I know why games may remove collision in combat, but it still cracks me up when, in non-combat, they have this huuuge "don't get close to me" collision space around them, but once combat starts, you get creepy/weird moments like this: Also: "There's a girl in the car! Do I look okay?" I still don't understand this whole "moogle" doll thing but I guess it's kinda cute? Aranea is cool tho. -
Essentially true, but more RAM does help me actually run the game, in a way. >.> It was sucking up 8 system RAM just to run it (it's gone as high as 9). Then top it off with the 2GB that just running Wndows uses and I'd get close enough to the 12RAM that I had, that if I tried browsing the net or looking at screenshots with the game still open, it would sometimes crash w/out of memory errors. Ha. Ha. So having 24RAM was a must for me, for this one game. (16 would've worked probably tho) I think some run it with less than 12RAM (and no hi-res texture pack) and the game limits itself then somewhat but yeah...I wouldn't want to go there.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - FREE WHITE HOUSE MONTAGE

*watches that Tower of Time trailer" It looked pretty good until the very end and the seemingly rooted-in-place mega boss with a giant arm showed up. Which has nothing to do with overall quality of a game but I've never much liked/am so tired of bosses like those, any genre. So boring. Game does look interesting/looks nice outside of that tho. I may keep it in my radar. -
After picking apart, tinkering with, and studying that original cheap 3D printer kit he bought (more hours of entertainment than most get from $300, I'd say), hubby is now ... building his own 3D printer. Printed some connectors/brackets, bought/cut frame pieces, starting in on the power supply/electronics. I think he was originally going to cannibalize some parts from the 1st one but now he says he probably won't. It actually looks pretty good so far. He still hasn't printed me a cat, however, so even tho he's really cute when he's industrious, he's still -1.
-
^ And then hubby gets home, sees I'm grumpy, we get food, he's making me laugh, talking about his garden, picking some TV to watch, all is right with the world again. I love my man.

omg, knew it was coming but still ROFL ....

My older sister is once again gallivanting across the globe in her "retirement", doing good deeds in underprivileged villages. She's great/fantastic and super smart, mind, but also one of those types that makes you feel judged/unenlightened for your much more ordinary life. My entire family is/was like that. "You need fixing," "Why are you interested in that," etc. They once ambushed me via a dinner invite that was really an attempt to guilt-trip/force me into some weird life-motivator seminar series (hubby was pretty ticked off with that one). I am a Gremlin parked with a fleet of Teslas. Not much in common, yeah. Thought it might have improved some but nah. After mother's legal stuff is fully done I think ... that is it for me. *feels depressed, grabs a blanket and turns on the TV*

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - FREE WHITE HOUSE MONTAGE

SE at Pax East announced their plans for the 4 new FFXV DLC. Two, at least, which sound like separate but tied together alternate path/rainbows and kittens ending DLC's (Noct and Luna). Maybe including a redemption arc for the bad guy, judging by a "painting" they also showed. To all be released by summer 2019. Color me unimpressed. All this basically fan-service stuff, for paid DLC. http://www.ign.com/articles/2018/04/06/pax-east-2018-final-fantasy-xv-4-new-story-dlc-episodes-coming-in-2019 Also, level/mini-game mod tools not until Fall (weapon/clothing in early Summer). And a stand-alone version of Comrades so one wouldn't need disc/main game to play it (no word whether that'll be yet another separate purchase or they'll update it somehow....) I'll still love/play the main game, mind, and patiently wait for mod tools but yeah ... I think that's about the end of my interest in future content. It was a good run. And I still have the original game/Episode Ignis. :D -
^ Vet trips - more traumatic for cat or owner? I say it's about equal. G'luck. ...Sitting a while on a wooden chair, in the garage, the sound of rain made me recall some kiddie rain-adventures - reminders of youth. ...Getting up again from said chair - reminders of not-youth. Still good times, tho.

Not a cat, but still adorable. Behind the cut-scenes: Ignis-vision. -
There's this feature on another forum where if you highlight a certain part of a posts text then hit Quote, it only quotes that part of the post. I like that feature. As a general statement since I started playing a bit on consoles, the only thing I miss re: KB/mouse is aiming precision if it's an action game. That and inventory menus that were designed for KB/mouse vs. controller, but it feels like most games are designed with consoles eventually in mind these days so even in PC games those aren't always what I prefer anyway, anymore. PC game controls are becoming so convoluted that I often dislike it - 10 commands of Alt+F6 and Cntrl+9+a round of hokey pokey just to do what seem like simple things. I always liked the ability to reconfigure KB/mouse controls to almost whatever you wanted, to better fit your hand preferences but it's becoming rather ridiculous in the few games I've seen/tried lately - I prefer most things to be doable with single key presses or just the mouse even. I see 4 pages of KB/mouse "commands" in a game and my eyes glaze over.

Chris Evans with only a 'stache and that haircut and furrowed brow is kind of scary. Also..this is why you close the bathroom door.

Oh that's right, I remember now. Boredom and lack of other hobbies these days. Sigh. Gardened (rain is supposedly coming but it's still nice today) - the fava beans hubby planted are growing exponentially. Yes, that's right, fava beans. Never had any before, guess I get to now. Hubby grew them cause they're supposedly good for the soil, not because he really wanted fava beans. Or so he says. Perhaps I should be worried? Hubby is 3D printing something while he's away today and it's been going and going for hours. It's not a very big thing, but it sure is taking a long time. Cooked/ate some lunch, surfed the web. Now I'm twiddling my thumbs again. With nothing better to do...time to fill up the HDD with more screenshots.

