pretty cool in my book...I thought there was far too much saturation with the original blades...) Vader's Saber Hilt (This is what makes using a Red Lightsaber badass ) Gameplay/Effects Mods: Anti-Speed Blur (I need my buffer effects, but I *HATE* speed with a passion, as it nearly turns me blind for 36 seconds ) Force Crush FX (This is the original that I use, I don't like the one posted a few days ago because it sounds like the inside of a mother's womb while digesting a cow) Demolitions-Based Grenades and Rockets/Darts (This is what makes pumping points into demolitions worth the investment I love getting 200 damage with a thermal, bwuhahaahahha ) Prestige Padawans (If you manage to get your Jedi NPC's to a certain alingment percentage, they will become a prestige class according to their original Jedi class, which means 2 Assasin's and 2 Marauders, potentially...I can't live without this mod...It is a total must-have for me) Skip Peragus (Ok, this is just way too long and boring after having done it uptillion times, and I just cannot con myself into putting up with it every time I want to make a new build ) Hardcore Mod w/ Hard setting (If you mod, you need this...I'd say you need this even if you never use any other mod! K2 is simply way too easy to beat without Hardcore) Force Power Gain (This is a new one that enhances each Jedi Class's Force Power gains for various level-ups...There was one made for K1 that was a huge success, this is the K2 edition, and it's just as nessasary for maximum enjoyment ) Item Packs: Envida's 1.3 Complete Mods (Totally needed if you use Skip Peragus and Hardcore, the items are balanced well with the start of a new game) Prestige-Class Robes&Items Pack (This is somewhat not needed, but it's great to have later in the game if you are using Hardcore ) PC Beginning Items Pack (This gives you some vibro-weapons that are incredibly useful in getting on your feet while using Hardcore) I do not endorse the use of Exile's Item Pack and similar mods because the items are way too imbalanced, even for use with Hardcore. When I did use this mod with Hardcore, I was doing about 400 total damage with twin sabers and master flurry and speed...That was against the toughest enemies in the entire game, too...Even with Hardcore running full steam... Very rarely will I use the 100% Influence mod, usually only if I'm going to make Mira darkside and still make DS mastery before my second planet
  11. Yet another piece that was cut...This game needs a huge content patch, I don't care too much about the bugs, but I want the content! Although, I can agree with the Miraluka thing not making it into K2, because by the time Visas finds you, it has been a couple of years since Miraluka was wiped off the charts... The Miraluka went the way of the Caamasi in the more current SW EU galaxy
  12. Ok, I vote for Mira... I myself have a g/f that is about 6 years younger than I am, so I can relate to the Exile/Mira thing a lot easier...I never had that much success with people my age because I look like I'm 15 even though I'm 23...Naturally my baby-face causes 'issues' with people older than me, and even people my age. Now, it is arguable how much older the Exile is over Mira...I am guessing between 5-12 years older than Mira, but it could be less...She looks about 22-to-25-ish...The Exile can look as old as 40 if you're the male PC with the long hair routine and a Sith (like my RPG char Alaric is), so... Now, I like Kreia too, but not for the same reasons...I like her because she has a depth of knowledge, worldli-ness, and wisdom that everyone else in the galaxy seems to lack entirely. I have no problems with older people, mostly because I understand what it's like to be the only intelligent person in a room who's been around the world a few dozen times Revan...I don't like Revan for one reason: He/She is not a true Sith Lord, compared to contemporaries like Exar and Ulic, Revan is a mere child playing at their shadows. I'd like a female Revan as an NPC for K2...I think it would have added a lot of depth to the game...All the talk about Revan, but you never saw him/her, you only found vague clues...Does anyone else think that Revan will be the first person to make contact with the Vong...? Maybe K3 will have Revan running back from the Unknown Regions with a force of Vong hot on his tail...Then he goes running to the Trayus Academy or Telos to find the Exile and his students (which undoubtedly by the time K3 rolls around, the Exile will have found even more Jedi I think by then), and we get to have a *REAL EU FIGHT*, not these pitiful attempts to play in the shadows of the greatest Sith Lords and Jedi Masters... I want to have some more battles in the Ebon Hawk's turret...I want to be having a war