  1. Haven't played much XV since rebeating the main story (burnt out a bit I guess?) but I did decide I could now try a couple more Cheat Engine tables. Using a new save slot, of course. Mostly the table for increasing enemy hp/stat multipliers. It actually isn't too bad/works ok - since it's a multiplier, low lvl/starter enemies stay low level, it's the higher level enemies that get big hp/level boosts, which is what I'd want. A new playthrough you wouldn't have to wear the Nix Band for example - if you tend to reach the last story chapter at clvl 70, put the multiplier around 1.6 or 1.7 and there you go. You can just have their level and hp go up or also have it increase their physical/magic power and resistances. Don't want to get too crazy with that tho or you won't ever be able to do even 9999 damage to anything, let alone limit-breaking. The other table is for adding "permanent" guest characters, whether Iris or Cor or Ravus or even Ardyn. I'm using Ravus and it's hilarious. He's useful in a fight. But he doesn't get a chocobo or ride in the car so he's forced to just chase after on foot. Funny stuff.
  2. I'm about ready to buy a 1TB SSD. One, because "I can" and two, because I'm tired of the tiny loading hitches in XV. The frame-pacing/fps is fine ... it's just those little micro-second loading hitchings as you, say, run overground for long distances or enemies drop onto your head. Doesn't happen constantly/always but it's there. Loading screen times are ok/don't really other me, hitching does. Also, then I can use the HDD for another internal storage drive. Win/win. Hope everyone in the US is having a nice 3-day weekend. After a bit o' unseasonal rain, it's cleared up and is very nice here again. Good day to go ... shopping!
  3. Was never a huge fan/follower but I did enjoy some of the WTF videos. And cancer just plain sucks, as always. RIP
  4. Monster Hunter World for the PS4. Which I haven't touched in 2.5 months (the console as a whole I mean). Altho technically it would be FFXV Windows Edition, but that wasn't me buying a new/unplayed game. I occasionally look at Steam and GoG and nothing appeals enough for me to spend cash on it. Although...the other day I noticed GoG had Nox - why have I never noticed that before - and I went as far as sticking it in my shopping cart, but then changed my mind. I loved that game tho, back when. Would be fun to revisit it at some point.
  5. I used to occasionally have something mildly interesting to say in this thread. Now I don't even have cat stories. I think hubby is delaying a "real vacation" because he knows there's a 90% chance of me running out to get a cat as soon as we get back.
  6. I have a feeling I'd enjoy Solo in a light-hearted way....I'm so divorced from SW fandom at this point that I'd just see it as a mostly a new product, like I did with the Star Trek reboot films. Which isn't to say I'd think it was a great film or something. Only that I'd watch the whole thing, get a few chuckles, not regret renting it, then immediately forget about it. Another topic: James Berardinelli wrote up an interesting thought piece re: the future of movie theaters vs. the convenience and cost-effectiveness of staying at home/streaming etc.. I think I'd tend to agree with him that at some point not too far into the future, theaters may go the way of the dodo, or Blockbuster video stores etc. Maybe not entirely, but all those vast multiplexes built the past decade or so are going to have to think of something fast if they don't want to close their doors. http://www.reelviews.net/reelthoughts/reelthought_1527191673 Edit: I kind of miss the days when theaters were either single/dual or maybe 6 screens at the most.
  7. I dunno if someone posted this already at some point, I randomly surfed to it and yeah, I lol'd.
  8. Finally finished main storyline of FFXV/PC. The last fight I purposely delayed winning because the villain kept making me laugh every time I paused the game (faces, poses)...one had to be there, so to speak. I could finally record the end-credits with my photos (on console it's always disallowed to ps4-record because of the song - pc, that doesn't apply, pfft). Familiar enough with the game and what it likes to choose, that the photos part came out almost perfect. Yay! That was a fun 2.5 month ride. Haven't done a complete story playthru of it since July last year I think, plus PC edition/Ansel/sharing photos (I had a pic blog elsewhere) made it feel almost special again. Now I can relax and do the post-game and rest of dlc (eg, a complete file) whenever/whatever. Still love this game. And Iggy is still bae.
  9. I hope he's going to wash his hand afterwards. I've never cared about "realistic strands and hair movement" but having it does make me laugh at least once per play session.
  10. "From the director of the Fast and the Furious." I was never a huge fan of the original show or anything remotely like it, but still...no, just no. Just make a new detective show, Hollywood, stop trading on name recognition.
  11. ^ The graphics and combat I saw in another trailer make the game look sweet in those areas. And I like the humor-lines. But is it a mostly one and done kind of action game? Or is it supposed to be good for replaying. It'd be nice to have another PS4 game for the console tho, since I've pretty much abandoned it after XV on PC.
  12. For the first time in our entire together-lives, hubby and I ordered pizza two nights in a row. It was a lazy weekend. I also logged into GoG for the first time in many moons, and when I was told to type in my verification code that was being emailed to me, I nearly had a fit. I absolutely hate being forced to do that (Steam does this too) because I don't allow perm. cookies so they always think it's a "new machine" every single time. So annoying. But thankfully GoG let me disable it...unlike Steam. One day gaming forum software will do something similar and I'll disappear from the 'net. Yeah, I'm old and tech-cranky these days. Turning into my grandparents or something.