LOL I stopped watching/keeping up with Supernatural around season 11 (saw some episodes of 12 but not all), so hadn't heard of this. Saw your post and looked up some clips on YouTube. Funny stuff. I don't think I could take a full hour of it, but in clip form, quite amusing.
-
At the rate I'm going I'm going to fill up the internal storage HDD with hi-res FFXV screenshots in about a month. ... I really need to stop obsessing over seemingly cataloguing every single frame of the game. Why do I always do this.

Must be nice. I'm still stuck around 35, although ATT decided they needed access to our yard to install their fiber recently (power type poles are in backyards instead of the front, in this area) so maybe it'll finally be time to switch soon. I try to keep images around 2MB or less but when you post a lot at once I still feel weird about it. I could just post links to Imgur albums but that's no fun. lol. Pitching is great even in fantasy games. -
There's a Rosanne series reboot? Hm. I watched another 3 episodes of that Sword Gai anime. It's still a series where I sit down intending to watch just one but end up watching more. The middle of the series seems to be taken up with a lot of introducing the other "living swords" of evil and their owners/Busoma or Chrysalis or about-to-be-owners. Which is a little distracting in the sense you want it to focus more on the supposed main characters .... you can feel the series revving up for some kind of huge confrontation, of course (whether that's in the first season or not I dunno yet). That said the small animated tragi-fables of their creation that go along with each "living sword" are quite enjoyable. And the new main Chrysalis chr/mentor is entertaining.

It's getting to a point where I feel like I should be making my own FFXV-pic thread that most could ignore instead of spamming the general thread. Especially when I now like to post big pics. Oh well whatever. -
Is it May/June yet? I really want those FFXV official mod tools now. I'd just be happy with being able to create/reskin the clothes at this point, darnit. I don't care about repurposing questlines/Hunts or adding new monsters, vehicles, or complex new content mods - I need clothes! How can a rpg full of obvious fashion-horse dudes have hardly any CLOTHES. And chocobo colors! I need more chocobo colors! *** ***1st world gamer complaints

Started watching another Netflix anime called Sword Gai while eating a late dinner. Next thing I knew I was on Episode 5, before turning it off to to other things. I saw swords and magic and demons which is always a combo I like in anime (note: this is not of the dungeons and dragons types of swords and magic). Then came the action, the of course uber-handsome good team and bad team (why do I ALWAYS like anime chrs. with glasses...), and the "who cares what the reasons are" plot framework for the action and combat clashes. Easily digestible action anime. Although I hear it ends on a cliffhanger and who knows about a 2nd season. Still...another one I'll finish.

I like games with a lot of organizational and collection "busy work" and memorable characters/party members + fun combat (note: fun doesn't always mean difficult). I like singleplayer/offline option. For "story" rpg's I vastly prefer a "full party" vs. a lone protagonist. I gravitate towards more combat-heavy titles plus at least partially or pseudo open-world party-rpg's (eg. exploration is a biggie for me), as well as city-builder/RTS element types and survival-build-sandbox. I used to like Diablo/clones but I think I'm pretty tired of that subgenre, can't seem to get into them for long anymore. Dungeon Keeper 1, Caesar 3 and other old Impressions titles, Baldurs Gate 1, Might and Magic series, KOTOR2, Fallout:NV, Borderlands series, 7 Days to Die and recently FF-XV would be primary examples. Many newer titles have little to no appeal to me at all these days, for whatever reasons. If I find one I do like I play it for months/years and have no idea what's going on in gaming news outside of that, except for whatever news tidbits I read on forums like this one.

Good arch support can really help keep hips and back in alignment when standing. My ankles tend to "roll in" (flat feet, alas) which is bad for the ankles, hips and knees. Asic's is a brand I've always liked but depends on which shoe. Most of the time I just don't wear shoes, around the house, tho. I stand on my tiptoes instead.

Why do clowns look creepy even in pixelated art form? While I spend plenty of time getting shots of the "boys" I spend just as much time trying to get combat shots. This hunt is good for Sagefire. Still trying to get a good one of Mark and Recoil. Linkstrikes have been near impossible to get good screens of since they're unpredictable and very brief animations but darnit I'm going to get them... -
Spent the day unpacking the voice files (and some other files) of FFXV. Sadly I don't have a tool that can batch convert them into playable .mp3's or something yet, only one at a time. Slow going, just trying to find certain ones, which is tough with a zillion directories and mysterious (to ppl who didn't make the directories) file names. I wonder tho, why do games always break up long conversations into tiny tiny pieces? I don't mean battle cries or other short things, but something that plays in-game as, say, several uninterrupted sentences said at once by one character is still broken up into like one short bit after another. I guess just in case they change their minds and want to break it up? Anyway...not smart enough to do a lot with unpacked files and no official tools but still always interesting.

Camp scenes with Ansel. Every time you trigger/exit Ansel they move just a bit inbetween etc. I seriously cannot get anywhere in the main story on PC because for every 10 minutes of playing I spend like 40 minutes using Ansel. 2.5 weeks and I'm still in Chapt. 4! I may have to disable it for a while. Can someone make an ulgy-mod for Ignis please? God save me, I can't stop. He's always reminded me a bit of my (youthful) husband (physically and personality wise, even down to the coffee obsession) so I've always like Iggy best of the 4 bro's, but Ansel makes it 100x worse. You can make fun of me now.