with Vong...IMHO, if a certain project in the XWA community would have picked up their pace, I could have made my own Vong mod for XWA...sigh.. Anyway, I think Mira is the best female NPC for either game...Bastilla was just too...Snobby...She was stuck-up, even as a Sith, and I just got tired of her whiny attitude and her stubborn-ness...I couldn't take it after the 1,200-th time I played K1... For the smartest/most reliable NPC: Kreia...Hands down. She reminds me so much of the true Masters of the Force...Not these children like Revan and Nihilus and Sion...Or even the Exile. She only went to the Exile because she was stripped of her power and the Exile was the only Jedi left that she could form a Force Bond with to re-establish her powers anyway... Kreia is very much a Force Master...If she were male, she'd be what I've aspired to be all my life, both in the real world and in the PC world...I've had some success with that, but like all manipulation, it does take time to weave the webs and entangle the hopeless within them The sort-of love I have for Kreia is like the love I have for the most experienced people I've been around in my life....I feed off knowledge, I have a near-perfect memory retention, and so I literally feed off everyone's experience and knowledge whenever I can...I try not to depend on what I learn too much, and rather try to use my knowledge to formulate my own strategies for life's challenges... Mira is good because she's fun-loving, and has a sense of adventure that the rest of your...Entourage..Lacks... Visas is good because you connect with her on a spiritual level that you never match with anyone else, not even Kreia...But she was wounded by her past, and is haunted by it every waking moment, which makes her something of a party-pooper Brianna...She *CAN* be fun-loving, but she's far too serious, and everything is combat training this and combat training that with her...Don't get me wrong, I love girls who are willing to stand up to me and fight, I won't hang around girls who don't stand up to me and the challenges I throw at them However, Brianna talks about her heritage and training far too much for my tastes...Combat training is all well and good for someone like me who is a creature of war, but ultimately, it becomes boring very quickly after you've beaten her and put her into her place You just convert her from being the slave of a Jedi Librarian to being the slave of a broken Jedi Knight who's memories of the past will never fade, and will forever be carrying those wounds with him/her I really like Mira because she's detached from your past, where everyone else is totally entrapped with your past...I am one of those people who hates living in the past (My past, both in real life and with Star Wars has always been full of trouble, for example...), and Mira doesn't like the past either, she wants to live for the moment and the future. Like I say: Mira is fun. Here's the personality breakdown: Bastilla: Snobby and stuck-up...She must've come from one of those Harvard Jedi Families or something Mission: Shave a few years off Mira, and take away Mira's predatory nature, and you have Mission...However, Mission lacks Mira's spirit, which is the break-point for me Revan: If Revan is a female, I would say this would be an interesting relationship...Imagine trying to be a male and holding Revan's personality together... Buwhhahahahah Oh, and please let me slaughter Carth with a cattle prod! Mira: Fun-loving, predatory in a good way, and you get to train her from youth, something you don't get to do with anyone else...Lollita? Erm..Wait...Uhh...Heh... Brianna: She's predatory in an annoying way, and is far too severe and subserviant for my tastes...At least Mira tells me to back off and pulls out the mace dart Visas: Deep spiritual connection, but too unstable and wounded to have a real relationship with... Kreia: What can I say? She's your teacher, and yes, her preaching is annoying, but Kreia knows a lot, and I can ignore the preachy attitude in order to memorize her knowledge..Love her like you love a parent or martial arts Master, and I don't mean a US master either. Another thing with Bastardilla...The whole master-student routine with her just makes her worse than she already is...That voice was seriously on my nerves after the first speech she gave after I wiped out Brejik... Kreia's voice was less annoying than Bastardilla's was! Sigh...You don't know how much I was waiting for a char like Mira to show up in one of these games...Mission was just hentai otaku material with those tentacle-demons behind her...That came up...From behind... Too much of Mission is annoying, too much of Mira is never enough :D I sort-of liked Mission, but her voice was just too minnie-mouse and she lacked any maturity, where Mira was a far more developed charecter, in more ways than two :D LOL, I remember when I used the "Make Mission a Caucasion" mod...Heheheh....That was a riot with the boys in the clan for a while, especially the Otaku's among us