  13. That 2nd Jack Reacher movie was "free" on Amazon Prime so we watched that while eating pizza. The first film was a lot better, imo. This sequel was ok, but I didn't like the "maybe daughter" subplot which just felt like boring time-filler. You could have excised that entire subplot/character from the film and never notice anything missing.
  14. ....I'm still bored. ....I used to write and photography was creating. I don't write anymore either. I also tried volunteer work for a while, but that's too social for me to do often. It's just a phase I suppose. Hubby was stuck in a rut for a long time too, he just sat and watched TV (and gardened in spring), mostly. Then he started on the 3d printer stuff and seems reinvigorated. I just haven't found something new like that, yet. It's just irritating/annoying in the meantime.
  15. ^ Nah, it's not like that. More like a longtime retiree thing. It's what happens to some of us when you've had almost nothing but free time for many many years. You burn out on hobbies after a while and don't know what to replace them with. Books I lost interest in years ago for example, thats not recent.
  16. I don't know anything about the game, but it reminds me that I'd still like a secret dungeon basement. For many reasons. Considering my current state of mind, maybe digging one out could be my new life project.
  17. Sidenote: lately I'm starting to feel like I could be ready for shuffleboard cruises. eg, I've lost interest in almost everything else, outside of Ansel-ing my way through FFXV and using Ignis as my desktop wallpaper at all times. Used to devour books - don't care anymore, all seem the same. Used to devour films/TV - don't care anymore, all seem the same. Used to love photography - don't care and digital has made it less interesting (altho easier to do cool stuff) Games - same. Dance - same. Long drives, camping/hiking, etc. Same. I'm not social, I don't drink, I don't play sports, I don't care to knit or sew or make webpages or youtube blogs or become a culinary expert. Hubby sits in the garage tinkering with his printers or gardening in the yard. ...what do loners do when their loner activities no longer appeal?
  18. ^ Well of course it's not the same. That's why I said "kinda." It's what the US has, is all. Point is I don't get that level of fascination with other people's lives. If I'd been around during Kennedy, for example, I wouldn't have cared what the 1st lady wore and what she was doing. But whatever - we all have our irrational fascinations. :D
  19. No, and no. I used to be in pretty good shape, biked, hiked, danced, blah blah. But I've never ever liked "working out" even when I had a routine. And I never will. I'll pedal on my little machine 20 minutes a day, take a walk sometimes, and do arm/knee exercises a few times a week. Anything more is unlikely for anything more than a few days in a row. Besides.
  20. I remember when Charles and Diana got hitched and it was SUCH a big deal in the US. I was an early teen then or something. I didn't care then, I care even less now. I'll never understand the fascination with such. It's a wedding, not Disney animation. ...marriage and then 15 years later, possible Royal Divorce. hardeharhar. I didn't care when Brad and Angelina got together either (that's kinda like "royalty" in US terms - Hollywood couples, meh). Not like any of them are my friends.
  21. Imgur seems to be starting a policy of blocking some busy websites from direct-link embedding. Doesn't apply here, but that means it's back to using my own webserver again most of the time. Phooey on them. ;p Anyway - Bahamut, all gold and shiny. (edit: is it a spoiler without context? Maybe I should tag it anyway)
  22. My main health problem is I dislike exercising and I no longer do/care about many activities that keep me "active". I mean I try to at least do a minimum, but I don't do anywhere near enough, especially for my aging self. I'd rather just sit in a chair in my comfy house doing sitting-down things. Pffft. I also much prefer raw vegies. Or at least, barely cooked ones. Like tossing vegies in a pan with a tiny bit of oil/garlic and tossing it over heat for 2-3 minutes. They have to still have texture. Mushy vegies are just ick.
  23. In general I just like more party members, but I also have this thing where I prefer even numbers, because I prefer the ... stance? ... symmetry of it. 5 just throws me off. Haha. (edit) I like my six-dot dominoes.
  24. I'm standing in front of the palace gate that will lead me to the final 3 fight sections of the main story in FFXV. Finally there! Probably just another 30 minutes or so of gameplay....of course, that means about 6-8 hours of actual time spent, because every single fight takes me 1.5-3 hours of Ansel-ing. So far, the first "new boss" was a great improvement/more fun. Not difficulty wise, but definitely more fun then the boring version that was there before. I already played most of the revamped last Chapt. in post-game status, on console, but it plays quite differently (eg, it's better/feels more interesting) when you do it "naturally" via getting there as you would through the storyline, since there's a few scenes and atmosphere stuff that don't play/happen in post-game playing. Definitely a better experience than the initial release version, especially if you do one particular new side-quest first before going for the main-questline. I still think the overall enlargement of the Chapt. play-area is nothing special, but the story/atmosphere feels somewhat improved with the changes. At least, it's more epic. Now if they'd only improve/expand the water-city and "train" chapters a bit, the whole game would be feel much better pacing wise (wishful thinking, they won't, at least not in main-game).
  25. One of the (new Royal content) ending bosses, visual spoiler, tagged. I enjoyed this a fair bit more than the "boss" that was originally in this spot. Cerberus says Hi.