  13. Ok Obsidian, I just want you to answer one simple question: Why was the music encoded at such a low rate? The game is 4 CD's, K1 had better music quality and it was 4 CD's, so I imagine it wasn't because you lacked the space on the discs...? I listen to Mark Griskey's K2 music pieces from his website, and I am shocked and amazed at the difference between the pieces on his site, and what is with the game. I know this question was posted before, but instead of asking you guys WHY you did it, those people turned around and started talking about re-encoding it on their own and violating copyrights all over the board... I am simply asking why this choice was made, because I cannot imagine you lacked the disc space nessasary. Now, here is a proposal: Re-Encode them to higher spec, and use GZip or 7Zip to compress them, then do it as content or a patch... If you use the right compression, you can REALLY slim down the total filesize for such an update, and so you wouldn't have Lucasarts screaming at you about the patch size. Now, here's another thing: Battlefront 1.2 is nearly 200MB long, I would easily download such an update for K2 within 5 minutes with my connection...I know what that would mean to dialup, but since the X-Box itself isn't dialup, I don't see why the patch size would make such a huge difference. I would have thought Griskey would be rather upset about his work being encoded at such a low rate in the game... This is not meant to be inflammatory or anything, just a simple question that I think deserves a simple explanation from the devs here. I think, if you used the right compression, you could deleiver such an update to us without Lucasarts screaming at you about the filesize issue...Just a suggestion. Surely if you don't have the higher-quality original tracks, Griskey would happily provide them to you, I imagine
  14. No matter HOW many times I restarted the duel, she was always invulnerable... The only thing I could do was start a new game, since all of my saves for that play-through resulted in the same bug, but when I just started a new game, it was not happening... Damn bugs...*Gets can of RAID* ...Ok, which one of y'all is hungry?!
  15. LOL! Well, this is fun...After I finished my duel, I went to re-equip myself, and found that my ENTIRE inventory was GONE...The only things I had were what was on my char and NPC's...Sigh.. Nice bug...Remind me to send HK after those dirty lizards...That's what happens when you let those....Creatures....Program your game for you :D Damned Trando's....A new bug-source...Now I have a whole new reason to commit alien genocide

I just was playing through the game for the upteenth time (I finally decided to stay relatively neutral until I finished with Nar to get Mira)...I just beat the trando gang, and I went to do my second fight with Brianna... Well, I just kept putting the smacketh-down on her with Master Flurries, and guess what...I kept hitting her with about 90 total damge each round, but she got to a small sliver of HP, and would not go below that LOL! That is one interesting bug...My first actual bug, come to think of it...I've been playing a long time without running into these little bugs before, but I guess I was destined to get one after all Well, it was fun to keep attacking her for the next 5 minutes, wrestling around with her while she's mostly naked, but I just got bored of it and whipped out my twin lightsabers and cut her down...She died in the hold That's another thing: I can kill her with a lightsaber, but not with anything else...Hehehe...DIE! Mira and Visas all the way after I slaughter that pesky do-gooder ' EDIT: I just found out that it was the new Force Powers feat-gain mod that was put out today, I don't have any reason why giving the various Jedi classes a different method of gaining Force powers would also turn Brianna invulnerable in her second fight, but it does...When I didn't use that mod, she could be defeated...Strange...All it does is alter the gaining of force powers... EDIT2: I just exited the duel and exited and re-entered the ship and I was able to defeat her...Something got goofed after the fight with the lizards I guess...Odd.
  17. Try persuading two intelligent and educated girls to hang around you all the time I managed to...One of them I had to use some persuasion, but ah well What would I most like to do? Manipulate everyone I come into contact with, with or without the Farce...Which, I ultimately end up doing anyway all the time, so...
  18. Well, I used the original items initially, I didn't do QUITE as much damage as I did with the mods, but it was almost as close. I had Storm doing 90+ damage with my right saber doing a good 150 per hit, left was about 90 or so... I can do more damage with the mods, but that's a moot point...You see, the Exile's Item Pack is one thing I hate to use, and I don't use it because it's just a large number of uber-items, where Envida's are far more balanced with Hardcore. With the normal game and Hardcore I was doing pretty high damage with both my Saber and with Storm/DeathField, and as long as I made my sabers both Keen, well, let's just say that with maxxed-out two-weapon and lightsaber feats, I NEVER missed a single hit, and I always landed a critical, but that's when I wasn't endlessly spamming Storm and DField with the 450FP that I had Try getting a Marauder with that much FP's, most people I know can't even do that with a SL build...Plus I had about 600 HP during my normal games...I had more HP with the mods, but again it's not really important what I could do with the mods... LOL, I remember one thing: If you fight Vrook first before you do anything else, you will get your arse handed to you, mods or not. The ONLY way I could take him down was by shopping at all the planets first, getting about 4-5 detonators, and hiding behind the trees and ambushing Vrook as I came back out of hiding, since Vrook seems to entirely loose track of you once you get behind those trees Vrook is the hardest fight if you take him first, which I always do...Without mods, that fight can be almost impossible because he will sit there and spam Master Heal and Master Flurry, he can kill me in two hits, with or without mods, if I try to fight him directly. The only way I ever countered Vrook was with ambushes with thermals and spamming Lightning and drain life/force. Of course, only an idiot tries to tackle Vrook first, but ah well For a Consular, Vrook is hell-on-wheels with the Lightsaber, he makes Kavar look like a gizka by comparison!

I posted mine a while back, my Guardian/SL/JM combo and my Guard/SM/WM builds When you build a Marauder that has 750HP/450FP at level 30, then you know true perfection when he ALWAYS lands 150-230 on his right-hand uber-saber and 50-120 in his left. Even with Hardcore I still couldn't manage to land one-hit-kills, even when my Storm was doing in excess of 120 and my sabers were totalling damage over 400 per hit! I cannot live without Hardcore...I think it's simply a MANDATORY mod for this game's horrid AI problems...Since no one has yet taken a crack at re-designing the shoddy AI programming, Bean simply side-stepped that and made the enemies tough as nails...Something that I forever will be remembering...Thanks Bean. I have dug my claws into the AI code for the last 3 weeks, and I've made some progress...Do you know that no matter WHAT AI mode I put my droids into, they *NEVER* use their special weaponry? When I put them into Jedi script with K1, the droids fired off their specials, but there is no Jedi mode for the droids in K2, so they never will use their specials!! Well, I have repaired that major flaw by giving the droids back their "Jedi" AI mode so they can use their special weaponry now...I have also taken a look at making both your AI and your enemies AI, making everyone use more feats and thier higher-tier Force abilities instead of spamming low-kilter powers. IMHO, when you have Storm on Atton, he will sometimes shoot off a normal Lightning instead??? WTF is with THAT? Talk about a waste of FP's! I will probably release the Jedi-Droid-Mode bugfix soon, but I may wait until I finish the rest of my AI changes...If this thing gets comboe'd with Hardcore, this game will be much more challenging and fun.. BTW, the reason I am here instead of at Holowan is because those boards won't send me my registration email for some stupid reason...Something with Lucasforums is bugged... Anyway, I wonder why no one has thought of fixing the droid AI malfunctions yet? It's so simple, all you have to do is re-enable the "Jedi" mode for the droids... I may not release anything until I am finished with XWA, which will take some more time...I have done some extensive work on K2 to rebalance things (that's what I do asides from writing and mission design, I re-balance games until they are perfect, it's my life's only persuit...I gave up most of my life to do these things to the few games that I genuinely care about...I left high school to go to college, and now I'm starting to leave college as well...I need to move to Cali so I can get a game design degree...I am really becoming tired of being a damn network admin...No fun in that at all...), so I will probably just wait until I'm finished with my larger mods before I think about releasing little bugfixes and patches...I will simply include those with the larger mod. Of course, I won't be done with XWA for a while yet because I still have to write another 75 missions with full voiceover support, 25 I may have done, but there are still 75 more...Takes me two days per mission to make it perfect and all.. I wish every game were as easy to mod as XWA is...K2 could learn a few tricks about proper scripting from XWA...I'd rather hex-edit than have to write dozens upon dozens of scripts and re-compile everything...Sigh.

I must apologize for my rage, anger, and hate, but those of you who have been living SW for as many years as I have may have some inkling of understanding of what I feel for Lucasarts and their continued betrayls... Ultimately, during my time with LSF and EH, I let SW become my life, and when Lucasarts slapped us all in the face by killing X-Wing, it ruined EVERYTHING...The league began to fragment as the best Force Masters among us became bored of killing everyone we faced in JK1 and XvT in those days...When XWA was abandoned and no further games were made, that was the end for everything I was so involved in. I lost people who had been very deep friends for years as the leagues fragmented....It was like I was the Exile and I was watching everyone fade away around me over Malachor...Almost exactly the same... That is why I feel the way I do about KotoR....It is SO familiar to my own story and the story of those I was attached to! When K2 and Obsidian have now been betrayed like this....You can see why I have such deep hatred for Lucasarts for continuing to do this to me and everyone else in the community. If it was just about what they did to me, I wouldn't bother...However, this is about the fate of the game itself, and the entire community, because without a patch, people are QUICKLY going to leave this game, that is a FACT. People are really losing all hope that K2 will ever be patched, and those same people are quickly losing hope that K3 will be even half as good as K2 is, *IF* Lucasarts lets another KotoR game be made after this mess!!
  21. Which is why I am recalling my people...If Lucas won't do anything to save the galaxy that OTHERS have written and created, then someone must stand up to these tyrants. You think Lucas created Star Wars as it is now?? You'd be SADLY mistaken. It was created by a vast number of creative consultants, writers, and people like you and me who have poured their lives into it over the last 10 or more years! Pah! Lucas is only responsible for doing ONE thing: Creating the films, which have nothing to do with the SW galaxy outside of his movies. However, because of his sub-par first two films, he has ruined OTHER people's work! A lot of the greatest SW writers like Zahn, Stackpole, and others have ABANDONED SW because of the ENDLESS contradictions that Lucas always creates between his new movies, and the books they have written!! As Lucas continues to ruin continuity, he continues to ruin a LOT of people's hard work and makes their efforts turn into nothing but nickel&dime pieces of crap! However, my war against Lucas may never come...My war with Lucasarts has secretly been going on for many years now, and if they continue to ruin things, I will act to preserve things before they get ruined again...I care not what I have to do.. Obsidian's credibility has been severely damaged because of K2's problems! That is NO ONE's fault except for Lucasart's!! They were the ONLY people who ruined Obsidian's hard work with K2! Now they slap THE DEVELOPERS, and US THE PAYING CUSTOMERS WHO CAN END UP LIVING THEIR LIVES PLAYING THESE GAMES AND MODDING THEM in the face by not allowing Obsidian to release the patch which is undoubtedly finished by now!

This is equally as horrible as what they did to Totally Games and the X-Wing series back when EP1 came out, and I just cannot stand for this anymore...I have put up with this for 7 years, it ends NOW. No more torment...No more betrayls... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just between you and me, I feel the same way about "that company". It's just that many of us have recently had to become 'masters of the understatemen't in the wake of the forum closure scare. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Obsidian has a right to fear them. I don't...I have been with them since the very beginning of their rise to power, and I have seen more than I can take. EP1 was enough of a betrayl, now they are continuing to betray their millions of fanatically loyal fans by ruining futher development of their *REAL* games. XWA was enough...That betrayl cost me almost everything, including my sanity...I will not be able to tolerate another such betrayl of that magnitude. I lost a league of 500 people thanks to their cutting off X-Wing/TIE, and those people were my second family for YEARS...That pain, and what happend to me with the XWA community in the years after the fall of my league is simply too much to bear the weight of another such betrayl...Not again. Never again. K2 is the ONLY game since XWA that I have taken a genuine liking (and living) to...No other game, from no other company, has captured my mind and soul like KotoR has....XWA and K2 are the only games I am willing to have anything to do with right now. I even left the Battle For Middle-Earth community and the huge rebalance mod I was doing there just to play K2. Though I can enjoy K2 because I can force it to work, there are certain things that cannot be fixed, no matter how much I tear apart the game and re-assemble it, it just is not enough. It needs to be brought up to the most recent version, KOTOR 1.3 works for me perfectly, if they could simply bring K2 up to that standard, I would not be screaming out rages and calling up my old students and allies from years gone by to fight another war... I tried fighting a war with TG and Lucasfarts over XWA after they abandoned it, but Lucasfarts literally told Larry that they would not allow XWA to be patched, even though it needed it! I was in the chat that the Datamaster's community had with Larry Holland and some others from TG regarding obtaining XWA's source code....I saw the depth of Lucasfart's betrayl of not only us, but of TG as well. I have something of a perfect memory, one of my many gifts, and I remember every single thing they did to the X-Wing fans and the community...They are now doing the SAME things to Obsidian and this community. If you do not stand up to the giant and weather what they threaten to do to you, then you will be forced into subjugation and this game will go the way X-Wing went! They want one type of SW game at Lucasarts: Easily-marketed console and/or shooter games. Everything else has at least a two-year development cycle, Lucasfarts wants to make a one-year deadline so they can make pitiful x-mas sales and so on...They care nothing for making games that are more "Adult" as long as they can make money from selling cheaply-designed Console games. Republic Commando is identical to Battlefront, it just uses a different shooter engine, but it's the same blasted game! I doubt we will see a K3 unless we rise up and make Lucasfarts see how much they are ruining things for us!! Beleive me or not, they WILL hold up development of K3 because of the problems that have happend to the PC version of K2 and unless K2 is solved in short order, I doubt we will see a K3, and IF we do, it will be so poor that it won't be worth the CD's it's burned onto! Let Lucasfarts know your displeasure, let them know that you are willing to stand up to them and fight for your ideals. Show them that we are willing to go that extra mile, just like the Exile and Revan were willing to betray the Jedi for the good of the galaxy, so must we be willing to betray Lucasfarts for the good of KotoR's present and it's future!!

  24. IMHO, the ONLY reason I like KOTOR in and of itself: Excessive Mod-dability JA sucks for one reason: Multiprayer-only modding BFront sucks for the same reason. It's nothing but fragging, and that bores me...Killing without a reason, without a story...That is just weak. I want a story when I slaughter, and since X-Wing Alliance lacked what I consider to be a real story, I created one over the last 7 years, and yes, it has taken me this long. KOTOR 2 has even better modding potential than KOTOR 1 did, but not for quite the same reasons as KOTOR 1...Mainly KOTOR 2 has more abilities, scripting, and functions than KOTOR 1 had...KOTOR 1 was....Limited. Now, if the game engine problems will be patched, I will probably use KOTOR 2 to support my XWA mod, what I cannot do with XWA, K2 will be able to handle once I dig my claws into it enough. Sigh...The largest problem with K2 is that the engine itself was based on version 1 of KOTOR, and not 1.03, which is the simple reason why the game itself is chocked with bugs...Most of these can currently be side-stepped and the missing content-storyline can be added in later (assuming Lucasfarts stops being so proud of their licenses and starts letting Obsidian actually do their damned jobs instead of holding them back), but there are fundamental problems that can only be fixed by bringing the engine up to 1.03 spec. Until they bring K2 up to the most recent KOTOR 1 standards, this game will have some large number of un-repairable issues that will severely hamper this game's popularity and sales figures. Oh well, all I can do is wait and see for now...The time may come when I can...Influence things...But that time won't come until later on this year when Lucas starts digging his personal claws into Lucasfarts...Admittedly, Lucasfarts has produced one sub-standard game after the other since EP1, Lucas knows this, and he said a while ago that he was getting tired of it, and was going to do something about the Lucasfarts problems after EP3 was released. What he will actually do is not known, but I assume he wouldn't make a statement of that magnitude if he wasn't going to re-structure the personell problems at Lucasfarts that are continuing to hold things up over there. This statement by Lucas has been a topic of discussion for a while at the XWA Upgrade, for the obvious reasons, and I think it will have sweeping repercussions for just about every single SW game out there, and I hope he will try to force things to get done with K2 if things aren't patched by then. You see, Obsidian can only say "It'll be out soon" because if they say anything more, it would be actionable if they didn't actually do what they said they would do...They say "Soon" every week because they know how pissed off we are, and how personal some of us are getting about the defunctional nature of K2...Unfortunately, Obisidian's hands are entirely tied right now thanks to Lucasfarts. If every single one of us would SPAM *YES SPAM* Lucasfarts and don't stop until they let Obsidian finish a patch for us, then we might actually see a patch instead of always hearing "soon" every week. If you don't know how to setup a multi-pronged spam from multiple sources, well, too bad for you kiddo...But, you should at least send one email to Lucasfarts support, and you should definately give them a phone call. The more they hear from *US*, the more they will be inclined to stop beating around the bush and actually *DO* something about us before they go insane trying to stop our flood of calls and emails I know, no one wants to take drastic actions, but unless we do, we will NOT see a patch, and CERTAINLY will never see the content. Obsidian has their hands tied behind them and Lucasfarts is holding them hostage, and it is up to us to DEMAND that they stop holding up the patch and let Obsidian get things going again. I don't care if the patch isn't "Finished" (Which I know for a fact that it is, they are just waiting for Lucasfarts to give the final go-ahead, which won't happen until we start attacking Lucasfarts and demanding that we get the patch), but Lucasfarts is holding things up, and I for one, will not tolerate this any longer. This same thing happend to XWA, and guess what we've all called it over there: ABANDON-WARE. Lucasfarts has decided to ABANDON further development of K2, that is why the patch is being held up and Obsidian can't do a damned thing about it. Some wars are enevitable...This was said at one point in K2, and I'm repeating it now. This happend once before to a game that I love: XWA....I WILL NOT SEE IT HAPPEN AGAIN! I know this doesn't belong here and will probably get nuked, but I've had enough of this beating around the bush attitude from Lucasfarts, and I'm going to end it now, or die trying. XWA was destroyed in this exact same fashion, I will not let it happen a second time to another game that I love....

Ok, let me post Alaric's build and Jorias Kell's build: I use a number of mods for maximum enjoyment of K2, all from www.pcgamemods.com Alaric Qel-Droma: Jedi Guardian STR: 15 DEX: 14 CON: 12 (This is where I put ALL of my level-up points until I hit 18 for my uber-implant) INT: 12 WIS: 14 CHA: 12 Skills: 10 Each (I use KSE to give me this tiny little boost, but NOTHING else) Implant: Universal D-Package (Gives +2 to all Stats) Head: Force Visor (This gives massive reinforcement to your Force ability, and yes, it is a normal game item...Well, ok, maybe not quite so "normal" since it almost never appears unless you get very very lucky, I will use Bindo's Band as alternative if the Visor does not appear) Gloves: Dominator Gauntlets or Sith Power Gauntlets if I give the Dom's to Atton or Bao-Dur Right Arm: PC's Armband Left Arm: Renewable Arkanian Shield (Special item from RedHawke's Beginning Items Mod, basic Arkanian shield that has infinate charges...Not the most effective and drains fast later on, but of course it can be turned on again) Right Hand: Sith Marauder Longsaber (PC Crystal, Sith Marauder Crystal [From Prestige Items&Robes mod], and Qixoni Crystal, with several mod-only components to make this saber do 35-120 damage) Left Hand: Identical to Right except that instead of Qix, it has Upari or Hoth Ice Crystal. Belt: Immortality Belt or Inertial Inhibitor Armor: Sith Marauder Robes (Bonded Plates Mark-4, Bio Underlay Mark-5) At the end-game, Alaric has 750 HP and 600 FP (give or take a few that I rounded off), 40-135 Right damage\+45 Attack, 35-120 Left Damage\+43 Attack, 46 Def, has all the critical Force chains mastered (I always master Lightning, Drain Life, Speed, Battle Med., Energy Resist, Force Resist, and Mind Trick, and Force Persuade no matter what class I use), and is level 32. He uses Resilience when facing non-Jedi/Sith, and Juyo when facing single enemies or melee enemies. Alaric always gets a full-on critical with his right hand, normally doing between 250 and 300 damage with Master Speed and Master Flurry, and his left does between 75 and 130, but almost never scores a critical for some reason that I cannot explain or compute (Even though the mod-only parts are identical...?)... I have full-on influence with everyone except Mira since she's never in my phar-tay...Bao is Marauder of course (I use Prestige Padawans mod, always ), and my usual phar-tay is Atton and Brianna, or I can take my uber-Kreia if I want the extra EXP's. My phar-tay for the tomb is Brianna, Bao, and HK-47 (HK pwns with Envida's 1.3 Complete Mods). I rarely use LS, but I do identical stuff with LS physically, and I of course spam Wave instead of Lightning/Drain, and use Stasis when I need to (which is almost never...I like my food to be alive when I devour it...Kah'Pla! )... If you want my list of mods I use, then here they are (I use these to maintain a sense of balance because I use the Hardcore mod normally at Moderate or Hard settings, and I always make the in-game difficulty set to hard): 1. Mandalore's Mandalorians (Basically changes the models of the normal Mandal's to be red, blue, and yellow versions of Mandalore's armor, really cool effect I think) 2. DS 3-Pack (Pwnage with the Sith Preist look and the maul-ish Bao) 3. Hanharr Refined (Makes Hanharr's fur darker and more dramatic) 4. Military Spec HK-xx (This pwns, changes the HK-50's into Jungle Camo and HK-47 into Urban Camo ) 5. Mira Re-Skin (It's the one where Mira gets more of a red-gold hair color for more drama, and a purple-ish clothing scheme...Makes her look more dramatic and if she goes DS, hehehe...She pwns with this skin) 6. Monster Packs 1 and 2 (These are simply mandatory) 7. Prequel Saber Blades (Mandatory, hands-down) 8. Anti-Speed Blur (Mandatory, I hate that effect, but I of course need my 4.3 Frame Buffer stuff from my personally modified ATI drivers) 9. Crush FX (This is the first one posted, the one posted yesterday is just butt-ugly, sounds like the inside of the fetus, the new one does :ph34r: ), and I modded the spells.2da to support it. 10. Demolitions-Based Grenades and Wrist Launcher (This bases your grenades, mines, and Wrist Launcher damage totals on your demolitions skill level...Makes for far more dramatic battles as your enemies get tougher...And allows you to do mega-damage if you pump up your Demo) 11. Hardcore Mod (I usually use the Moderate settings with the game set to hardest...Although when I want more of a fight, I use the harder settings that Beancounter made)... 12. Vader's Saber Hilt (This thing just makes having a Red Saber totally f'n Pwn ) These are the larger mods I use: 1. Prestige-Class Robes&Items Pack (This is simply mandatory if you use Hardcore...I seriously hate the Exiles Item Pack mod because it's way over-balanced, but this mod is FAR more reasonable in terms of balance) 2. Beginning Items Pack (This gives you various vibro-weapons and other cool stuff so you can get on your feet faster...Like K2 *SHOULD* have been...) 3. Prestige Padawans Mod (This allows you to make your friends to be a Prestige Class if their light/dark alignment goes under 30 or over 70...Makes for some genuinely kick-ass pwnage material. Want to see a REALLY deadly Atton...? ) 4. Envida's 1.3 Complete Mods (This is really fun because it allows you to have some extras mainly for HK-47, which are a total nessisity if you use Hardcore, and since you need to hack apart the game to get to the Droid Factory to get HK's special rifle, this mod makes things better because it means you don't have to cheat to get the items you need for everyone's favorite Droid) 5. Skip Peragus Mod (This is one of the more original skip Peragus mods...It gives you some very balanced items and stuff to start the game with, the items are weak-ish, but they help you out a bit, and those HK parts really help you of course...I can't live without HK early-on....GIVE ME MY HK DROID OBSIDIAN DAMN YOU!! ) It's too bad there is no new story stuff if you have HK early-on...I am going to write my own mod for allowing this...I want to have some very witty HK remarks if you activate him early as he meets the other HK units Jorias is identical build to Alaric, except that he goes Sith Lord instead of Marauder...Now, it's really not much different because my Alaric build has so many god-damned force points and is equally as deadly as Jorias is, but Jorias normally has Force Confusion, which, combined with Atton, Mira, or Visas, can make for a VERY fun game LOL, I had the majority of the Royalists guarding me throughout much of the battle to give the General his place over the snobby Queen It was also funny to manipulate the Boma's to attack the Sith in the tomb...Pwned I always use Guardian first because I really think the extra feats are monumentally important to your initial gameplay if you're using Hardcore. Thanks to the other mods I use, I get a high-enough CHA to balance out my attack force powers...I think by the time I finished Nar, Dxun, and Dant and was just doing the palance invasion, I had Force Storm doing 80 damage to every enemy it got casted at, well, at least those who didn't manage to resist it thanks to Hardcore I love giving Storm to Atton and running down the Palace with Atton and Kreia and Me all spamming Storm all the time LOoool, it was really pwnage time when the only attacks that went on was Storm throughout half the Palace mission...ahahahahah.....FRIED HUMAN PLATTER!!
